I’m looking for clarity on filming .
I have a bmpcc4k with a cheap 50mm canon lens . Planning on getting the sigma 18-75. Or suggested lens for filming gym content and car content.
To get into the questions
I’ve shot vertical once and I had a tough time cropping it in post. ( davinci resolve ) I usually upload to social media platforms but when I do it’s really zoomed in . Is there any way to fix this ? Is it a lens change I’ll have to make or something else?
I shoot weddings and am a beginner filmmaker. Now, I am chaning my camera and I have found 2 second hand cameras arround same price, but, I do not know which one to choose. For the wedding I sometimes run and the camera shakes a bit, so, I do not know if old Ursa would be good when I stabilize it in post process. ANY ADVICE :)
Hey, I'm looking for a simple EF-M43 adapter but I'm unsure which is the best for me. I wanna adapt a sigma 18-35 EF to my BMPCC4K, but I don't wanna use a speedbooster as I like the ~35-65 focal length. Which adapter should I go for? I just want something safe and solid that'll keep the lens locked in place properly without any wiggles.
What is the most versatile and future proof mount Option when it come to the New 6k models, and why ?
I feel embarrassed to even have to ask this but how do you hold your camera? I have a bmpcc4k and I have a lot of trouble rigging it up in a way that's useful and comfortable to hold when shooting handheld. My wrists always start to hurt after like 5 minutes. Anybody have some tips? Some photo examples would be very useful if possible
EDIT: Specifically, I have trouble figuring out how to hold it comfortably, while being able to pull focus.
Been wanting to get into the Blackmagic scene for a while now to finally upgrade from my DSLR and iPhone for video stuff, saw this on marketplace and looks like a pretty good deal, It come with a smallrig cage, battery grip and monitor hood as well.
I also already own a sigma 18-35 as well as a Samsung t7 which I heard pairs well with this camera. Thoughts if I should pull the trigger?
What is the best storage I could get for my bmpcc 4K?
Being completely transparent. The 6K Pro puts out my favorite image and color BUT the body has always made rigging it up and mounting such a pain.
The tilta cage also doesn’t always hold up The best. I also feel like this camera screams “DP” vs the content creator build of the 6K.
Love that the screen is on the side and actually accessible.
Definitely will be looking into the PYXIS when it drops just on exterior build. Going to compare specs soon!
Took the IR filter out as I thought it needed a clean. Turns out I need a new one as it’s either mould or corroded.
my question is what kind of adhesive or glue do I need to use when putting the new one in the ring?
I don’t want to use superglue or something too strong as it may need to be replaced again in the future.
Thanks 🙏
Hi I'm not really a tech guy or good with this kind of stuff so I'd like to ask you guys about this. I recently bought Samsung t7 shield (ssd) and (wd my passport (hdd) for back up to my pictures and videos. I buy both to make sure my data will be save, my question is do I need to to something first before using and copying my data? Or can I used them directly already?
I bought my Blackmagic Pocket 6k camera in may of 2019 and have had an amazing time with this camera. However, last year I decided to upgrade the firmware for the first time. The version at the time, 7.9.2, was the newest one out and I decided to upgrade to that. The update appeared to be successful and I properly followed the steps. After this point, however, it seems as though I am receiving serious noise at various ISO's, even the recommended 400 and 3200. I use this camera for short films, and film in very similar situations and the difference is apparent. I followed another posters advice in the BMD forum who was going through a similar situation and downgraded to 7.9.1 which gave me a better image but still notably worse than factory. I can't find anyone speaking on this issue and after talking to BMD support they haven't encountered this before, don't have a fix yet, and can't tell me what the original firmware that came with the camera was.
I included a google drive with raw samples and with a rec709 lut applied in post. The grain can be seen while filming on the LCD screen and an HDMI output as well as recordings. I have attached some sample images from before and after the update at various iso's in similar situations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Youtube recently decided to delete my channel for no apparent reason and so if you remember me from posting the above video in here previously it would be awesome to reconnect everyone! Have a start a fresh but keen to produce some new content. Hope everyone's having a great day and I'm definitely keen for the new bm pyxis!
Hey, anybody know of a good budget evf for the bmpcc4k? I'm tryna build a smaller rig, so an evf, especially one that doesn't require a battery, would be pretty useful.
The new lineup is awesome some and really aims for professionals. What do you guys think, will there be a new pocket lineup in the future? I mean really pocket like the og? I own a 6kpro and i am happy How capable this camera is but something smaller without internal nds would be awesome.
Hey there, I’m sorry if this is not the place/forum to ask this, but like the title says I’m looking for the most reliable online place to sell and buy gear, that isn’t as complicated as eBay ( I’m in the eu). For now I wanted to sell an anamorphic I have, later other lenses and a rig. Given I really like this group, the engagement and true interest, I think there are no better people to help me with this. Thanks everyone for your time. And again, sorry if this is not the place to ask.
Just a discussion about the new cameras and accessories, we’ve all been waiting for the box camera… but did anyone expect something sitting at the V-Raptor / Burano price point from Blackmagic?
Hi all, I often color grade the BRAW footage from my BMPCC 4k in Premier and rip out stills for photos (I'm a one-man band taking promo photos with video since it gives me lots of flexibility), but I'm interested in color grading in Lightroom. I know I can't use BRAW videos in Lightroom, but I'm wondering which file type I can convert the BRAW footage to with minimal/zero quality loss and if that's even possible. Any tips greatly appreciated!
