Midas Man. Just finished watching it. I thought it was decent. Just wish the actor playing Eppy was not so much taller than the lads. Thoughts?
Mine is I wanna hold your hand.
What are your thoughts on The Beatles' use of AI in creating Now and Then? Does this blend of archival recordings and modern technology signal a new era for music, or does it risk losing the soul of what makes music timeless?
Exactly what it sounds like, is it pretentious or elitist to be 16 years old and a die hard Beatles fan, and if so is that bad? I mean they are objectively good music along with the likes of King Crimson, Yes, ELP and other prog giants. I guess I’m mostly asking because not a lot of people my age really like that kind of music and whenever I try to show someone Lennon and McCartney’s ingenious writing or Fripps guitar or Emerson’s keys they just call me a pretentious try hard and go back to listening 4 chord ditties. Any input is appreciated!
Not just including songwriting, perhaps general musicianship and vision as well. For me it's:
Paul - Revolver
John - Rubber Soul
George - Abbey Road
Ringo - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Bonus for George Martin - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Your answer could be about their music, personality, legacy, etc. but I'm interested what you would say is The Beatles most underrated quality.
I recently came in posession of a very unique copy of Let It Be, which seems to be a New Zealand one (it was labeled PCSM 7096 and the record itself was Parlophone even though Apple made the covers). What makes this weird is that there is no connection between previous owners (my late grandfather and afterwards my grandmother) and New Zealand. Of course it could be obtained used without me knowing it, but it still seems odd that a New Zealand copy even made it to Denmark back in the 70's. Do you guys know a reason why it even made it to Europe back then? Nowadays it's easy for an album to come far from home, but back then it just seems more unlikely... The question may sound dumb but i just want to know if there's a specific reason why.
Mike was one of my uncles friends and he found out in his autobiography that Paul’s uncle was Mike. Does anyone have information on him?
Help!
Thought it looked pretty nice. Does anyone know where to get one for a modest price? Thanks.
I've been into the anthology and demo versions of the catalog recently and I discovered something interesting I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed.
Strawberry Fields Forever is a song John wrote about an orphanage near his house growing up in Liverpool. Obviously Liverpool is located on the River Mersey and is a port city; tons of people there including his dad would have been sailors.
In the anthology 2 version Strawberry Fields Forever (take 1) there's a noise at the very end that sounds to me just like a foghorn from a ship which would have been a familiar noise to him in Liverpool. For whatever reason this noise didn't make it into the final version so it could just be a coincidence.
Do you think it was meant to sound like a foghorn and add an extra layer of meaning about his hometown, or it was just coincidence that it sounds similar?
Here's the version I am referring to https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y5g_DiZF5NI&pp=ygUlYmVhdGxlcyBhbnRob2xvZ3kgMiBzdHJhd2JlcnJ5IGZpZWxkcw%3D%3D
I got Meet the Beatles and The Beatles’ Second Album for myself for Christmas, and so far I think they actually slot really neatly into the UK catalog between Please Please Me and A Hard Days Night. That way you don’t lose any songs and gain a couple of the early singles and Long Tall Sally, with only a couple repeats
Happy New Year, everyone!
In February, to celebrate the anniversary of The Beatles coming to America, I'm planning a month-long marathon, chronologically viewing all of the media I have access to, including the Anthology, all the movies, all the music videos, and (I think) the documentaries.
I'm avoiding dramatizations of their earlier life, but I am including the fictional Robert Zemeckis film "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" just because I want to see it. It's a perfect fit into the earlier material.
Are there any films I'm missing that you would recommend?

Just listened to it for the first time on vinyl after getting my hands on it for very cheap and thought it was amazing, better than a lot of the Beatles albums.
I somehow never hear anyone talk about it, for a long time I thought All Things Must Pass was George’s only solo one.
So what do you guys think of it? Favourite songs off it?
Im 16 and I have no one in my life who gives a crap about the Beatles. For me the Beatles are everything. I got exited about them when I was 10 and my nana played with the Beatles on her record player while we made an apple crumble. From then on I wanted to listen to the Beatles every time I saw her we listened to everything up to revolver (she hated everything after revolver) and let it be. Every single song holds a different memory of my nana weather singing the long and winding road to me to send me to sleep or even her hearing me sing hey Jude at my schools talent show among other things. The Beatles were me and my nana. Soon she got ill and later she passed. I listened to the Beatles to remember her. She left me all the Beatles albums she had in her will for my 16th birthday. The time came around and my grandad had lost them moving in his new gf so I bought them all. I’ve got a girlfriend now and I’m happy again the Beatles mean something different to me now. I play gigs in pubs as a job and I always play the Beatles. But I’ll never forgot that it was my nana and I still remember her every time I play or listen to a Beatles song. I wanted to get that off my chest sorry guys
Hey guys.
I've recently started to learn more about the Beatles band itself, bc their music is top-tier, and I saw that John was assassinated. I know I'm very late to the game, but could someone explain the event, I saw on some article that he died in front of Yoko or smth.
Thank you!!!
Hi all, iv
Bought all these for a total of ~$150
