This subreddit is no longer private. We wish to support the ongoing protests over the API pricing.

There's no reason for us to actively engage in the kind of evil accidentally wielded by Veridian Dynamics here. There just needs to be better communication and time to make adjustments.

Ted is a boss at Veridian Dynamics, a company that creates everything from cowless beef to aerodynamically perfect structural bagels (totally not evil). He must balance the demands of his boss, Veronica, with the abilities and needs of the Research Department (Lam and Phil) while balancing his love interest in Testing (Linda).

Is there a place to watch episode 12 and 13 of Season 2?

I heard there were 2 unaired episodes that were released in Australia for the final season. I really want to watch them! Does anyone know where you can find it?

What's the best Phil and Lem episode?

Spouse and I are putting together our winter movie/TV festival. This year's theme is "Terrible Twos" - so mostly we're thinking of pairs of characters - partners, rivals, friends, lovers.

So wondered what the best Phil & Lem episode is. Thoughts?

My job is switching the scheduling / payroll system to a software called Ceridian.

Do I even need to say it? Every time I open it up, I remember this show and smile. No one at my work gets the reference.

Just wanted to share with y'all fellow geeks :)

Attention: Employees must NOW use offensive or insulting language in the workplace.

Taking this sub private has done rather little to change the minds of Reddit's admins, so we're going to change things up for a little while here.

The company has discovered that while John Oliver is not in our employee records, we have a plethora of fun material to keep things interesting. So let's have a little fun, the only way Veridian Dynamics allows!

While porn posts are still disallowed, feel free to use an insult generator. If it's good enough for Lem, it's good enough for us, you completely weak-willed slutbags!

/r/BetterOffTed has gone private.

I'd like to try to keep this open to people who were already here, so if you can see this post, it's because I saw your username in a post or comment and have approved you to view this private sub.

If you would like to help make a list of others to approve, let me know and we'll find some time to work it out. Wouldn't mind having another mod. Don't worry, I've been a lazy mod and we're still here!

/r/BetterOffTed and the upcoming API protests

Hi guys. I know I am very far from a great mod for this small community. I don't really want to lose content, and I want you to know that I really appreciate seeing an occasional new post or joke about this show that many of us here believe should have gotten much more attention and funding.

So with that in mind, I'd rather not delete everything that we have here. This is something I created, but you all have provided much more value by simply making content, while I mostly sat back and let whatever happen, without spending much energy to really build this up.

With that in mind, and because much of what people are upset about is that Reddit is making changes without giving adequate time to prepare, or properly engaging with its community, I would rather try to get some feedback from all of you as to what course of action we should take.

To add a little to our discussion, first a bit of history to consider. Digg founder Kevin Rose mentioned that one of its downfalls was trying to be like Facebook or Twitter. This resulted in people like me migrating en masse to Reddit. Part of what has made Reddit such a good place is at least having the appearance of a more democratic voting system than most other social media networks. Add to that the deep, valuable discussions, varied topics, and a variety of post types ranging from silly to stupid to actually substantive and intellectually stimulating. There's a truth in the phrase that there's a subreddit for everything.

Just to add a little bit of fun (because I could really use some right now), I'd also like to draw some attention to why I bothered founding this subreddit. In case you haven't seen it, /u/stabbyclaus posted a video AMA with our favorite scientists with Reddit about 12 years ago. You can watch parts 1, 2, and 3.

Edit: I have begun trying to add users to the approved list so that at least some of us can continue reliving the show a bit.

Unstable

Rob Lowe's new Netflix series Unstable gives me big time Better Off Ted vibes. While it's no Veridian Dynamics, I definitely picked up a lot of Veronica, Phil, and Lem.

Filming locations?

Was just rewatching some episodes of BOT and as always I noticed how nice the interior of Ted’s house is and was wondering if anyone knew where they filed it.

They show it a few times throughout the series, it shows up in S02E03 - Battle Of The Bulbs. I don’t think they ever show the exterior though.

Emily in Paris

Has anyone noticed that the Emily in Paris score sounds just like better off ted? That’s all I’ve been able to think about while watching the series. For example, this track

Edit- Also this track from season 3 https://music.apple.com/us/album/sofi/1658626035?i=1658627331

Linda

I’m halfway through season two and I can’t help but feel that Linda just doesn’t work as a character. She rarely gets a laugh and has mo chemistry with Ted despite being his romantic interest. Looking at Andrea Anders career it seems like she must give great auditions but can’t make it translate to the screen. Anyone agree? Disagree?
