Anyone know where I can get a trailer for a Malibu 23 mxz?

Bought a boat on auction no trailer and trying to find one so I can pick it up. Does anyone know any dealers or anyone selling one? East coast or Texas. Thanks

Don't you just love the moddish almost art-deco styling of 60s Chris-Crafts?

Looking through the boat listings and I love the 60s Chris-Craft trawlers and cruisers that have this kind of look. If I ever happen to find one near me I might just buy it up, even if it doesn't run and use it as a waterfront condo.

What is your opinion on stripping down old wooden boats for wood recycling?

There are some century old tug boats and ferries that come up for sale occasionally on various boat selling websites. Sometimes when no one can be found to restore the vessel, they end up in the hands of wood recyclers who disassemble the vessels piece by piece, take any wood that isn't rotted, strip off any lead paint, then plane and slice the antique timbers into veneers that can be worth many thousands of dollars. Vintage teak an mahogany veneers from the hull can be worth many thousands of dollars. What is your opinion of this practice?

Here's an example of the type of old boat a wood recycler might go for:

How difficult is it to sell a large boat?

My wife and I live in Massachusetts and have been debating getting a sailboat for sometime. We mostly plan on just doing trips to MV and along the ME and CT coast.

We’ve been eying a Beneteau 57 for a while, but we’re concerned that it’ll be difficult to sell, as we don’t plan on keeping it for more than a few years.

Does anyone have experience with selling a boat like this? How long does it typically take to unload?

Who can afford $12,000 in maintenance per year for a little runabout?

I live in Upstate, NY and was at a classic boat show recently and saw someone with one of those beautiful Chris Craft wooden runabouts and he said that maintenance costs on these run around $12,000 per year, and if you aren't spending that much then the boat is rotting away on you.

I’m buying a boat off Facebook marketplace. Is there a checklist of things I should ask or see?

Am I just completely delusional or do the numbers sound about right?

The boat is $15,000. I'm thinking it needs around $185,000 to make it into a decent houseboat. $200,000 all in for a really unique floating home.
