Lobster Shells?

Does anyone know where I can find a large amount of lobster shells? I want to make some lobster stock for some upcoming culinary adventures! Slowly gathering them from cooking lobster tails is taking forever.

If your a garbageman in this city can you explain why you all feel the need to do this?

I have lived here for 2 years. This was my 3rd bin and now I have to go buy a 4th one. Am I the asshole that thinks this is beyond frustrating!? Is it too much to ask that when I buy a 40-50$ garbage bin I can assume the city workers arent going to toss it across my front yard every monday until it’s unusable. Maybe asking for a little bit of respect of peoples property is too much. Idk maybe i just need to vent.

Brantford Pop Up Street Store @ Harmony to Square

Hi everyone, I just walked by Harmony Square and discovered they're having a Pop Up Street Store.

They are providing free clothes (men, women, children, and infants), shoes, household items, and food to anyone in need. If you're having difficulty making ends meet, consider dropping by Harmony Square's Pop Up Street Store.

This program is provided by the City of Brantford and the Downtown Neighbourhood Association. Not at all affiliated with either organization, just sharing info.

Looking For Old Audio Gear

I apologize if this isn't the place to ask this question, but does Brantford have a place you can borrow, rent or whatever old playback equipment? I remember asking the public library if they had old gear, but they said "no". I'm looking to transfer a few reel-to-reel tapes, and a buddy of mine needs an 8-track machine to digitally transfer over one 8-track cartridge.

I'm hoping I don't have to travel out of town for something like this. I can only imagine how many guys have their old audio equipment gathering dust in their basements or garage. I've never had the heart to throw out working audio equipment. :-)

Best time for Farmer Market

Should I go to farmer market on Friday or Saturday? If I go when they nearly close, will they offer any discount? (Something like discount at the end of the day in supermarket)

I focus on meat variety…. I come morning Friday, but there is no pork belly, only bacon

Looking for a hairstylist / hair salon that's good at updos

I would like recommendations for a hairstylist or hair salon around Brantford, Ancaster, Hamilton, or Cambridge area that is good at / specializes in updos for special events. I've been to a few hairstylists in Brantford but they didn't quite meet my expectations for the updos I wanted. They are more used to simple updos / half updos where the hair is simply curled, braided, or in a messy bun. I am looking for someone who has more experience with more complicated updos, like what's done for Indian or middle eastern weddings.

Brantford to Paris public transit

I recently moved to Brantford and don't have a car at the moment. I've just been offered a job in Paris, but it took me over an hour to ride my bike each way.

Is there public transit of any kind that goes up to Paris? I haven't had much luck finding anything....

Thanks in advance.

Why Are We Shit at Driving?

I just came back from a trip where I visited 7 different states in the US. I never had to lay on my horn, or worry about some asshole not letting me merge on the highway. People actually get over for you so you don’t have to slam on the gas to merge. I am so used to fighting for my life out there and this trip was unexpectedly smooth.

I had family tell me before this trip that if I could drive in Toronto I could drive in the states… If you can drive in Brantford, Ontario you can drive in the states. It’s 10x worse here than anywhere I visited during my trip. So my question is why? Is this because we are so condensed? Or are we just dicks. Serious question.

Thinking about starting a knife sharpening service

I'm curious if anyone would be interested in a knife sharpening service, I can reliability get a shaving edge and working towards a reliable hair whittling edge.

I haven't started anything officially but i'm curious about interest in town

I'd like to charge $5 a knife to make it easier both it convenience of transactions and keeping is cheap for the service but worthwhile for me. If anyone is interested please let me know! I'm getting kinda broke with college keeping my work hours short so I'm trying to make an extra buck. I can likely make pickup and drop off work if needed too!

Edit Pickup and drop off available in brantford for $5 a trip ($10 for me to both pickup knives and drop them off when completed. $5 if i'm only doing one or the other)

Fall/Winter Recreational Sports

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any fun, recreational sports leagues that are open to newbies? I'm thinking soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball, etc. Even running groups would be great. I played outdoor soccer in summer through JAM and it was great! However, their fall leagues are full up.

Thanks!

Storms A Brewing In Brantford

A lady passed away this afternoon trying to climb the stairs ( elevator out again) so she could get money to pay for a cab that brought her home from the hospital obviously too early. While outside waiting for 911 to arrive my friend took this picture. R I P Helen
