I just bought a used 2013 Nissan small car, clean title, for less than 4k. All insurance companies quoted me for 550 half coverage and 690 full coverage. THATS OVER 10 K a year. More than 3 times the value of the car per fking year. I (or probably anyone) cannot afford this bs. Is there any way around it?
Edit: I never got a ticket, squeaky clean title. No accidents or anything. Same with the car clean title. Won’t disclose my exact age but I’m of university age.
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some suggestions. I live in a small townhouse, and my water bill for the past two months is about $180. Is this normal for households in Burlington?
I haven't overused or wasted water—just using it for basic needs. My toilet was leaking for a while, but that has been fixed, and I doubt that would cause my bill to be so high.
I would really appreciate any help or advice on this. Thank you!
Can they just leave downtown alone? This isn’t Toronto! Let’s try to keep some of downtown not completely full of high rises. I get we need more housing but there are so many unused areas of Burlington. Leave the waterfront alone. If anyone wants to complain to the developers or the city here is the info.
Hello all,
I located a lost dog in the area of Guelph line and Britannia Road (Burlington North) at approximately 0530hrs on today’s date. Dog is very friendly however timid and has clearly been outside for a period of time and has lost some weight. I have attached a picture if anyone recognizes the dog, unfortunately it has not been chipped.
I was driving down guelph line just north of dundas, watched it turn into a fire ball and disintegrate probably a few hundred meters above my head, very cool!
Wish I’d seen this genius lining their car up for this abomination. Fabulous stuff.
Been blackout for about 10 min, around walkers and new, anyone else?
We’re cleaning out our closets and have a large box of clothes to donate. Where would be the best place to bring them to ensure they go directly to someone in need?

Just had several WWII planes fly over my apartment at Guelph Line and Lakeshore. One is a Lancaster bomber, the other I am not sure of as it has only 2 engines. It's amazing how loud these things are. I saw some fighters as well but didn't get any vid.
Question: Where are you or other Burlingtonians remembering today at 11am ? The cenetaph near city hall? The Woodlawn cemetery where veterans are layed to rest? The naval monument at Spencer Smith park? Anywhere else? Please share

Is there any where in the city I can go and use fentanyl safely and supervised?
Is there a place to get a good haircut in town? I have usually gone to GreatClips/First Choice but they are wildly inconsistent... I also tried Tommy Gun's but it's this whole operation that default comes with a hair wash and massage and hot towels, yadda yadda... I just want a good, quality, consistent haircut... any suggestions?
Edit: I should specify men's haircut
Edit2: Thanks for all of the great suggestions! Will check them out!
I swear some people really need theatre etiquettes. I mean, no one is there to listen to your crap, your opinion and definitely not your hidden talent about the movie's characters.
So this clown comes up and sits on D12, Audi 4 for todays 3:30 pm show in Burlington of Daima and the moment he sits starts making weird noises about power levels 9000 and what not. Yea kid we get it, we've seen it too and maybe more than you, if you are full of yourself go back to your mum's basement and watch it on her wifi and netflix account. Jeez.
Had to change my seat to be at peace and enjoy a film I paid $15 for plus the insane price on snacks.
and what is it with people in the GTA and their inability to find the seats they booked? probably the the time in a year i've seen this happen now. Literally weirdos everywhere.
I recently inhereted a 70s style charm bracelet. There are a few charms I would like to add to it. Can you please recommend a reputable jeweler - ideally close to downtown. Also, if you happen to have a ballpark of what I can anticipate in terms of cost, that would be much appreciated (otherwise, I will make inquiries based on recommendations). TIA
Are there any restaurants in the area that offer other meat options besides bacon, sausage and ham (pork meats).
What about Turkey (not Turkey bacon), Salmon, chicken, beef.
TIA.
Spotted at Burlington GO just now on several cars, any idea what this is?
Looking to play a couple games of pool. Know the Poacher has tables downstairs, but are we able to go down during the day - without the bartender being there? Does Joe Dogs have pool tables downstairs? Which place is the best to go to to play and have a couple cheeky afternoon pints? Thanks in advance!
Can anyone recommend a good osteopath in Burlington?
There is a little ravine next to the parking lot where Indian Creek runs through. There were a couple of police cruisers and a black van parked where the fence ends, there was police tape up preventing access to the ravine and sidewalk for a fair distance. Does anyone know what might have happened?
What’s going on this evening? The traffic is unusually heavy. Do we know if there’s an accident or some other issue? It feels like we all decided to hit the road at the same time!
