A place to show and tell about blacksmith tools for sale. Did you see a good deal on an anvil or other tool, but can't buy it yourself? Tell us about it here. Maybe another redditor will buy it.

Question!!!

Hey guys new to blacksmithing. ( wife got me a forge and anvil for Christmas (: ) I'm making these little hooks out of 3/8 round bar. My question is. Is there a significant difference between using hot rolled steel vs cold rolled steel? At my local steel mill it's like a 10 cents per foot price difference.

looking for some starter tools in Virginia

Hello all! Working on setting up a small smithy so I can learn this art. My grandpa was a farrier and unfortunately his tools and wisdom are lost to time. Currently I have nothing, however I am designing a small forge and planning a floor plan.

My wife is a godsend as she is helping with the building and totally encouraging my pursuit.

Well rambled enough...

Thanks for reading, C .

looking for cheap starter anvil or aso in houston texas

Trying to get my blacksmith career off the ground, I have no tools or forge or anything yet, but I'm searching for cheap tools to get me started. An ASO is proving difficult to find, but if anyone in the Houston area has one or any other useful tools you are trying to get rid of, lmk

I'm lookin for a set of letter stamps that can be used on hot or cold steel, all that I've found so far are rated for soft jewelry metals and not for harder metals

I picked this up at an estate sale for next to nothing. Don’t really know too much about it but figured I can use it to evenly set forge welds on some Damascus stack billets. Any thoughts?

Leather Carpenter Apron - General Lasting And Durable

https://preview.redd.it/popin0j7l8a81.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f47cef077a3885d4619163ce60e8da1026df6b2d

To increase the comfortable feeling, you should pick a Leather Carpenter Apron that will be adjustable around your neck and waist area. If possible, you should check the belt; if not, you have to adjust it.

Looking For a Hammer!

Hello, I am looking for a square rounding hammer and was wondering where I could find one for a good price, I understand they are expensive for a reason but I cant really go much over £100, as I 'm only doing it as a hobby right now.

Downsizing

First off, I live in Denver... So this is for the local folk.

I'm downsizing my living arrangements, so I'm cleaning out my garage. Rather than recycling all of my metal stuff, I'd rather it go to someone who can use it.

I've got a few hammers, and tools. I've also got a bunch of random metals, including a couple of forklift tines, and a piece of cylindrical metal that I've also used as an anvil.

As for bigger tools, I've got a chop saw, and a band saw that need homes...oh, and a post vice

Hit me up privately, and we can set up a time for you to come rummage for what you want.

Certainly enough stuff to set up a serviceable shop.

Edit: there's a good workbench too
