I think today was good.
Stayed in my room and started working on a presentation. Then went for breakfast and going to class. Got ladle stuff, and went home early. No GDD meeting. I saw a bunch of costumes in MLK before going to class. A bunch of sugar and some shirts that I drew on. I wish I could do more at halloween.
Afterwards, I was full, but still ate dinner. Went to a performance(and saw some poeple I knew)(I probably went to the wrong event). The performance is about our time here, and who will be remembered and are we all actors of a stage of the leaders. I think the takeaway was that people should be able to not stay in the present. That concept doesn't really exist.
I was spoken French out, and did a jesus cross move, but nothing else happened to me.
Got math midterm and project and lab and I feel like death but the grind don’t stop any tips?
There are still five days until my phase 1
Can I even get into the waitlist QAQ
What are your phase 1 dates? is mine too late?
It’s definitely tempting to use AI, but I am too scared of the penalty and am just hoping to pass the class. I know course staff says they screen for academic dishonesty but I wonder if they can effectively determine whether you used AI to generate code.
Is it just me or does everything in Berkeley just feel so difficult? Like all my classes feels like I’m barely surviving even when I try to take “easier workloads”. All the clubs and activities are extremely heavy, and everyone is just so competitive and elite. Is it like this at every school, and will it always be like this? When will I adapt or have the pain end (I’m a senior right now and will graduate very soon)?
I heard the RSF added more machines earlier this year, but ive never been so idk if its better now? I canceled my YCMA membership today and I wanna start using the RSF. I get out of class at 2pm, and I reviewed the RSF analytics, but i've never been so idk what "50% density" looks like. My apartment unveiled a brand new "fitness room" today and its literally just a treadmill and dumbbells lol, so i'm trying to figure out wtf im gonna do now.
Hi UCB students, I’m currently in the application process and was wondering if it’s impossible to transfer from the math department to a computer science major. I tried googling but it was no help so this is my last resort. Greatly appreciated if you guys could help. I know I have a 0 percent chance to get in for CS so i was just wondering.
I'm a third-year computer science and data science double major (emphasis applied math). I'm trying to figure out which courses to take next semester Spring 2025. I want to take two of my major requirements (plus a breadth course). Right now, I am thinking to take Math 110 and CS 189 but I'm not sure if the workload is going to be too much since I've heard both can be a lot of work. I am also considering swapping one or both for Info 159, CS 160, or Math 113 (I am open to other suggestions tho!). Does anyone have any insight for which courses I should take?
Courses I've taken/are taking: CS 70 (A-), CS 61C, CS 170, Stat 134, Data 100 (A+), Math 56 (A+).
What are good resources to study and prepare for chem1a? Other than office hours? Please drop any places that offers free tutoring !!
I got a -1.88 on midterm 1, I know I did horrible. What’s the highest grade I can get in this class? Let’s say I want to get a b, what should I get on the final ? Should I just drop this class ? And retake next semester?
willing to sell an arm and leg for at least an a-. my test scores averaged are exactly one point below mean so i’m still right around the middle range. berkeleytime says top 52% get an a- or above, i just need a success story to keep me going
update: does anyone know a good tutor?
How difficult is this class and how much programming experience do you need
Hi, I'm a freshman currently trying to get my schedule for next semester prepped. I would like to take a Spanish class because I have been learning since 6th grade. I got a 4 on the AP test this past May, but I don't feel very strong in my ability to speak Spanish. I had a horrible teacher (like he basically didn't speak Spanish) freshman, sophomore, and senior year, but a pretty good one in junior year. Though I technically should be placed in Spanish 4, I am wondering if maybe I should drop a level to regain a sense of understanding? I honestly suck at Spanish. Would anyone caution against this? What was your experience in Spanish 3 or Spanish 4 like? Thanks!
Will I be ok taking ECON 157 with Ryan Edwards if I have no econ experience? I'm a stats major interested in taking it for my cluster course
Im a junior majoring in data science and i am debating if i should be taking data 140 or indeng 172.
I've heard that indeng is easier than data, but i was wondering if i would not be prepared for my MLDM requirement (i think i will be taking data c102).
Can anyone give me advice please?
Hey, I took my R1A requirement the spring semester of my freshman year. I need to get around to doing the second part of the requirement as enrollment is open for spring semester sophomore year, but I took COLWRIT R1A and I’m pretty interested in a different R1B class.
Am I allowed to mix and match the classes in the R1B requirement? Since I know the proper next step should be COLWRIT R4B.
If i got a B on the first exam, then a C on the second. Am I pretty much screwed for this course. I feel so defeated and broken down, I know this won’t look good for med schools. I’d appreciate if someone is real with me since I have no one to talk to about this
Talked to an advisor but have to talk to another was wondering if anyone knows more information about either p/np or late drop (in this case a lower math division requirement) because due to another thread taking a P means ineligibility of majors but was wondering what about a NP and if Id have to retake said class here at berkeley or could take it at a cc and transfer it and have it qualify for major requirements, does it vary by college? I really don’t want to use a late drop. Thanks
Is this doable? I've taken Stat134&135 and I've not taken EECS127.
I somehow didn't go to any office hours ever in my first year here and I've finally gone to my first ever office hours and wow it's so helpful.
You don't need to have a specific question, you can be completely lost, you can just want to talk to the professor because you feel like it. Go to office hours!
Hi I live in Clark Kerr dorm in Building 9. The delivery guy delivered my package in front of the building instead of the front office/mailing room. It was delivered to the back door (1st floor), next to the trash bins outside. If anyone has my package, please return it back to me or the front office. My room number should be on the package. The front office already knows that my package is missing.

yall see the very hungry caterpillar or gary the snail on a bike?
Freshman here. Would it be possible to get into Data 8 next semester during Phase 2? If not, I'll add it during phase 1 but it'd be nice to get a "better" breadth class during phase 1 if possible. Anyone have a similar situation in the past? Thanks
Found one AirPod pro between Mulford and Morgan on the grass DM me if it's yours! Or, any suggestions of how else to get this back to the person who dropped it?

Do check out the App!
I failed both midterms and had only one midterm and a final left. Will I still be able to pass the course? Does anyone have any tips? Im really unsure what to do.
Thoughts?
