Hi yall, I finished my final draft of my first novel. Anyway I recently have been working on my blurb. Please give me feed back.
My book is a dystopian book for young adults
In a world divided by fear and prejudice, an uneasy peace has been shattered. For generations, humans have lived in the safety of their sanctuaries, convinced that the monsters they cast out were the embodiment of evil. These so-called 'devil spawn' were driven into the edges of the city, forced to carve out an existence amid the shadows of humanity's disdain.
But the monsters are not what they seem. They are not demons, but beings fighting for survival, for their right to exist. In the face of relentless persecution, they have endured, evolved, and united. Now, they are rising. Led by a young man, Aster, who had been cast out of the capital, the monsters' rebellion ignites a civil war against the zealously religious humans who once sought their eradication. As the conflict escalates, the lines between right and wrong blur, and both sides must confront their own truths.
In "Burning Heaven," alliances are tested, beliefs are shattered, and a new order is forged from the ashes of the old. Who will triumph in this epic struggle for freedom? Discover a breathtaking tale of courage, redemption, and the power of understanding in a world torn apart by fear.
Hi! I hope yo can help me. I'm planning on doing a free book promotion for my book on kindle/amazon. However last time I shared my low sales stats on FB (can't remember which group) and I got an overwhelming bad reaction to my blurb, some calling it terrible writing. I felt awful, the worst part was only a few of them offered advice, and it was so general I didn't know what to do.
So I'm looking to get a better blurb before I do the promotion. Now, I've written my blurb about 50 times, and apparently I just can't get it right. maybe this is one of the things I struggle to get right, and it's harder for me to concise my whole book or premise on just a few paragraphs. maybe it's not a skill of mine. I will be sharing my blurb and I will really appreciate helpful advice, as I really need it. I would be really thankful! and please don't be rude, i got enough of that in my last post.
Blurb:
SOME HAVE KILLED TO KEEP THE TRUTH HIDDEN,
SOME WILL KILL TO REVEAL IT.
When mysterious men kidnap sixteen-year old Clover, they think they are killing her. But they end up giving her the power to fight back instead. After putting stars in her blood as part of some secret experiments, Clover gains magical abilities, something that she never thought possible. It is then when she realizes how little she knows about the world.
The only thing Clover wants after escaping is to run away, but that would mean leaving those she cares about behind. And so she starts the search for the truth and for her loved ones.
If she fails, she will never see her family again, as she witness the world start to fall apart.
++thank you reading!!
Grady just turned eighteen and the last thing he wanted was to have a golden collar around his neck fighting for his life for beings he thought only existed in story books. He wants nothing more than for this nightmare to end, he just has to listen to Phobe ( Pho-for short ) the titan goddess of prophecy and oracular intellect.
After all, he has been branded.
By which God, Phobe can't say until his three trials are up, and he proves to be the best representation to appease the rest. All Grady can do is survive, even if it means becoming someone he can no longer recognize. Only then he can be free....after all God's Never Lie.
The myth of Persephone and Hades meets the fairytale of Cinderella in this debut New Adult novel by _____.
When Cora discovers a black dog in the woods, she thinks he’s just a friendly stray—not Cerberus, guardian of the Underworld and shepherd to the dead. And when she meets his handsome master, Hades, the last thing she thought she’d hear was a marriage proposal intended to save her life—from her mother, no less.
After finding friendship with a winged siren, tutelage from a goddess of war, and the blessings of a mysterious witch, Cora learns of the looming threat of war and the true identity of her parentage. And even as her health steadily fails her, her love and lust bloom as unexpectedly as flowers in the land of the dead—and she’s no longer sure that staying an arm's length from Hades is what she really wants.
To defy her stepmother, Cora must return to Earth, but not without first becoming the Queen that the Underworld needs.
FOR WHERE ELSE DO FLOWERS BEGIN TO GROW BUT DEEP WITHIN THE DARK?
I find the blurb the most difficult part, I'm really bad at them, please help.
Blurb 1:

Blurb 2: The era of robot police officers has arrived, and Amelia is thrilled to finally own one. She is a dedicated officer joining a police force rife with anti-robot sentiment. Despite his apparent lack of emotions, Amelia can't shake the belief that he might feel the same way. Together, they must navigate a dangerous world teeming with extremists who seek to destroy them both.
Blurb 3: Amelia, a dedicated police officer, transfers to an American precinct to fulfill her dream of owning a robot. Amelia must navigate a world of danger and prejudice, while questioning the boundaries between human and machine.
I'd really appreciate any help that you can give.
Hey, I'm running a Booksirens ARC and they keep saying my download rate is lower than what is usual and that I should consider my blurb and tagline. My book is a bit of a "slow-burn slice of life comedic fantasy horror mystery", but a funny fantasy novel with some darker themes probably is a better description.

Here's the cover in Imgur.
Hi all! Any and all feedback is appreciated, though I'm mostly concerned with whether it grabs your attention and/or gives too much away. Thanks!
Sparks hasn’t gone by her real name in eight years. To do so would be dangerous, drawing attention from those who want to exploit her powers - the ability to control electricity. Her anonymity is her prized possession in the war against those that killed her mother. At least, that’s what Jack, her abusive boyfriend, has always said.
But when Jack starts leading her into an increasingly dangerous set of heists, Sparks begins to question whether his allegiance is to her or to his own gain. And when a local vigilante begins to meddle with Jack’s burgeoning criminal empire, Sparks must choose whether to protect the hero or herself.
In a world where Sparks has no one to trust, she meets Astrid, a friendly barista who always has a warm drink and a smile. As her two worlds collide, Sparks is faced with the intersection of their friendship and her secret life.
Sparks is caught between an impossible choice. Does she stay loyal to her lifelong duty - and to the abusive man behind it - or does she risk it all for her own personal happiness and her affinity with the local barista? Sparks must decide who she can trust with her secrets, and if she even has the strength to leave.
Isn't this part of writing just the worst? If I ever find a genie...
Anyway, blurb possibility that could use some polish or suggestions, please.

What if we don't even remember how to bring the walls down...
Thomas
I've been alone pretty much my whole life.
So when an older man saved me from a night stranded in the forest, it didn't take much more for me to attach. His muscles and his smile didn't hurt.
I wanted a chance encounter to turn to something else, but it always hurt more when it failed.
Is it worth it to even try?
John
I ran from my pack at an early age. Werewolves aren't supposed to be gay, they're supposed to find their fated mate. But I never found mine.
The road my only companion, I was a lone wolf for decades, leaving anyone that ever tried to get close.
Then the rules changed and suddenly I wasn't a pariah.
So I headed home.
But when I rescued Thomas in the woods, I felt that attraction and knew I was in dangerous territory. My instincts told me this young man needed to be protected at all costs.
Even if I had to protect him from myself.
I have finished writing my first ever book, but have never been proficient in wiring a blurb. I am not opposed to using AI to help with content and ideas, but I am afraid it lacks emotion.
Please give your honest opinion on my blurb, feedback on what I could change, and if it is interesting enough for and future readers (if I have any).
In the heart of adversity, she found strength forged in the fires of her past. From a childhood marred by her father's cruelty, she emerged, a survivor. Forced into a marriage to a sadistic king, her destiny seemed sealed, yet in the arms of a stranger, she discovered unexpected tenderness that bloomed into love.
Together, they built a life filled with hope and the laughter of their children. But when shadows from her past returned with merciless intent, threatening all she held dear, she confronted the source of her lifelong torment.
As the dust settled and echoes of battle faded, it had seemed she made the ultimate sacrifice.
Hello! I am looking for feedback on my blurb I'm working on for my psychological horror/drama novel HALLS OF SORROW. It's the first novel I've finished, and I am wondering what could be added/removed/or altered to help make it work and interesting. Thanks in advance!
Blurb:
There is a difference between a home and a house…
A lonely writer loses everything he’s written in an apartment fire. A struggling artist’s life crumbles after the death of her husband. An ambitious realtor becomes broken when he's suddenly fired from his career. And a mysterious house calls their names…
Larger on the inside than the outside, it beckons for them to enter, ready to consume what’s left of who they are. Infinite corridors swallow them whole, digesting their souls, and feeding an endless emptiness which echoes with a hunger that can never be satiated.
Ensnared in its trap, they must encounter their deepest and darkest failures, insecurities, and regrets, before they’re lost within its halls of sorrow…
Forever.
*edit: changed up the third paragraph to read what it reads now, vs. the previous line: "...feeding an endless hunger which echoes with an emptiness that can never be satiated." Which, in my opinion, didn't make as much sense, compared to how it reads now.
Hey all,
I'm working on my blurb with the intent of using it to find some beta readers in the future, and would love some insight on it. I'm trying to balance not sharing the whole plot, while also giving enough to make a reader interested. (I worry it's a bit too long, but this is a first attempt.)
BLURB
For eleven-year-old Ella Edwards, acing her science project, and winning a trip to Space Camp is the most important thing in the world. But when her project gets destroyed by a group of ex-best friends, and her anxiety causes her to puke in front of the whole 5th grade, that dream feels further away than the moon itself.
That night, Ella meets Mayhem “May” Vamp, a strange girl with a sunlight allergy, whose favorite game is pretending she is a vampire. In an attempt to forget about her disastrous day, Ella plays along, until she realizes that May and her family truly are vampires. Worse still, they all seem to think Ella is one of them, and they want her to come with them on a trip to the moon in search of the secret ingredient for vampire sunscreen.
Thrilled by the opportunity to prove that she has what it takes to be an astronaut, Ella continues to lie about who she is. As her friendship with May grows, the lies continue to progress until they finally catch up to her on a spaceship full of monsters. If Ella can’t control her anxiety, and confront her desire to change who she is to fit in, she might not make it back home.
Hi
I finally finished my new novel and am currently thinking about the blurb. Which I find much harder than writing the story. Here is what I came up with:
After a coup d'état, the kingdom of Albin is on the brink of war against the enigmatic and powerful Nature Born, a force shrouded in mystery, hidden in the forest of Vardheim.
Having fled their homeland, the king's children and their childhood friends find themselves in a situation that challenges their beliefs. As they try to avert the approaching war, they are forced to question the certainty of their convictions about being on the right side of the conflict.
Who are their real enemies? The usurper back at home or the Nature Born with their fanatic belief in the Divine Tree?
Was the coup a necessary evil for the good of the kingdom? Or was there another path, a peaceful one?
My problem with the blurb are that half of the blurb are questions, not sure if that is a good idea. But I wanted to show that in this novel, not everything is what it looks like. That there is no black or white only different shades of grey.
Hi Thanks in advance. I have an 85k word suspense/thriller with a dash of nature survival and a pinch of mystery. It’s called In The Watershed.
here is an updated blurb:
Brody had a simple idea: grab a redeye and confront his ex on the East Coast. Find closure. Move on. Enjoy life with no strings attached. Instead, he’s leading terrified strangers through a freak storm after surviving a plane crash. The terrorist had a manifesto: grab a redeye and confront a large crowd of people with a homemade bomb. Find closure. Get revenge. End their own life with a purpose. Instead, they’re stranded on a mountain and mad enough to kill. Freezing and injured, Brody urges the dwindling survivors to recount their watershed moments rather than dwelling on their hopeless situation. Can the stories offer enough clues to identify who wants them dead? Each step down the mountain brings the group closer to escape, but the further they advance, the bolder the killer becomes.
Thanks for taking a look.
Firstly, thank you so much. This community has been so much help in getting started and continuing to write and publish. I love you guys.
That said, I'd love even more help with this blurb, especially the first line, it needs a lot of work.
It's for an opposites attract paranormal romance
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object...

I had a history of making bad choices. But I'd moved to Oak Crossing determined to make this time different.
I wouldn't fall for the first cute guy I saw, or move too fast, I'd make sure he was my fated mate this time.
Then I met him and I'm ready to make all the same mistakes.
Jonathan
Oak Crossing was a boring, small town to most. But that meant peaceful, contemplative. It was the perfect place for the pensive to live.
But when he shows up and all I can do is feel, I bail. Fast.
Am I seeking solace in the serenity?
Or am I running from the best thing that could ever happen?
Thank you!
I am working on making a coloring book on blurb and am uncertain which format on blurb will have the best paper for coloring. The magazine is most affordable but the photo book has options for different papers.
the book is mandala-themed and would work for all ages.
Been working on this blurb for a bit and I'm definitely at the "pulling-my-hair" stage with it, any help is appreciated!
Title: Alpha's Submission WIP
Paranormal Romance
Blurb:
Fate is never straightforward, but it isn't usually this cruel...
As the strongest, toughest, and fastest werewolf in our pack, I was on the cusp of gaining everything I'd ever wanted. Soon, I'd leave with a few followers to form my own pack, as Alpha.
All I needed was my fated mate.
I'd imagined her perfectly for years: smart, cute, great body. All I had to do was wait for fate to hand her over.
But fate had other plans.
When I met him my dreams started to waver. Who was going to follow a gay Alpha?
When I kissed him, my dreams started to crack*.* How could I live without him?
When I started to submit to him, my dreams started to shatter. Who was going to follow a submissive Alpha?
But now I have to choose, do I want to be Alpha or in love...
Hello! I’m self-publishing my debut this year and wanted some fresh eyes on my blurb! It’s on the longer side, so any thoughts on tightening it up would be appreciated!
Vivian doesn’t want to sign over her soul to the Dark Lady, the ruler of Hell—a requirement for all witches upon turning eighteen. Something in her is telling her to run.
So she does.
Ten years after doing the unthinkable, Vivian still lives with one foot out the door, paranoid the Dark Lady will find her and demand what she kept for herself. She denounces all magic, burying her own unique earth magic away.
When it finally breaks free, the Dark Lady tracks her down--but instead of demanding Vivian’s soul, she asks for her help instead. Covens have been disappearing under mysterious circumstances, and the Dark Lady needs Vivian’s magic to discover what—or who—is responsible. Suddenly, Vivian finds herself stuck working with the literal Devil.
But Vivian sees the Dark Lady’s desperation and uses it to her advantage: she will help, but only if she gets to keep her soul.
Begrudgingly, the Dark Lady agrees.
What Vivian doesn’t understand is the Dark Lady will never let her go, no matter what bargains they strike.
Vivian and the Dark Lady travel from to different covens, trying to solve this mystery while grappling with neglected magic and this budding, forbidden attraction towards one another. As her connection to both her magic and to the Dark Lady gets stronger, Vivian uncovers the horrible truth: the witches have been murdered by something more dangerous than the Devil.
Hi, I'm indie publishing my novel later this year and want to get the blurb ship-shape. It's gone through multiple revisions already and I've become blind to it with my endless tweaking, so all advice and suggestions are really welcome!!
The Old Gods are the Worst.
In the city, industrial magic is booming, and Kailas Darkchar's ability to dispel magic has become more of a curse than a blessing. The only person to see any value in her talent is an old Mayqsa priest who offers a bag of gold in return for one simple task. All Kailas must do is venture deep into the heart of the desolate Ithos Darg forest - blighted by the Black Bane - and bring out the mortal remains of his god.
When Kailas refuses, the priest's entreaties turn to threats and she has to flee for her life. But nowhere is safe. A golden-eyed stranger finds her and delivers a chilling warning. The Mayqsa are inflamed by their holy mission to raise their god and will stop at nothing to have her. Kailas must do their bidding before the next blood moon, or their religion is cursed to dust.
The stranger vows to keep her safe, but something about him doesn't ring true. He appears to be following his own agenda, one with roots reaching back thousands of years.
As old legends come to life, Kailas must unravel the stranger’s true purpose while evading the Mayqsa. Without knowing who to trust, she must face an immortal enemy, counter the old gods, and push her ability beyond its limits.
For, if the Mayqsa succeed, the world will burn.
I’m working with an author who is releasing book 3 in his young adult Christian fiction series. The blurb needs some work, but not sure what. Ideas?
There are Four Truths Four Truths given by God and proclaimed by the priests. They are the foundation of all life inside and outside of the Spire. They keep everyone in their place as is proper before God.
Sharn doesn’t care about Truths. He only cares about begging or stealing enough to survive. He knows the stories; how the world had collapsed and all of society had moved to the great Spires to survive. He knows that he will never rise up the levels. He knows the Truths will keep him where he is.
Everything changes when a desperate plan for food goes awry and Sharn is forced to fight for his life. The head of the Spire Guard witnesses the fight and takes Sharn to the Insula—an exclusive school where young boys are trained to fight for sport. Within the Insula's confines, Sharn learns to fight, tries to learn balance, and discovers that the priests' Four Truths are mere fragments of a grander narrative. There are three further truths that have been hidden from everyone, and a remnant of people who believe that God doesn’t just want people to stay in their place.
As he navigates conflicting loyalties and battles his own doubts, Sharn must decide where he truly belongs and whether he dares to embrace the profound revelations of the Further Truths.
Working on a blurb for an upcoming book. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks for your time and support.
Blurb:
Reality teeters on a razor’s edge—to one side hope and the other darkness, where there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Nathaniel dreams of wielding power beyond imagining, while Immanuel grows up knowing he is to be great. However, the trouble with dreams and expectations is that they might just come true. Greatness is forged in blood, fire, and tribulation.
Hecate, member of the Cultrum in Tenebris, pledges to protect them from the horrors that lurk on the edge of reason. But, will she be enough?
Meanwhile, lurking between the fabric that makes up the multiverse, sinister entities conspire to unleash eternal darkness. Waiting right behind the curtain of our reality, they hunger.
In the past, I've recieved criticism that my blurbs focus too much on tropes and characters and not enough on the relationship. I hope this is an improvement.
The assignment is simple: Taste some cakes, tour some venues, and kiss up to a rival reporter turned fake fiance. No need for true love, right?
Drew Langston and Ivan Krastev’s investigation into a corrupt wedding planner is sure to make headlines. To keep their cover intact, they need to be convincing. Drew’s last relationship ended when his transition began. Ivan’s always preferred flings. What they lack in experience, they make up for in stubbornness.
The handholding and sweet nothings create plausible deniability. The shy smiles and inside jokes sell the story. Each encounter becomes a competition to be the best fake fiance.
When they return to the newsroom with all the evidence they need, they can’t seem to let go of the ruse. Maybe it’s not just “new tux euphoria” or too much caviar. Sometimes, the most obvious news is the hardest to accept.
Faking the Fiance is a “rivals to fake lovers to real lovers” romance featuring a transmasc hero. The low-angst plot has an HEA that deserves to be above the fold.
Hello! So I wanted to start by saying this is my debut novel that I am finishing editing up on. I am still working on finalizing the title but right now it is:
Kasey Mako: Missing Among the Stars
I'm worried I give too much away while also worried I'm burying the lead. The plot has two main events occur per part, and there are five parts, so about ten major big events and I don't want to give them away but at the same time I want to make sure I can hook readers. Here is the blurb:
Where did they go?
Twenty five years ago, a message from deep space fractured Humanity. The message? A singular word: “hello.” Half of Humanity wanted to explore it. Half wanted to hide. The hopeful half won, and a mega ship, called the Traveler, followed the source. It never returned and left a bloody civil war for all of humanity.
Today, Kasey Mako, member of the Peacekeeping Task Force and son of one of the Travelers, investigates mysterious phenomena plaguing the galaxy. First, a virus, then, a missing colony, and those are just the tip of the iceberg for the Galactic Union. Already on shaky ground, the Union is desperate for answers, and for the three species leading it, there’s much to lose.
As Kasey’s team of aliens and humans delve into the mystery, they discover these events aren’t random; they’re connected. And there’s a much deeper plot that doesn’t threaten just the Union, but the entire galaxy.
Kasey Mako: Missing Among the Stars is a light-science fiction novel, perfect for a first time science fiction reader and draws inspiration from The Mass Effect Series, the Old Man’s War series, the Wayfarers series, and The Final Architecture series. If you enjoyed those, you’ll love Missing Among the Stars and Among the Stars series. Buy your copy today and delve deeper into the Among the Stars Universe!

Hi! A few days ago I posted a thread about the cover of my first book, and you've been so helpful that I'd like to ask you for another favor: Could you tell me what you think of the book blurb? Would it work for a Young Adult Epic Fantasy book?
The Reflected are breaking through reality and only the Flesh Machines stand between them and a massacre on an apocalyptic scale.
When a monstrous beast emerges from the glass of a classmate's glasses to attack her, Alia discovers that it has the ability to turn her flesh into any kind of lethal weapon. The strange power will awaken the interest of the Flesh Machines, an army hidden in the shadows that has been fighting for centuries against the Reflected, the beings that live behind our mirrors, crystals and reflections and that, commanded by the cruel Primath, intend to conquer our world and destroy everything she loves.
A lot of flesh, friendship, lies and wild fights, will Alia be the key to decide who will win in this endless conflict?
Thank you very much, really!
First, yes I have contacted support department. They have tried to help, but so far no luck in resolving this. They wanted me to upload my file but all the platform won't accept it, including Drive.
Anyway. I have a 18kb .blurb ext file for a project I'm working on creating a book with their BookWright site. I work on it off and in, when inspiration strikes.
Ready to work on it again and it won't load up, or as i said upload to any other app to send along to tech support at BLURB.
can anyone help with solutions?
For anyone creating a travel book. How have you designed your map of your trip ? Has anyone found a good program to plot out the route? Google maps only lets you build up to ten waypoints .
Thoughts?
Outside The City Limits There are Many Horrors
It’s Seattle. It’s the ’90s. It’s cold, and it’s raining.
Join window washer Roy Weston and his cinematic cowboy pal, Pistol Pete, as they leave the mean, wet streets of Seattle and hitchhike for sunny California. Lugging Pete’s worn saddle between them, they head south for sun, sand, the Roy Rogers Museum, and a bit of inter-dimensional time travel.
Not to mention getting as far away as they can from Rick, Roy’s murderous rat-faced brother.
Along the way, they encounter a dangerous music store, a twisted State Trooper, an even more twisted trucker, a bookseller of unknowable age, a high-minded mustang, a bad case of log-pinching, the Code of the West, the Sons of the Pioneers...and a gal named Opal.
Funnier than The Brothers Karamazov; more chilling than What Ho, Jeeves!; shorter than War and Peace; more sexually explicit than Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy—and there’s lasagna!
A seminary graduate, pastor’s kid, and best-selling author, Jamin Coller spent his first 40 years as a Bible scholar, theologian, worship pastor, national children’s speaker, and Christian Educator. Now he’s being honest about all the things that pastors aren’t supposed to admit - all the ideas and doubts that the spiritual authorities consciously ignore, oversimplify, and lie about (for your own good, of course).
Some questions in Christianity don’t have answers. But far more questions do have answers, and the Christian leaders have just worked to keep you from them. In this book, Jamin reveals the answers you never got, and explores the questions you never thought to have.
What the beta readers say:
“Thank you for validating my concerns. Now I know I’m not crazy.”
“This book is the red pill in the Christian Matrix.”
“Please take Jamin’s warnings seriously. These ideas will change your life.”
I keep getting a message that says Render failed on BookWright as I try to upload it. pic attached
Power is never free. (<--tagline)
Isabelle is stuck in rut. She thought studying robotics at a nationally renowned STEM academy would open a world of enrichment, but she finds herself barely keeping her head above water, mired in the ordinary, everyday grind.
When an encounter with an obnoxious bully upsets her routine and forces her from her usual path, Isabelle, along with her two best friends, stumble across a mysterious object that grants them otherworldly powers. Faced with the burden of power they don’t understand and can barely control, they do the only thing that makes sense: they become amateur superheroes, of course!
As Isabelle and her friends struggle to keep their metamorphoses secret, they’re sought out by an eccentric astrophysicist-turned scientific pariah who warns them that their newfound abilities just might come at a genocidal cost.
Stalked by a pair of shadowy extraterrestrial hunters who seem to be seeking the power they possess, watched by a local detective who’s close on their heels, and threatened by the unhinged head of a bioengineering firm who’s trying to muscle in, Isabelle and her friends are beginning to learn that there’s more to being heroes than having power.
