Play a level, reach around, move my entire body. Install the basic mods from mod assist and I feel like I just need to flick my wrists, which kinda sucks because I'm trying to burn carbs and build stamina here. What gives?

I've had the game for awhile and I keep noticing this when I update the game because you need to delete all mods and then launch the game, so I decide to play a few levels. Everything feels wider without mods and the blocks feel bigger.

Preface. I have been practicing Spin Eternally for like 2 months. I cannot beat it. I'm stalling on it and going forward and back on progress. I've managed to beat it start to finsh once at 90% speed. The furthest I can get at 100% speed is that part. I'm happy to make it to that part at 100% speed but I just can't get by it. Funnily enough, I can do the part after that and make it to the finish line. Not easily, but I can do it. And I can see personal improvement in that section after that one big fast section. But the fast section is just eating me up.

I have passed all songs up to OST5 except for 1.78, Final Boss Chan, and Spin Eternally. If we count the Extra OST, then I haven't finished 100 bills in that album either. I want to believe I am decent at this game and I'm improving but this one song is just bringing me down.

With this said, here are my questions:

1a) JDFixer. Should I keep using it? If yes, is there a setting or range of settings that pros might use as a rule of thumb? And ftr, if you've beaten Spin Eternally even once, or Final Boss Chan, or any of those kinds of songs, OST or otherwise...then I consider you a pro. I aim to reach your level.

1b) If no JDFixer, and regular settings only: Static or Dynamic. Far or Close? Any thoughts on these whatsoever is great. I have tried these out. All of them. Static feels incredibly weird to me after so much time in Dynamic (around 500 hours). Only one I'm iffy on. But if 50 people come in here and tell me Static is the way to go, then I'll go Static (hyperbole on people count intended).

2a) Controller settings. I'm on Quest 2 Pro Controllers. Closest resemblance maybe are Quest 3 default controllers. Basically no Ring.

2b) EasyOffset? Yay or Nay. Currently for me, it's a Nay, but I'm down to try it again. The tutorial I see everywhere doesn't seem to get me in the right spot so I must be doing something incorrect, or it's outdated

2c) Without EasyOffset (for ~500 hrs of gameplay): I have my Controller Settings via the Vanilla menu mildly tilted so when I hold them, they align with the actual controller as if I was holding a sword with a tight grip around the hilt, all fingers. Please see screenshot below.

2d) Position Z forward by 3.5. This okay? Does it directly line up with my controller there? No. It's forward a bit in Z space, as intended. But some youtube video mentioned to do it. I did it at some point maybe 2 years ago and haven't ever gone back. Willing to change this if it's gonna create some bad habits.

3) I'm bouncing between default grip and "Maestro Wand^tm (MW)" grip. My lifehack to "claw grip" without having the ring to grab on to. I hold them straight out and play like the director of an orchestra. the Claw/MW grip seems to give me overall better gameplay results, but sometimes I just innately switch mid-song to default grip and some parts are much easier. I don't fully understand why. I did start with default grip for my first 300 or so hours. I switched to Claw/MW after watching a youtube video about the Claw grip (which I cant do because it'll cover the cameras on the controller). I had huge improvements...for a bit. Then I ended up where I'm at now, which is switching back and forth between default and Claw/MW grip.

Trying to improve, and surely I am in areas. Looking for more ways to do just that. Improve more. And break any bad habits. Thanks for any and all help

For me it's rum n bass on expert

So ever since the last update of the game something weird happens every once in a while, the game graphics will go semi transparent for a couple seconds and the pass through cameras will activate. This has so far always happened during gameplay, never in menus, and so far has been exclusive to Beat Saber. I’ve yet to have this issue happen in any other game. Headset is fully up to date as is the game

Okay, so I got back into BeatSaber recently because I wanted to exercise more.

I'd been doing really well on Normal, lots of Full Combos and SS grade songs. So I figured it was time to step it up a notch.

OMG. Lol. I finished my first song (did not choose a simpler one apparently) and the words "Sweet Cookie Christ, that was hard" left my mouth.

Never used that term before in my life, but this prompted it. Lmao.

Going to have to take it slow with the hard I think, lol

Step by step and all that.

I’ve been playing Beat Saber on Quest 2 for years now. I’ve modded it and downgraded and still play on version 1.17 through BMBF. I only use my quest to play Beat Saber and I only play using custom songs/maps.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of stick drift on these old controllers, and instead of buying new controllers, seems almost worth it to upgrade to the quest 3 finally as controllers themselves are damn expensive.

My question is this…can the quest 3 be modded as well? Will all of my 1000s of custom maps come over to the quest 3 with me or do I need to start over?

I searched the current BSManager link, downloaded the .exe, it instaled, opened and no credentials were needed? It even open the beat saber from my steam

I got a metaquest 3 last year. I've played some beatsaber. I'm probably older then most... 48. I enjoy custom songs, I did the whole modded thing/ sidequest. On my metaquest 3 I can search for custom songs with a bunch of filters. I'm only just starting to get into hard mode. Lol. I'm not upto speed yet for expert n so on... yet. Lol. When I search songs I can't really find too many songs that are somewhat current to today's top music. And if i do, its all expert+. I see mainly foreign songs, Japanese, Korean, etc.. Is there a better way to search for US music? Or do people just mainly make sessions for expert+? Any help or suggestions would be nice. Ty

I am thinking of streaming live on tik tok with beatsaber, but I have no idea to input the chat into the beatsaber map. On twitch you can easily see the chat in the beatsaber game itself. Is there anyone out there who knows how to input tik tok chat into beatsaber, so I can see it while I am on the quest and playing songs?

Don’t get me wrong, All of the artists did an amazing job, especially the originals, I just thought it was odd that there’s no Galantis, Juaz, Dabin, gryffin, zeds dead, whipped cream, excision, slander or illinium ect. Thought a few of them would have popped up by now for sure, slushii made it in by being in a video game pack so at least that’s tight.

Would love to see some maps using the songs played at the Afterlife EDM events, and events like it. Songs are amazing and the visuals are just wow. Anything played by DJ's like Tale Of Us, Camelphat, Adriatique, MRAK, Massano and more

My god what an annoying statement. The absolute first thing I did when I got the game was download BSmanager and essentially only played custom songs. It was good for a long time, until I actually bought one song that wasn’t available on custom songs and, wow. The mapping was 5x better, had arcs, chains and it was up to date even though the pack was kinda old, and if I couldn’t beat expert+ I could simply go down to expert. The experience was miles better than 98% of custom songs, which, don’t get me wrong, there are some amazing songs on there. But nearly 85% of it is just horribly mapped by people who don’t even understand rhythm, or painfully slow and they just threw in insanely annoying patterns to compensate, and a lot of them are genuinely impossible(maybe skill issue.) Not to mention nearly every song is an anime ost or some sort of meme song. My friend asked if he should buy a linkin park pack and he got multiple comments saying no just use customs song, but literally 4 of like the 10 songs were available and as I stated already, there’s a high chance they are just terrible anyways. Yes they are overpriced, but custom songs DO NOT compensate enough for those who actually want an enjoyable experience.

I come to the sub, and everyone seems to be talking about grips, swings, and glitches? I guess?

What's to hard about gripping the controller as if it was real saber, and swinging it as hard as if you were chopping a wooden block in half?

Did I misunderstood the saber part in Beat SABER?

A little while ago I posted a discussion on why the replay mod wasn't working on Quest 3S. I did happen to get it working, but I didn't know how, it just started working.

Since then, if had to shuffle around and delete some mods, which included the replay mod. This morning, I reinstalled it from modsbeforefriday, and for some reason it isn't recording any replays. I can access my old replays just fine, but no matter what I do, it won't record any new ones.

So I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem?

Not sure if this is even the correct server for a post like this, apologies if its not. I am currently trying to get sidequest to work, and I am having problems with turning on developer mode, I am 16, and do not yet have a drivers license to prove identification for the verification to access dev mode. If possible I would like to either find a solution, or even find a different way to mod beat saber that would still allow me to have a private lobby with my friend.
