Collecting All Pre-Euro Currencies: Post 7

Post 6 here.

Moving forward, I'm going to have to split up the notes into groups, as fitting them all in one image became a challenge. I'd love recommendations on how to better format these in the post.

As I've been getting into higher-face value notes, a real challenge has been evaluating how much each note is worth. It's easy to find data on older US notes, as well as very common notes (Numista has been a wealth of information in that regard), but how much should an uncirculated Maltese 5 liri cost? Numista has some info on VF-graded notes, but nothing on uncirculated.

I've found two resources to help with that. One is Greysheet's The Banknote Book, which is unfortunately a bit costly since it's a subscription-based product. It also doesn't have 100% value coverage: for example, Greece doesn't have values input. However, I think they provide some very fascinating information about the bills themselves, and their imagery is also very high-quality.

The other is Real Banknotes. With a free account, you're able to browse their "catalogue value" data, which has thus far been very complete. The only drawbacks of this data are that it's unclear what catalogues it comes from, and it seems to only extend to 2019.

Stats after the pictures.

Fake £5 note?

Just going through my cash and noticed the ink flaking off this £5 note. Clearly a fake right?

Is this a legit variation and do graders still note it in the label?

Hello,

i was looking at some silver certificates i have and saw one that is similar to this past sale from heritage auctions for what is described as a 1935 f 1.00 with an inverted m on the serial number. It has an old pcgs currency holder which cant be verified anymore and is described as a w/m in the serial number and inverted m on the label.

Is this a legitimate inverted error that has value, or was this auction an exception where a speculating buyer overpaid?

here is the link to the auction sale from 2017.

https://currency.ha.com/itm/error-notes/miscellaneous-errors/inverted-m-serial-number-prefix-error-fr-1615-1-1935f-silver-certificate-pcgs-fine-15/a/141716-83145.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515

this was also described in this article:

https://www.uscoinsvalue.com/1935-dollar-bill-value/

And this article

http://www.uspapermoney.info/survey/invm.html

Attached is the bill I have:

If this error exists, is this the same error?
