/r/bassdeals
A subreddit to share deals found on the internet for all things bass related, including instruments, amps, pedals, rackmount equipment, gig cases, and all sorts of stage gear.
Please keep all posts related to basses and gear aimed at bassists. Gear not aimed directly at bassists may be posted if it is aimed at the band, not an individual instrument. For example: deals on guitars: not OK. Deals on rack cases: OK.
Please try not to post too often from big box sellers (such as Guitar Center) unless it's a rare deal (such as Musician's Friend's stupid deal of the day.)
Submission filters are disabled, so if you see a post violating the rules you can DM /u/Werthquake and they'll be reviewed.

So I have been playing bass for 22 years. Have had a lot of ups and downs in terms of income and living. I play with a group of dudes that have been together for 15+ years. We are getting older and want to start recording our works more so than worry about getting on a bill or playing with a buddy band. We just have a ton of material to record in order to work on new stuff.
Currently I am looking to find recording equipment for a 5 piece band (bass, drums, 2x guitars, and synth). Have been seeking a decent bass amp for practice/recording/live play as well as drum mics and etc. I work a good paying job but still have a family to support. My recording bg isn't the best but I do understand signal flow and how to go about recording. Others in the band have a better grasp too.
If anyone knows of any good sites to find solid recording equipment for a not super poor band then please help me find it. The dudes in my band are like my brothers and I want us to be able to listen to our past selves and enjoy what we were capable of doing with our talents.
So this is what I'm looking at.
Basso Elettrico Washburn XB400 Bantam https://www.subito.it/strumenti-musicali/basso-elettrico-washburn-xb400-bantam-catania-299565333.htm
I tried it this afternoon and it sounds great (on a very good amp) and I seem to understand that it's in great condition.
The only owner bought it in 1999 for the equivalent of about 900 USD back then (but italian currency).
He's now selling it for 250 €. The bass has no scratches although I am not great at checking how straight the neck is :( . Also it has new strings after having rested with no strings for years so the neck probably is going to "adjust" to the tension now.
Please advise!
Price is $1700

Willing to entertain trades - specifically for a Stingray Special 5H - Maple fingerboard if possible.
Just picked this up recently in a trade. Need the money more however. Very awesome bass. The pics below are from the previous owners thread.
From previous owner: "These basses, being the Rockbass Artist Series (about 5 steps up from the entry level Rockbass) we’re $4k basses.
You may be asking, what is a B-stock bass? While I cannot speak for other companies, I know Warwick well. They don’t sell B-Stock basses that are damaged or unplayable. Their B-Stock is for one of two reasons: 1) because it wasn’t an A+ as it went through QC and those basses ONLY have finish issues. So, a scratch that can’t be buffed out, or a weird grain of wood in the neck, fretboard or headstock, a logo that’s slightly off center, an uneven finish coat, etc... Or 2) because the model was discontinued and unsold stock gets labeled B-Stock (serial removed and stamped), and is typically sold to their dealers (of which, I am not) or gets destroyed.
This one is a discontinued model B-Stock which was used as a demo on the showroom floor. That said, this bass is perfect. You can see in the pictures, this bass has been so moderately and gently used it looks basically new. It’s really beautiful. Frets are in great shape, no scratches of note, nothing.
Specs are as follows: Neck - Solid Ovangkol w/ Ekanga Fretboard - Tigerstripe Ebony Body - Alder Weight - 10lbs Spacing - 18.5mm to 19mm adjustable Pickups - Active Seymour Duncan Soapbars Electronics - Seymor Duncan Steve Bailey Active 2 band"
Do know if this is the best place to post this.
Do you all have any resources for finding resale value of used gear?
I'm trying to sell my Fender rumble 350 head and a Genz-benz STL-210T cab. I've found The fender rumble to be reselling for around 200. But can't really find any info on the cab. Both bought new, ~6 years old.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
Trying to take up the bass this year and I'm looking at buying a mid range bass. My budget will be probably $300-$400 range. My hope is I can find a used bass that someone bought new for about $500-$700 range. My current focus is Older Peavey (american is nice) Warwick, and schektor. I prefer an active pickup, but I am just going off all the newbie "research" I have been doing and asume its better.
I'd love some suggestions on other brands I might keep an eye out for. I would buy a fender, but it seems like there can be a wide separation from their starter basses to the next up mid range. I generally am the type of guy who likes to find the nonstandard brand that is under rated because people can be so brand loyal. Conversely, I see a lot of Ibanez around and although they are in my price range a lot I just see so many around I avoid them. I think this can help if i decide Bass isn't for me and I'm not fighting a thousand people all trying to sell their used bass. I guess i just don't like a brand that you see all the time.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
These are some pictures to clarify. http://imgur.com/gallery/pFeGZ

Hey everyone,
I unfortunately have to part with a large amount of my gear. Finances are tight and the fact that a lot of this gear is not getting the attention it deserves is making my heart bleed a little bit.
Buyer pays shipping if you are in Southern California though we can absolutely arrange a pick up.
