Hi all, wife & I are looking for suggestions on what to do with our 6 nights in the Bordeaux region of our trip in July arriving on a Monday morning and departing the next Sunday morning. This is our first time in France but we have been to Europe before.

We will be arriving in Bordeaux on a Monday at 10:18am via the TGV INOUI. I was considering taking the next available train to Arcachon (open to other suggestions) for 2 to 3 nights and then back to Bordeaux for 2 to 3 nights before heading back to Paris from Bordeaux via train on Sunday. We depart Paris on Monday.

We are not looking to do anything overly ambitious logistically. We are both reasonable fit, have no issues walking long distances and will have no issues handling our luggage. We are open to possibly renting a car, using car service as well as other public transportation means.

We enjoy food and nightlife as well relaxation. Museums, aimless walks and drinking wine while people watching are all very welcomed activities.

Does anyone know when the attraction will be open again? I read that farmers ruined it and it’s been closed since. I’ll be there for a short holiday at the end of May and would love to see it again. I thought it was beautiful and fun.

I'm a 35F from Canada, and I'm gearing up for my first solo adventure in Europe this June. While I'll be joining friends for most of the trip, I've decided to extend my stay with a week of solo travel. It's a bit nerve-wracking but also really exciting :).

So far, I've only booked my flight to Bordeaux, and that's about it—no hotels reserved yet. I'll have about 6 days total. I'm into experiencing new cultures, I love food, wine, cocktails, live music, staying active, and hiking. Some of my favourite countries I've traveled to are New Zealand, Norway, Italy, and Japan, if that helps paint a picture of what I'm in to.

Here are a few questions I'd love some help with:

1. Meeting other solo travelers in Bordeaux: I'd love some recommendations on how to connect with fellow solo travelers in Bordeaux. Are there any specific spots or activities where solo travelers tend to gather and socialize?
2. Duration in Bordeaux vs. elsewhere in France: Given my interests, how long would you recommend staying in Bordeaux versus exploring another spot in France? I'm open to suggestions for other places that are easy to reach from Bordeaux (Note: I have already been to Paris, Reims, Metz, and Le Blanc).
3. General tips: Any other advice or tips? Would love any recommendations for places eat, shop, and drink ;).

Salut! I will go to Bordeaux on the next semester for a 6 months exchange, and my mother will be coming with me, as she would like to have English/French courses in Bordeaux. And for that, she will apply for a Visiteur Long Séjour visa. Do you guys know any schools that offer English/French courses for 6 consecutive months? I can only find schools that give a weekly course, and I'm afraid that, if my mother applies for a visa only with a 1 week course, she will have her visa application denied.

bonjour ! i’m a tourist coming to bordeaux for the second time in a few weeks. a couple years ago i was here and i remember that i went with some friends to a bar called “cancan” that was a speakeasy disguised as a library. it was really cool and had some chic mysterious vibes, we really wanted to go again this time but see on google maps that it’s sadly closed. does anyone have a suggestion for some similar, speakeasy-type bars to check out? thanks:)

bonjour, je voudrais passer environ six mois sur bordeaux pour étudier et suivre quelques cours de français. je suis japonais et ce sera ma premiere fois en europe (mon anglais n’est pas extrêmement bon non plus😅) mais je suis inquiete parce que en français j’ai un niveau assez faible à l’oral, je dirais entre A2 et B1 mais plus proche à a2, j’essaie beaucoup de m’ameliorer avec des vidéos mais j’ai des difficultes à comprendre… à votre avis serait-il possible de vivre seul à bordeaux pour un semestre si on ne parle pas du tout couramment le français ? est-ce que les gens seront embetés si tu ne parles pas encore très bien ? serait-il difficile de se faire des amis ?

Also, I noticed many YouTubers saying how great Bordeaux is and then in their video the first thing they do is tell you to go outside of Bordeaux to a nearby village.... I don't want to drive. Can I have a good week in Bordeaux without leaving the city or would I be missing out?

Avec le soleil qu’on a dans la région, Pourquoi n’y a t’il aucun toit dans le centre ville de Bordeaux équipé de panneaux solaire? Toute cette surface perdue à la production d’électricité, ça n’est pas très écologique.
