G'day all, just figured I'd go full attention whore and introduce myself to this subreddit.
I'm John Eaton, and I work at KFC Blenheim for a quasi-living (live with my folks still at 22, but that's all right, I'm sure most people here do the same) Mon-Fri.
Lived here all my life and whilst I love it here, there are some things that I would really like to see improved but I won't discuss that here. I'm sure there are other subreddits for that!
Anyone know of any abandoned places in Blenheim?
Hi ! My family and I are trying to figure out if we can afford moving to Blenheim. We are 2 young adults with 2 young children. Rent prices are fairly easy to find online, but I cannot quite figure out daily expenses (mostly groceries) and utilities cost. What would you consider a reasonable weekly or monthly budget for these ? Thank you !
Just got to Blenheim this evening with the intention of wine tasting and seeing the aviation museum. We're staying in town and getting dinner and have noticed groups of guys at different ATMs. Sometimes it's 1 or 2 and sometimes it's a group but eventually it's always a few of the same guys we've seen at a previous ATM.
My initial thought was maybe it had something to do with getting paid for seasonal/vineyard work but that doesn't make sense - does anyone know what they're up to?
I am trying ton contact my father who I haven't spoken to in 6 years. Last I knew, he was living in Blenheim doing seasonal work at orchards and vineyards, bouncing around from place to place. His name is Sean O'Farrell and he'd be about 50ish. Here is the last photo I have of him:

If anyone happens to know him or someone who knows him, that'd be amazing.
What us there ti do here exept wine stuff
Hey community, I’ll be around Blenheim for a couple days 3-7th Jan. Just wondering if there’s any tips for climbing spots around the area? Either bouldering or rope.
Thank you!
Visiting Blenheim next month Just looking for recommendations of things to do ? Places to eat ? Cafes to get coffee from ? Places to stay ?
Hey everyone,
I am from Canada, just arrived in New Zealand on Oct 23 as my father has been diagnosed with ALS.
My father currently lives in Ward, and has been commuting about an hour several times a week.
I am hoping to find a furnished place to rent in Blenheim to hopefully eliminate the commute completely if possible ideally close to the hospital.
Looking for any sort of advice, tips, or leads people can provide
Looking at realestate.co.nz there doesn't seem to even be much inventory, and things are insanely priced when compared to things from my perspective from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!
Doable? Am I dreaming? Would be middle of summer. First bot out of Picton seems to be at 8am, which makes it 10am start, 8hr rides without any stops. Sounds challenging?
I'm 19 looking for people to meet. I moved to Renwick in beginning of April and idk how else to look for friends in my area. It's difficult bc I don't go to school anymore and all. Pm me if you're around my age and looking for a new friend. I am conservative, if that helps lol
Hello
I’ll be visiting the Marlborough region in the summer. I was curious if I can expect to rely on Uber for most local transit (say between my hotel in Blenheim and wineries in the region) ?
If not Uber can I rely on taxis or public transit ?
Thanks 🙏
These livestreamers have came to our city to create drama and nonsense. They have disrespected farmers and the people of Blenheim. Please stay away and report them if you see them doing anything suspicious.
2 tall men, one with a large nose and a purple hoodie, the other looks like a pineapple, have left a used tent in a playground in Blenheim. They are driving a gray Porche Cayman. If you see them, please call the police!
Looking for a drone + pilot to get some photos of a building in town. Happy to pay!
What is the best fish and chips here in Blenheim?
Was walking around the Blenheim CBD area and back and forth from the SPCA op shop today. Sat down at an ice cream cafe and realized only his hat was still attached. If anyone finds him please give him a good home 😭😭
As the title says. Struggling to find a good burger in Blenheim. Preferably beef, but chickens OK too.
We are selling our Van because all the ferries got canceled and we have to be back in Auckland by the end of the week to catch the flight back home to Germany. The Van is in great condition and you could easily resell it for more money if you have the time for it. Here is the Trade.me link: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/nissan/listing/4047067100
Just shoot me a message. We would probably go even lower on the price because we are desperate and don’t really want to sell it to a resell agency.
Has anyone else seen strange lights in the sky around Blenheim? A mate and I were heading towards Riverlands and we both saw a blue light with a red beam appear above the road then disappear. It wasn’t Police, reflections or any other lights from a powered light source as we both saw it appear above the road then vanish
[Apologies if this is not the right place for this!] We’re spending a day in Marlborough on a self-guided e-bike tour of 3-4 wineries later this week and are absolutely overwhelmed with where wineries to visit. Would greatly appreciate some help!
Our 3 priorities are 1) quality of wine, obviously 2) tasting experience- ideally a beautiful view or lovely atmosphere and 3) avoiding some of the bigger producers and opt for more family owned (we’re from the states and aren’t familiar with who the “big guys” are here).
Current (potentially misguided) list below:
Also for lunch, we’re thinking Wither Hills or Wairau River as one of the 3-4 stops.
Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated!
