Thanks and all best :]
I am looking for a truly terrifying book. I have read lots of classic horror and am a big Stephen King fan, but I've never read a book that has made me want to stop reading or leave the light on to go to the bathroom! haha.
what do you suggest?
I'm working on a humorous romantic mystery series. The hero and heroine of one book are aspiring actors starring in their first big TV series that could make them stars. The antagonist is a famous director who is a Bill Cosby-style predator.
Which of these titles do you like the best:
Murderonline@Hollywood.sham Murder@Hollywood.sham Murder on Webcam Murder on Skype
i fear these titles will reflect only the murder mystery part of the book.
While:
will reflect only the romance part of the book.
Would that be ok or should i go for a title that reflects both, eg:
LoveandDeath@Hollywood.sham LoveandMurder@Hollywood.sham DeadlyLove@Hollywood.sham LoveYouToDeath@Hollywood.sham
i'm also open to any suggestions for a better alternative to dot sham.
Thanks a lot for any feedback.
When it comes to hard boiled crime noir, what book would be your favorite?
Two options:
Option A: Horror / sci-fi blend. Has to have a ridiculous monster bent on slaying humanity. The protagonist is a different brutal monster also bent on ending our species. The two are trying to stop each other as they know humanity will never stop them.
Option B: Subtle Myster / Thriller. A research scientist has discovered a cure for a global disease (please, not ebola) but there is a catch. He is being held hostage by a crime organization that is forcing his research for corrupt means. His discovery was an accident, he realizes the potential, and tries to escape his captors in order to share his find with the world.
For me it is Snowbeast. The movie came out in 1977, made for TV. The movie scared the *&%$$ out of me. I found out it is on Amazon prime and I watched it again, and it STILL got me. Brings back my childhood fears. The acting in the movie is beyond bad. But it worked on me. What movie do you remember which scared you, but is really bad when it comes to acting?
I thought this might be a fitting discussion for this subreddit since many urban legends fit in the horror/thriller genre. I love urban legends. I love the classics like The Hookman and the Kidney Thieves. I also like Japanese urban legends like the Slit-mouthed Woman and the Red Room Curse.
I like to remake and re-imagine urban legends, I suppose, so this will also be very helpful. I wish I could write my own urban legend =)
Hi, call me Divide. Mr. Zero if you're nasty. and horror is my jam.
