I looked in the manual, but all I can see is the option to have the waveform full screen with a small window that has the video feed in it. I'd like to have the video full screen with a small waveform in the corner
I've been working with Resolve for the past year and would say I am intermediate at best. I'll make this simple,
The program is deep. Rather than spend hours watching tutorials I think it would be more efficient if I paid a knowledgeable person to either correct the video OR instruct me the correct way to do what it is I need to do over the phone and on the computer using team viewer.
Right now, I am restoring S VHS video which is SD. I am planning to use this video for hundreds of youtube and tik tok shorts. The footage is great and is of "man on the street interviews" from 90's NYC. The problem I am having with these tutorials is everyone has their own way of accomplishing the goal of generating video that looks good. It's confusing with the de-noising, color correcting, color grading and up- scaling. Everyone's node tree looks different.
I want to take the 720p SD video to HD 1080P.
I'm willing to pay a flat rate or hourly. $200 to do the corrections (which would take 3 hours tops) or $50 for each consultation/tutorial. Restoring a few clips should only take a couple of hours.
Also, resolve doesn't have REC 601 (which would be better for the camera I used) I was told I could use REC 709
but is that really true?
Perhaps you could just correct a few clips, and I could copy the correction effects into all the other clips. Although lighting conditions change, they are all shot with the same camera. A Panasonic AG 450 S-VHS camera and converted into SD digital video with a Canopus AV 110 video converter.
Correct/restore a few clips or show ME how to do it, Let's discuss!
These are the specs of the footage that needs to be corrected
Resolution: 720 x 480 pixels (NTSC) or 720 x 576 pixels (PAL)
Frame Rate: 29.97 fps (NTSC) or 25 fps (PAL)
Bitrate: Approximately 25 Mbps
Audio: 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo
Sample of original AVI video converted to MP4

Hi crew, I recently got from a retired editor this piece of hardware, he didn't knew (or care) where the license its.
It's any way to retrieve the license that came with the hardware?
I read the keyboard serial should be the license but is longer than an usual Davinci Resolve serial (got my own copy).
Any help is welcome, thank you
ps: - If anyone modified the keyboard adding backlight , any information its welcome too.
- who use CommandPost for daily task with this keyboard, some guidance much appreciated.
I've noticed that on the tech specs for some of the DeckLink cards (DeckLink 8K Pro G2, DeckLink 8K Pro Mini, DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G), there's terminology that indicates that the SDI video input is 2D/3D switchable. I'm wondering what that means.
As I understand it in the stereoscopic world, you could have one SDI input/output contain both the left and right and eye views for a video file (so, if we were to assume a perfect stereoscopic match, we could say that a 4Kp60 input/output could contain both the left and right eye views, so 1080p60 per eye). But is it possible to use two of the SDI inputs/outputs for this purpose? For example, could I set it up so that the left eye view is a 4Kp60 input/output on one of the 12-G SDI connections on the DeckLink card, and the right eye view is another 4Kp60 input/output on another of the 12-G SDI connections, and Media Express could then capture/output each eye's view separately?
I'm not entirely clear what 2D/3D switchable means. Thanks!

My system specs
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700 2.10 GHz
64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
Windows 11 Home
RTX 3060 video card
RESOLVE VERSION 19.0.1 build 6
I do have some experience editing using Vegas and Avid as well but I don't know much about color management.
You don't have to be a top level pro, just someone who knows more than I do and can help upgrade this footage to a reasonable degree, at an affordable rate. My budget is quite limited.
I tried Fiver etc. but it seems too impersonal to me.
I could pay with paypal
Hope to hear from you.

I have the latest version of Resolve and 64 gigs of ram and a new computer (windows 11) that should be able to handle the job easily.
Included is a sample of the video I want to restore.

Please help me figure out how to actually record video onto a 1 TB external drive.
For contacts, our district bought this for our middle school media class, which I teach. This is hooked up to three different cameras, as well as a pretty nice soundboard, and a monitor and a new desktop computer.
I know how to operate the cameras, and the soundboard, and set up the preview screen and the transitions on the display. But I cannot for the life of me figure out what I need to press to have the video and sound actually record to either the internal or external storage.
Because this is such a new system for us, nobody seems to know how this works, and I can't find a user's manual or reasonable video anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hey everyone, I did use Reddit’s search feature on this sub, but didn’t find any answers. Currently using a deck link 8k pro and newtek connect doesn’t recognize the card. I’ve confirmed that the card does work bringing in feeds to Wirecast and OBS. I am looking for a program to send 4 independent feeds via NDI from a windows machine. Anyone have experience troubleshooting newtek or do you have a program that you would recommend?
Good Monday morning everyone
When I add a dynamic zoom to a clip, how do I copy the final position of that zoom into the next clip? I have been lining it up by eye, is there a way for me to find the exact zoom, X and Y position?
I hope the question makes sense!

below is a sample of the video I need to restore. The master footage is one generation better than this.
You can see the colors are very off.

1080p signal is from a Kramer scaler switcher, which does not have any (visible at least) noise. When BMD transcodes to SDI there is visible noise on the image. I read online that other users have this issue when converting 1080p.
Is there anything to be done about this, a workaround?
I connected the BMD device to my computer and it said updated needed, slowly updated and then said update failed, but then device reports that the firmware is current. I also read that this sketchy updating is common for these devices.
Wish I'd read up on them before buying one really! Any tips or advice very welcome,
thanks,
ps I make video art, please have a look https://www.youtube.com/@robinsutcliffe-video_art
Just as the title says. I have a folder with a bunch of MKV files, and some can be imported, and others are not showing up in the Media storage. But they're all MKV... I don't understand
I cannot run Komplete Kontrol 7 on Resolve! Stand alone it works fine, but if I try and launch it as an Instrument, or Onto a Track, it crashes every time. Thoughts?
(Running Studio 19, but it did it on Studio 18 also)
I want to record a video podcast and I will create one ISO video per person. They will be in sync, coming from an ATEM mini extreme ISO. Can I somehow cut them in Resolve so that it switches to the person who is talking, automatically?
I rendered a video yesterday and it took 4.5 hours. Made a couple of tiny tweaks to the length of one shot clip and tried to render again and it is saying 13 hours today? I have tried a few things to fix this but nothing is working. Why has the render time tripled?
I put together a video for a client and the timeline was looking ok, playing back fine. Once rendered, the sound gets very slowed down to the point it sounds satanic, which is funny because the video is very spiritual in nature. Idk what causes this as this has never happened to me before.
I plan to record the output of the interface playing back the timeline and put it together somewhere else (the video's fine) once the power comes back, but I'd be down for a less of a caveman approach.
Hey everyone.
I have a strange issue happening on a mac studio m2 ultra 2023 (Sonoma 14.6).
When I install Resolve lite, I can use the mini panel usb-attached. However when I install studio instead, the panel is no longer detected in Resolve. This happens with Resolve v18.6.6 Lite and studio and v19.0.3 lite and studio.
I changed cables to no avail. Weird thing is that the mini panel is ALWAYS seen in the panel control interface, but when studio is boot up, I cannot control the panel.
When I put this mini panel on a mac studio m2 Max (sonoma 14.6), the panel works with studio.
Will gladly take ideas on how to solve this. :)
Thank you.
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased the Pyxis and I have been waiting for a cage solution for this camera.
I've seen the ones from Kondor blue or Mid49, but nothing from Tilta or small rig. (Besides one video from a convention).
Does anyone know why it is taking so much time ?
shooting a low-key night setup. 800 ISO (the native setting) looks fine, but there’s a risk of underexposure. 1600 improves it - just wondering how much more I’m losing here on paper.
I’m used to the dual native iso on bm 6k pro.
thanks.
I am running three different iPhone 12 mini's. Each of them are 64 GB. They are all the exact same backup file on each phone. The only thing that I've changed is the name of each phone.
Basically what I'm saying is each of these phones is identical, except for the name.
However, on one of the phones, it says that I have 49 gigs to record and on the other two it says that I have 22 gigs to record to.
But they all have around 50 gigs free.
But the black magic camera app is only showing 22 gigs free on two of them.
Any suggestions?
They are on iOS 18, but not the most current version.
Hey everyone, I recently picked up a Pyxis and have noticed a strange glitch happening. When I go into the media viewer there is an audible click coming from inside the body, and when I exit there is a pixel glitch and that same click as you can see in the video. I'm on the most recent firmware and everything else works fine, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if I should be worried
Hey there! I purchased the PYXIS 6K L mount, the Blackmagic Design Video Assist 3G-SDI/HDMI 5" Recorder/Monitor, and the bnc to micro bnc cable. Can’t get it to work. Any suggestions?
Hey there. I went down a bit of a rabbit hole with my BMCC 6k full frame and some vintage lenses. I have a collection of vintage film photo lenses including range-finder "M" mount and wanted to check the coverage. So I did a very rudimentary comparison video. This is not scientific in any way and just intended to give folks some idea of how the various vintage works with the FF sensor. I shot a very quick lens comparison including the Zeiss Sonnar T* 50mm 1.5 ZM along with some of my other vintage film lenses. YT link is below. This was just very quick and non-scientific. Actually, this is the first footage I've shot on the BMCC 6k Full Frame.
I did this mainly because I couldn't find examples of the Zeiss ZM and the Mamiya 80mm 1.9 on the BMCCFF. Specifics of the lenses and LUTs are in the description. Hope it helps someone down the line.
Just in case anyone is interested.
Did anyone ever try to use the blackmagic pyxis new evf or monitor on the studio G2 . It will be amazing if they where compatible , please let me know if you ever try it. Thanks.
My question is, if this DeckLink 8K Pro Mini could be used, for 2 inputs and 2 outputs. I only used them as inputs, but a guy told me i could use them as outs aswell. Can i use them for both or do i need to buy 2 of them set the one to inpouts and the other to output?
I want to transfare the video input with alpha chanel from one Pc to an other.
Hello, has anybody solved this problem when Davinci Resolve crashes as soon as the project manager is visible? I'm a new user and this is a fresh installation; the installation went fine but whenever I launch the app is gets to this screen and is not interactable and CPU usage is 0%. I've tried reinstalling, deleting all the logs, removing all firewalls, all to no avail.
System specs are AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, Nvidia GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, Windows 11
