I found the cutest bat on the sidewalk of my school at 730 am this morning. I was on my way to class so I couldn’t really stick around but I picked him up (with gloves) and put him on a tree. I did a quick search for bat rescues in my area and found nothing! Just critter removal which I’m not calling!
I have no idea what to do. He was moving slowly but I didn’t see any obvious injuries. It was cold ~45 degrees so i don’t know if that’s why he was slow… help I don’t know their behavior and I’m worried about him.
What do I do?!
I couldn't tell if these were birds or bats either way holy 💩!! Can someone smarter than me determine which species this nightmare fuel is. Thanks oh and HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🦇🐦⬛🎃👻
Professionals only dm me asap.
Unfortunately found him dead. RIP.
What kind of bat is this? It’s tiny. Taos, NM. It seems to be caught in a web. How do I free it?
Can anyone help me with a baby pipistrelle bat? It was on the side of my shed all day and into the evening (when, if it was ok, it should have flown away?) I contacted bat protection who advised me to put it in a box and take it to a vet. However, I’m concerned that it needs specialist treatment and the vet will not have time to find someone as there doesn’t appear to be any volunteers in this area. Anyone?
Posted on behalf of my mother in Scotland. She can take to a vet tomorrow however she lives in a very isolated area and needs advice as to what to do before then. There are no emergency animal rescue people in the area.

This bat was found hanging on the living room wall at a friend's place this morning.
It was in usual bat sleeping position hanging from the wall.
I placed a box over him and gently got him into it, his wings immediately went to full extension.
He's slowly been waking up. He got actand chirpy and peed on my glove when I moved him into he ventilated box, then he calmed down again.
Current plan:
He's in a safe box with ventilation and seems to be resting. Going to contact a bat rehab person and see if she will take him for observation before releasing him back into the wild.
Update: shortly after dusk this evening I carefully got the bat out of the box and held him up to a tree until he finally decided to climb off my hand and scrambled up the tree to hide behind a piece of loose bark.
Later I checked and he was gone, presumably having flown away.
First, I love bat's and don't want to harm them. However, I have a very large and old barn that I have bats in and want to get rid of them for good. There is a mix of finished interior space and wide open upper level. I meticulously went around and sealed every small crevice and access point over the past several years, but they still find their way in (and out). Despite this, I'm sure there are access cracks I cannot find. They make a mess and I am unable to really use the space as I would like. I've talked to expert bat removal folks who tell me I'll never get rid of them and either live with them or tear the barn down. Neither are real options. Does anyone have any unique tips and techniques?
Found scattered in my patio. I’m in central Texas.
Hello bat enthusiasts my friend bought this and is super curious what type or whatever bat this is? Anyone got any expert bat knowledge? Thanks a lot I appreciate it sorry if this is a dumb question
I have reached out to a local rehabilitation center but apparently in Illinois there are absolutely no rehabilitation centers or worker that can legally handle bats :/ will have to call animal control tomorrow for him to be put down. I was hoping maybe theres someone here in a neighboring state that would have a rehabilitation center I could go to?? Any advice is welcomed ❤️
Wanted something to show people how small these bats really are on nocturnal walks.
He's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the result.
Southern Utah early October. He was in a safe place above the front door.
I’ve found some conflicting info online and am hoping for some guidance here.
I want to build a bat box to mount high on our house on either a north or south facing wall. I suspect the north facing wall won’t be warm enough because it never gets direct sun and that I need to use the south side instead. My concern is that the south side is cool in the mornings and then gets HOT in the afternoon sun, and I’m not sure how to manage that.
I’m in Colorado Springs at 6,400’ elevation, gardening zone 5b. Summer highs in the 80s and 90s. I’ve seen maps online that show my location should have black painted boxes, but I’ve also seen articles that say black boxes get too hot.
Am I overthinking this?
Found this little guy nestled up between my attic window and screen so of course Inset up my Ring cam. Anyway, pic from this afternoon but he must have stepped out for dinner cause he’s gone now. Question is, should I be concerned that there will be more nesting here?
There's a bat resting on a wall in the lobby of my floor in my apartment building. The lobby is fairly well lit and has plenty of loud noises/people walking by now and then but it seems to be completely unconcerned.
Is it unusual for a bat to be resting at 11pm? Aren't they nocturnal? Its been there for 4 hours now (that I know of).
Is this bat sick or is this considered to be within the range of normal behaviour? I live in India
