Hi guys! I've been making experimental and electronic music for a couple years now and have been trying (and failing) to make breakcore for a while. I just really struggle to chop breaks in a creative and musical way in my traditional daw, and i've not faired mutch better in trackers. (Although that might just be because i suck donkey balls in trackers) Does anybody know of any general guidelines to use when beat chopping to make it not sound bad?
Ill start bg saying im very new to music and only barely understand music theory and am bound to bandlab on my phone for production With that id love for you guys to give me pointers and help me with thia track im stuck on ill link my soundcloud so you can see my two finished projects and ill add the track im working on
Not talking about automation more for like mixing wise
I usually put a tight reverb on
Sometimes I’ll use the love filter if I’m on FL
And obv I EQ a lot
But I’m looking for some new ideas for mixing

Get ready for all of the soulless breakcore coming from the modular community.
Synths and effects? been looking at nexus just wondering if theres better for cheaper/free. Not looking at cracking anything
Right now, I'm trying to figure out cakewalk but idk if there would be a DAW out there that would be more suited for this genre of music.
Using the mpd218 drumpad, but It keeps on cutting when I get to the high hats
Is there any setting on slice x that might help me?
Like so it dosent cut when I go to the next pad
I know I can make the slice longer so it’s getting multiple hats, but it sounds different
Hey everyone,
I'm kind of new to the sound design aspects of breakcore and I want to get better at it.
I can create basic distorted kicks with sytrus and with 909 samples, but I'm not sure how to expand upon that.
I want to recreate the kicks heard in these two songs specifically:
Nekophiliac - Kagamicore

Nekophiliac - The Future Looks Bleak
https://youtu.be/PgZDgBmaG2I
If anyone can help me or direct me to a better place to ask this, that'd be very appreciated.
Thanks!
Hey
First ever track, totally new to music production. Made in Renoise and a homage to the two loves of my life Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Breakcore
I have this song which im trying to recover the sounds from so i can remake it but i can not find an amen break. if anyone has a sample called "chris.su-amen_172bpm" PLEASE send me a link of it or a sample pack called "breakcore hehe" where i could have gotten it from tysm if u can help
Renoise play through. I placed every single drum hit manually by hand and none of the patterns repeat.
I’ve never produced a thing in my life but I have the passion and the interest to try to produce breakcore. I am buying FL Studio and wanted to give this a shot. Where do I start and do you guys have any tips? Shoutout.
Combination of drum n bass percussion fused with plugnb chord progressions and 808’s. When the dnb percussions are bypass you get a whole different track in the same song. And they both mesh together !
I've never chopped a break before, I've usually just used prechopped loops because I'm lazy like that. Constructive criticism is welcome, appreciated, and also being searched for :3
I remember seeing a cool vid a while back on how to chop the amen in ableton.
It had some cool tips and tricks in it that I could really use.
I can’t find it anymore tho, I remember it was a girls voice talking in the video
Lmk what u think ✌️
hi, sorry if this is just a cookie cutter of a post here but i've never really dived into music production until now. i've taken a vast interest in this genre and kind of want to put myself out there. i don't know much about music production / theory or beatmaking in general and was wondering if anyone has any good guidance on where to start, what to look out for or good softwares etc.
thank you
Hi All, I make DnB (mostly jungle) and have been wanting to make a breakcore track for a while. I know the genre has been misinterpreted in recent years, so I wanted to reach out here for some advice to avoid common pitfalls of modern producers.
Let me know any tips/tricks/vsts/samples - whatever you feel may be helpful. Thanks!
P.s. Feel free to drop a track with some good advice, and I'll give it a listen and some feedback!
