Frameless shower glass door

Because I have a toilet on the opposite side of the shower panel I wanted to have the glass door attached with the hinges on the shower panel wall. The glass company came to measure and told me that water is going to leak through the hinges if I put them on the same side as the shower head. I’ve been trying to do some research on this but there isn’t any info on this topic. Is this a concern? I’ve seen pictures of bathrooms with the same configuration.

Home value with no tub?

We need to replace our tub/shower unit. We have two other bathrooms-each has a shower. I’m wondering how to best replace the old unit. Is a home value lessened if there is no tub? Also…recommendations for tub/shower units if that’s the way to go…we are in our 70s so need to be easy clean …no handicaps at this point. Thank you.

Get rid of a tub in primary bath to build a bigger shower?

Current situation is our primary bathroom has smallish shower and a built in jacuzzi tub that does not work. We bought the house knowing it did not work. We want to tear it out and either replace it with a free standing soaking tub or do no tub and just expand the walk in shower.

The secondary bathroom on the same level has a tub shower combo so there will be a tub available on that level if we decide to do just a shower in the primary bath.

I’m looking for opinions on if it’s a good idea to not have a tub in the primary bath. Neither me nor my wife like to use a bath tub so we wouldn’t miss the tub.

Which tiles go with white metro tiles?

I have white gloss bevelled metro tiles around my bathtub which I’m not looking to replace for now, but I may use grout paint on the black grout to make it a lighter shade.

On the opposite side of the room are square white painted tiles in the shower cubicle which I’m wanting to demolish when I replace the shower kit and tray. I don’t really love the idea of doing all of that in white metro tiles, though I wouldn’t mind doing that with one wall a feature wall - I’m just not sure whether a feature wall works with metro tiles because I guess it would break up the uniformity of the metro tiles. Another idea is to just use a totally different tile. You’ll never be looking at both the bath and the shower at the same time so they don’t need to go fantastically together but at the same time I’d like them to complement each other and look like they kind of fit the same vibe. What sort of tiles could I use for the shower?

Is this limescale?

This gloopy green stuff keeps leaking from the hot tap. It’s been doing it for about 2 years but has gotten worse over time.

Apparently it might be limescale, but I just want to double check here because I’ve never seen green limescale before.

Thankyou :)

glazed brick for shower wall? advice needed!

hi! after looking at dozens of tile we finally selected this beautiful brick tile from cle. the site says it's suitable for shower walls but when i called to speak to a representative they said we may need to reseal the tiles every few years.

i'm trying to keep this as low maintenance as possible. i'm specifically looking for someone who has experience with glazed brick in the bathroom?

i know porcelain would be my best bet, maintenance wise, but we haven't found a tile that we are in *love* with, and i am hoping this brick will work! but i'd rather know its issues now than later!

thanks!

Cheap Delta acrylic tub flexing

So, I had a cheap acrylic tub installed and it indents when pushed on. Not sure if this is common. Also, not sure how I can keep water out of this is the case. Thoughts on my options here?

My bathroom is 10 ft x 10 ft x 7.5 ft height. Should I lay my 24 in x 48 in tile vertical or horizontal?

My bathroom walls will be covered on all 4 sides.

What are the options to solve this tiling problem?

We've just had our bathroom done with tiles on the floor and walls. When they first set them out, we asked if we could have a full tile from the floor and they said that they could make it work but the top row of tiles would be between 2-4cm which we were okay with. However, when they did the last wall, they realized the ceiling is bowed/uneven (where I'm pointing in the video) so on that one wall they weren't able to do the final row of thin tiles since the gap varies so much from a few mm to a few cm and it was too uneven. Builders suggested covering the gap with this thick white beading as shown in the video but I think it looks crap and cheap, particularly since it's not consistent on each wall.

Note that in the video you can't see just how thin the gap is since it's covered by the beading.

What are our options?

Help!!!

As I was showering, I dropped my soap. As I went to pick it up, i slipped and tilted sideways into the bathroom wall.

I then heard a loud crack behind my plastic shower wall.

Should I be concerned???

Basic yet trustworthy bathtub+surrounds?

We're looking to redo our 'kid' bathroom, which is currently resplendent with a yellow sink, yellow tiles, and yellow bathtub.

Home Depot and Lowe's seem to have a collection of basic garbage models of tubs+surrounds, and then ones that are exorbitantly expensive.

Does anyone have tried and true bathtub and surround suggestions that I could look into? (We want a surround over tile due to upkeep/kids destroying nice things)
