As a fan of Amitabh Bachchan, I have watched Agneepath (1992) numerous times. Recently, I had the chance to re-watch Deewaar (1975). I was very young when I first watched it so I wanted a refresh. Halfway through watching Deewaar, I started experiencing déjà vu. Initially, I thought I might be mistaken. However, as the movie progressed, I noticed several striking similarities between the two films. Although I haven't researched this topic in depth, here are some observations I've made. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Agneepath: At the beginning, the father sides with the village people and is punished.
Deewaar: At the beginning, the father sides with the factory workers, gets into trouble, and punishes himself.
Agneepath: Due to the father's death, the family is displaced and left on the street.
Deewaar: Due to the father's disappearance, the family is displaced and left on the street.
Agneepath: The mother, with two kids, is on the street trying to survive, and the bad guys pick on her.
Deewaar: The mother, with two kids, works hard labor, gets picked on, and loses her job.
Agneepath: Young AB throws a stone at the bad guy and hurts him, getting lectured afterward.
Deewaar: Young AB throws a stone at the bad manager, hurting him, and gets lectured afterward.
Agneepath: As a young kid, AB faces hardships and becomes a tough guy.
Deewaar: As a young kid, AB faces hardships and becomes a tough guy.
Agneepath: AB grows up to be a tough guy who wants to give his mother her village back.
Deewaar: AB grows up to be a tough guy who wants to buy the building where his mother worked as a laborer.
Agneepath: AB gets close to a nurse and relies on her for support away from his family, eventually getting her pregnant.
Deewaar: AB meets a girl in a bar, gets close to her, and relies on her for emotional support away from his family, eventually getting her pregnant.
Agneepath: AB becomes a big-time don feared by people and is on the police's radar.
Deewaar: AB becomes a big-time don feared by people, also on the police's radar, and that's how his brother finds out.
Agneepath: AB picks up the villain and throws him into the fire.
Deewaar: AB picks up the villain and throws him out the window from a building.
Agneepath: AB is shot at the end and dies in his mother's lap wearing a white sari.
Deewaar: AB is shot at the end and dies in his mother's lap wearing a whitel sari.
So, is this common knowledge? Thoughts?
Also what's his best performance as an actor
Which is the best danced Bollywood song? Some of my favorites: Main Aisa Kyun Hoon? - Hrithik Roshan, Chamma Chamma (Chinagate) - Urmila Matondkar
You know the antagonist in a movie did a great job if you feel hate for him from the core of your heart. The best character in Kill was Fani. For the things he did, Amrit should have absolutely torn him apart to pieces and beaten him to a pulp but instead just puches him 7-8 times. Amongst all the gore and brutality in the whole movie, Fani’s death was the least gruesome I felt.
I just feel his death scene should have shown a way more ghastly and horrible death. As an audience, all my pent up hatred and resentment towards him didn’t vanish after just 7-8 punches. He deserved a better (or worse in this case) death is all I have to say.
Anyone else felt the same?
MNIK is my all time favourites. Today I decided to re-watch it after so many years....have been searching all the ott apps but it is nowhere to be found. What's the reason for this?
So I’m basically from UP (Lucknow) and I LOVE MOVIES! especially the ones in which the actors have the UP kinda accent. For example: bareliy ki barfi and Badrinath ki dulhania. If you have any recommendations similar to these then pls suggest
W Story
W Acting by Ranveer
W Songs
If we see box office, jawan, the 2nd highest grosser earned approx half of what dangal grossed and that is unadjusted for inflation!
I see a lot of posts on people complaining about remakes. Most recently the news about House being remade with Nawazuddin had a hate post. I just don’t get why anyone would hate remakes? How does a remake ruin original? Are remakes forced to edit the original? Are everyone forced to watch the remake if you like the original. If you don’t like remakes, just don’t watch it. Ignore that it exists. It literally makes no difference to how much you would like the original. Why the hate? I just think people hate on it to look cool that they have watched the original. Thoughts?
Me personally, it has to be Farhan. The movie starts with him, the story is told from his perspective, he has his own character development etc.
I would say Rancho is more of a deuteragonist, since he's an important character for the protagonist and plays a big role in shaping his life.
1)Rangeela
2)Satya
3)Kaun
4)company
5)Bhoot
Sarkar(series)
Rakht charitra 1 and 2
8)Attacks of 26/11
no nudity can have kiss scene but not much no profanity but can be considered if are in limit and not that bad Hindi ones
Since it's release Kill has been haild as The masterpiece in the actions genre. And last night I watched it and I found it worth the hype. But it really surprise me that people only talked about Gori violence, nexcellent action choreography and Raghav's performance. But there were several aspects which totally got ignored. As:
1- The depiction of 'Cult like generational decoits' is totally new for the new age audience. This type of cult whose family profession used to be murdering and looting people used to be existed in India. The film got it very well. Sometimes it felt like villain and the protagonist are from different timeline (18th century and 2000s respectively)
2- Film has no drama and no unnecessary fast to slow motion action choreography.
3- the film has superb shock value as some deaths in the movie were really shocking.
4- Apart from main characters all the supporting characters did fantastic job and made the movie more enjoyable.
If you love action movies I recommend the movie Kill to everyone
Day 16: Most Iconic Role by Ranveer Singh
Hey everyone! Day 15 was a total throwback to the magic of Bollywood, and after some passionate voting, Deepika Padukone’s debut role as Shantipriya in Om Shanti Om has been crowned her most iconic! Absolute classic! But let’s not forget her other incredible performances like Piku, Mastani, and Rani Padmavati, Deepika truly is a force to reckon with. Big thanks to everyone who voted and shared their love for her iconic roles. You guys are amazing!
Now, let’s shift gears to Day 16 because today, we’re talking about the one and only Ranveer Singh! This man is a storm of energy, a master of versatility, and honestly, one of the most unpredictable and exciting actors in Bollywood. But which one stands out as his most iconic?
What’s Ranveer Singh’s most iconic role to date?
Is it the ruthless and menacing Alauddin Khilji from Padmaavat, who gave us chills with his intensity? Or the raw and real Murad from Gully Boy, who made us believe in the power of dreams? Maybe it’s the flamboyant and eccentric Bajirao from Bajirao Mastani, who stole our hearts with his passion and pain? Or perhaps you’re still rooting for his debut as Bittoo Sharma, the Delhi boy with big dreams? The options are endless, and I can’t wait to hear your picks!

The film will mark Ibrahim's debut in Bollywood
Excerpt from the great movie Sarkar. After watching it, I realised it was well curated.
I (not from India) have been really interested in getting into Bollywood/Indian movies in recent years but don't know where to start. I've only ever watched a few Indian films and would like to ask what recommendations you all have for me based on what I've seen:
Dhoom 3
Ek Tha Tiger
Ghajini
Baahubali 1 & 2
We Are Family
Taare Zameen Par
Three Idiots
My Name is Khan
Neerja
Hotel Mumbai
tl;dr - new to Bollywood/Indian films. Recommend new films based on my watched list. Thank you!
He had such softness on me in all these roles. For me his characters like Aman worked more for me then SRK's Raj!
Kriti Sanon in Do patti reminds me of early 2010s Deepika.
