Based on the bits and pieces we hear of Diane’s writing, in One Trick Pony, Girl Croosh posts, and her attempts at good damage, I like her writing style. I want to read something from someone with a similar writing style
Idk if I just missed a memo, but everytime I’m on here I see so many people hating on pickles just cause she’s annoying. I wonder if anyone has any other reasons for hating her
Tonight I could feel my anxiety setting in. All my video games are auto pilot villages. No new shows catch my attention. Chasing things like fulfillment don't scratch that itch for meaning anymore than entertainment, but at least I have fun with entertainment. So much ennui.
I'd already gone on a walk and it's too cold to just wander Chicago. So I was finally resigning myself to a workout. To alleviate the anxiety until the workout high kicked in, I put Bojack on, starting something like rewatch #15 by now. I honestly was feeling so buried in a sense of purposelessness that the temptation to prematurely check out might resurface.
And then it was the end of episode one, and Diane asked "what would make you happy?"
Just like that, it clicked back into place again. The anxiety is coming from the internal expectation to pursue and achieve happiness. I keep expecting with the resources I have, I should be happy. I expect that with time, health, and competence, I should at least be able to get the right direction for achieving happiness. But that's as much the same fallacy as chasing an Oscar. Happiness is a consequence of living in the universe and valuing our efforts in spite of existential circumstances, including the intuitive desire to chase happiness. Happiness comes from caring about any number of things that aren't being happy. Thanks for following me on this rant.
In the episode itself Herb tells Bojack the entire place is just his brain going through what he feels he needs to, but does that mean all of what was said by everyone there was untrue? For example, did Crackerjack only say he never killed a nazi because Bojack wanted to prove he wasn’t as great as he said? Were things like Secretariat being Bojack’s dad all mean to tie together that nobody there was real, or is there some truth to the situation? And if so, what is truth and what is fiction?
For me it's the tital character, I do love the writing behind Bojack of how he's a multi layer character who relapse this making him more real but if I met him in real life, I would not tolerate his behavior whatsoever no matter how difficult his upbringing was, I see myself throwing hands with him.
im luca
do we think the author of Tender Is The Flesh got their idea from this episode? this is mainly a joke post but the parallels are funny especially since it came out 2 years before the book was published
Since we never see her, what do you think she looks like, or if ur arty try drawing her as what you think she looks like
Just finished the show for the 2nd time this year, lost count how many times overall I've watched, but I love the ending we get, on the conversations he had and the resolution of his relationship with Diane, and even if people want to stop at the the view from halfway down at the end of the episode after the flatline there's the monitor beeping again.
Bojack Horseman (Seen here sneezing on Marisa Tomei) has won a landslide election.
[ I did see two commentators asking for the sneeze picture. You shall receive ! ]
Point Totals: | Bojack: 5,332 | | Beatrice Horseman: 66 🥈 |
Angela Diaz, Todd, Sarah Lynn, Ana Spannakopita, Dr. Champ, Biscuits Braxby, Diane, Joseph Sugarman, Rutabaga Rabbitowitz - All received less than 10 votes per person.
Rewatching the series and thought why not :) I love that they included so many ferrets!
Guy always reminds me a lot of my boyfriend, and Rutabaga does a little too (when he is nice to PC).
I'm honestly confused by something. I was trying to remember the name Bojack had on the show Horsin Around, and I couldn't remember. Everyone just calls him the horse, but I thought it was because he was a horse. And the kids just call him dad on the show. Was his name really just "Horse"? Or are we not meant to know?
I feel dumb right now. Did I miss the point this all time, through five or so rewatches?
I feel like if Diane had told him, "Yeah, I think deep down everyone's a good person," rather than saying that she didn't think there was a deep down and all that we are is all that we do, things would have turned out differently.
That's not to blame Diane for anything, just speculation. (I guess what I really mean to ask is: does your definition of a good person affect the kind of person you are? Does thinking you're a good person affect who you are?)
I absolutely can’t stand Mr.PeanutButter and I don’t understand why so many people like him. He’s not the worst person in the show but he’s not a good person. He only dates people half of his age, and then wonders why they outgrow him. He is dumb on purpose and has no intention on acting his age which again is pushing 50. He’s a cheater and if you don’t agree with him he wears you down until you give in. And even though he knows it’s very wrong for him to be with Pickles he shows no remorse.
First words of the subheader are "The esteemed character actress" :D
I'm rewatching Season 1. Diane was a nerdy homely freelance writer with no money - how did she end up getting two major celebs fighting over her? I just didn't get that at all lol
his whole deal is that he’s a chill guy who lowkey was pretty famous back in the 90’s
I wanted to show some appreciation about the fact that it's a given that Bojack isn't good at sex, some other shows with the same kind of protagonist like Bojack they're portrayed as great in bed, whereas we get to see that his hookups are disappointing in one way or the other, I liked that aspect of the show because there's no way someone as old, as drunk and into drugs as Bojack would be great in the sack.
