I am taking skating lessons in the new year and would like to practice in between lessons.
Does anyone know how I would go about this? I wouldn't be able to practice in a busy recreational session when everyone is doing the typical skate in circles around the rink as I would want to practice the actual skills.
If anyone has any knowledge on this, please let me know.
Looking to book an in person colour analysis but not sure where to start with the vetting process. Would love some personal recommendations!
Recently at my parents they called me to deal with a white car in their driveway. Filled with 3 or 4 people.
I went out with a baseball bat. They just flicked a cigarette on the driveway. No fear. Came back drove by slowly a few weeks later.
I feel like the only option is gun ownership. Cops didn’t do anything. And if something happens. Will they do anything?
Do any stores still have advent calendars out?
Hi everyone,
So I'm hoping someone might have gone through the same thing, I've tried googling it but haven't gotten any answer. So I had to get a police background check for a volunteer position I'm hopefully starting in January, still waiting for it to come in, but I had a letter from them to get it for free, I have another volunteer position that also needs the same background check, which I also have a letter for to get it for free, I was wondering if I can just the first one when it comes in for both or if I need to submit another one for that other position. Thanks in advance.
How do I get fibre optic wifi availability at my home? I live south of fairview and brant, older building but it really limits what internet providers I can use. My wifi is dogshit slow and I've been trying to shop around with Rogers or Telus, but their plans aren't great or existent for non fibre optic availability. Currently using Virgin wifi and my modem craps out at least once every 3 months and I need to have it replaced or call the company and have them remotely troubleshoot it.
Additionally, if anyone can recommend good, fast wifi thats not fibre optic I would appreciate it. I've had Cogeco in the past but internet bill was around $300 a month for standard wifi, hence why I switched to Virgin ($50/month). Willing to pay $150-200
Looking at moving to Burlington to rent either a condo or townhome, but am virtually viewing places with a realtor. I have not been to Burlington before, but I will be working in Hamilton and my husband Oakville so it seems Burlington is the best option.
Are there any areas to avoid living safety wise? Overall I get the impression Burlington is much safer than Hamilton (and still a bit cheaper than Oakville) but wondering if there are any areas that are not as safe. I would like to feel comfortable walking alone as a woman around the condo/town/to close by shops.
This weekend on December 7th or 8th im hanging out with a friend, any activities or events happening on those dates you'd recommend ?
Burlington restaurant recommendations are welcome!!
Hello
Is it possible to rent skates at the mainway ice centre? Or possible the Appleby location? My kids have never been skating before and I thought we'd try the public skate THEN look into buying skates if they like it a lot.
FYI
Any sneaky parking lots or spots people can suggest?
Wondering if anyone has used those Facebook marketplace companies who sell/deliver drywall? I need it delivered into my basement and they are quoting $2 per sheet (50 sheets) extra for this, which I think is well worthwhile. However I am dubious about the potential quality of the company/product. They’ve agreed to condition of inspection and delivery into basement before I pay yet I am still uneasy. Anyone have experience to share or possible alternatives?
Burlington has always been a red/blue fight, the NDP, even recently, have never really had a good result in Burlington.
The local Liberals will pick their candidate next month, and who they pick will likely be our only realistic not-doug-ford option. You can register for free to vote in the Nomination on Dec 15th at central arena.. register before 5pm on Sunday to be elegible to vote. You can register on the candidates websites or with the OLP directly.
There are two Candidates, Oliver Parker and Andrea Grebenc. I am supporting one of them (the one that I think has been running a campaign worthy enough for my vote, and this person obviously has a team of people who know what they are doing)
Voter turnout in Burlington has been pathetic.. get involved in your city!
Hey neighbours. I’ve been learning to skate and have been to a few “sticks&pucks” sessions recently.
I’ve signed up for a “Shinny” session next week.
I’m in my 40s and am very much a beginner.
Will my presence at Shinny be okay with the others? As in, will my distinct lack of ability ruin the game for the others?
Thanks!
Hi all, does anyone know of any charities/programs in Ontario that provide assistance to low-income people who need mental health support? I have a good friend who’s in desperate need of mental health therapy. Not a psychiatrist who will just prescribe meds, but a psychologist who she can actually TALK to.
This friend is a single parent, with lifelong health issues, a lot of past trauma, has very little financial or emotional support from family, and she’s experiencing significant financial challenges on top of it all. She works so hard for her kid, always working overtime where she can to help make ends meet, but the immense stress over the years has taken a toll, and she’s falling apart. If I was able to help her financially, I would, but I don’t have the means to do so. I’m really worried about her. 💔
WHO OUT THERE IN THEY CAR REVVING THAT SHI?!?! Drive by beacon plaza again🙏🙏
I have never seen a Cybertruck in person, until yesterday. And since then, I’ve seen 5. I guess all the Burlington orders are arriving.
They are so ridiculous looking, almost like a 6 year old designed it. 😂
Travelling to Burlington arriving on Sunday around 8pm in Toronto wondering what the best way to get the Burlington would be. Business travel so cost is irrelevant. Would go train be better than an uber?
Edit: Thanks everyone I’m going to uber or airport limo. I was holding out in case there was a very quick and comfortable train option or something, but this seems like the best. Cheers!
Wondering how an old restaurant in the city could revamp and bring in more customers. If they were to host events such as Trivia nights, game nights, single nights and the sort would it bring in a crowd or any of you. I have seen a lot of posts with people trying to find something to do in Burlington, what kind of place would you be interested in. Looking for suggestions for ppl 25+ maybe closer to 30+
Alright everybody, hope this chilly Friday evening is treating you all well. I fancy a few pints of Guiness and some fish & chips, where's the best place in Burlington to go?
There's not a lot of information about when people go on stage. Has anyone been who can give me an idea please?
Id like to hang out around ppl my age but i just moved here and idk how to spend my winter weekends 🥶👌
Did they remove the 15day street parking? New interface dont show any days for me
There were at least 8 police cars with flashing lights covering both directions.
I drove through as they seemed to be disbanding at aroung 1230 am.
Lake view from Spencer Smith Park / Waterfront Trail No filters. Just a straight shot.
