The charity reckon he's 14 months, castrated at 10 months unfortunately. He's a lovely sweet boy with zero manners!

Hey folks, was really happy to see there's a group for the breed 💜

This is Charlie! (Also responds to Dingus) He's my 3 (about to be 4) year old Black Mouth Cur! We met in Tucson AZ when my ex and I decided we were ready to adopt a dog and after meeting several dogs with aggression issues I asked the lady hey, do you have someone who's just a sweetheart? That's when they introduced us to a shy dog they found in a school yard estimated to be a year old and it was like he picked us that day. It was believed he was dumped as he had no collar but seemed very healthy and well taken care of. Sadly dog dumping us a huge issue in Tucson so this was likely what happened but hey, just means he met his forever mom in me. 

Charlie and I have been all over the USA since now it's just the two of us in life and currently live in Massachusetts. I'm so excited for my desert born pupper to see snow for the first time! 

He's honestly been the sweetest dog I've ever had and has been like a girl's best friend. He always seems to make friends with everyone he meets, and even befriended two local police officers recently when they mistook my address for one that made a call 🤣 He's definitely one of the more derpy dogs , and I often joke he has the IQ of a potato, but I wouldn't change him. He's my baby boy 💜

Happy Monday!

Hi! Wondering if I have a BMC? We were given Honey at 6 months old (she is just turning 2 now) from a couple that had her in a small apartment in the city. Since we live rurally and on the edge of a national forest where we have a side hustle as commercial foragers, we were a perfect fit. They had rescued her from the woman's grandfather's ranch in Montana after he died. There was a litter that was basically just left behind and neglected. She was told that Honey was a hunting dog and assumed that she was a Ridgeback mix but Honey has no ridge. 
She has a tendency to curl her tail up but also keeps it straight. She has the most beautiful sweet eyes with thick eyeliner all around. She is a fawn color with some white marking on her chest and 2 toes lol. She has little moles on her face with hair coming out of them.
Some of her personality traits are: She has the absolute highest prey drive that I have ever seen!!! She will give chase to any critter! She once killed 2 chickens abandoned miles out in the middle of the forest! She can find any bone, carcass, or animal part anywhere! She also makes a really strange sounding loud high pitched staccato sound when highly stressed. She is very very sweet, wary of strangers, VERY stubborn, VERY sensitive. She is also extremely protective of us, her doggy/housemate/buddy/best friend, and any and all children around us. When out in the woods, she starts running top speed around us and in between us. We believe she is keeping a safe perimeter around us, checking on us, as well as hunting. She weighs 60-65lbs but still seems to be growing and filling out.  She has to be around us at all times, suffers from separation anxiety, is ridiculously stubborn, and very very sensitive.
Ultimately we don't care what her breed is, we just love her very much. We have read that DNA testing is not very helpful in identifying her breed, so beyond asking other BMC owners, breeders, experts, is there any other way of identifying her breed? Thank you guys!

Could my Finney pass as a BMC? 

Want to DNA test our adopted puppy. I really suspect he is a BMC because of his looks and personality. Our second guess was rhodesian/boxer mix. 

I read that BMC doesn't show up on the DNA tests because the AKC doesn't consider them to be a breed. Anyone know if this is true? Is there a test that BMC shows up on? If not, is there a way to know what results equals BMC? 
Regardless of what breed he is, he's adorable and we just love him. However, it would a lot of fun to know what he is.

94 lb rescue from southern usa unknown breed (we think Great Dane pit mix but could possibly be a bmc mix) and was neutered rather young (4ish months) so he could potentially have been bigger. 


He’s a playful, affectionate/a needy Velcro baby but is wary of strangers. High prey drive but is ok with our cats inc a newer kitten. Prone to destructive behaviors if not given enough mental stimulation, exercise, and things to chew. Afraid of his own shadow/slightly anxious but very protective of the house and us. Smart but stubborn. Does ok (but not the best despite tons of socialization) with random dogs if introduced properly.

This goes on for hours every day.  The sounds are the bmc-Nova.   The poodles head would easily fit in Novas mouth but she absolutely loves and protects him.
