I visited Whitefield and Sarjapur today as a Native

As someone born and brought up in Bangalore, it took me more than 20+ years to visit this part of Bangalore.

Holy fuck , it's bad. Everyday I used to see these posts on this sub and used to think maybe some people are over reacting. Especially with the auto scene.

I have barely had bad experiences with autos but omg it is bad in these IT areas. It took me 1 hour plus to get a cab or a auto. Rapido is pretty much non existent. Felt that people are very rude.

My college was in the outskirts, so I knew the attitude the people had over there. I saw it get better slowly. So I always assumed, things will get better as people settle down

But it just felt wierd. Didn't feel like my area at all. The air , the environment everything felt rude. I don't know . It didn't feel like my city .

And there was not one single park . Not one . There should be one in every road or intersection ..

One advice. Once yellow line starts. Try moving towards Central Bangalore. Even if it means travelling an hour in metro. City is not as bad as it is over there.

Surprisingly, Fake coughing and Fake furniture dragging happening among neighbors in Bangalore

So, I've been living in Bangalore for a few years now, and I have noticed this pattern where some people will try to disturb others on purpose! I had this one neighbor, who would imitate my sounds in kitchen, or drag furniture on every sound I make, and if I'm silent, there won't be any sound from them too. Trust me, not a single sound. Is dishwashing with sounds, even after having closed my windows and doors, a crime in Bangalore? I used to normally wash utensils while thinking about my life and my work, while they kept on imitating me to an extent, I became conscious about this, was anxious to do my work in my own kitchen, and I found this really disgusting and uncomfortable knowing that someone is sitting there just to imitate me. It felt like I'm being stalked! and if I'll make a sound in my kitchen, it'll be a sin. Then, I had this another neighbor auntie, who would start talking so loudly with her windows open (while mine are closed), as soon as she sees my lights in my room. To have some peaceful time in my own home, I had to just sit with lights off, at times! I purchased thick curtains, but some light, maybe through the top of the curtain space always goes out (have checked this from outside), and she would still figure out if lights are on or off in my room! Also, have seen some other people fake coughing with regular patterns especially, if someone is talking in their balcony.. I don't understand.. why are some people in bangalore (especially the native people) so childish and hurtful towards others.. if someone is talking in their balcony or dishwashing or doing some work, I don't mind!! It's very common in other parts of India, and in fact, it's very friendly too.. why are these people finding the day-to-day life sounds so much bothersome that they target others and want others as well to take this personally and have a fake coughing match! even if I were to find something bothersome, I would simply ask the person to lower down their voice, "with a smile".. Fake coughing, fake furniture dragging, etc. seems so childish, immature, hateful and disgusting way to shoo the other person away. Why so much hate?!!

Update:

For clarification, no, we do not use kitchen around 12 am. My flatmates and I, make sure, we wind up the kitchen work by 10 pm.

Some comments are showing hatred, asking me to be grateful or go back from where I've come. To those people, I would want to say that there are things I'm grateful for, but that's not the topic of discussion here. I've faced a few issues, and no one would be grateful on facing issues. Issues should be discussed and we can at least try to resolve them, so, please do not show hatred for discussing about issues.

A Reminder to Everyone

So this happened today morning, while I was sitting down to tie my shoes in gym, a middle aged man sitting beside me looked very tired and suddenly fainted. Firstly it looked like he felt light headed and then it got worsen and collapsed.

We were quick to assess his condition but were uncertain of what to do. There was a lot of chaos and people were suggesting multiple things.

Fortunately, a lady recognised the signs of dehydration (probably) and heat exhaustion and acted quickly. Later he regained the consciousness and all was well.

Just here to say that life is unpredictable and emergencies can arise when we least expect it. Knowing a life saving skills can make a critical difference. So please invest some time in learning these essential skills such as CPR, first aid, Heimlich Maneuver, emergency communication etc. Or be it ask if they had a glass of water.

PS: Thanks to the lady who stayed calm and handled the situation.

Offline marriage registration process in Bangalore

What is the process of registering marriage offline at a sub registrars office. Can this be done on the same day. I will be flying in from Canada and hoping to get this done within the span on 2-3 days. Do we need to book the appointment at the sub registrar office or just show up with witnesses. This is for marriage registration under Hindu marriage act. Do we need witnesses for this? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Do I also need a phone number that’s linked to my Aadhar in order to register my marriage in person? I don’t have a number linked and from the research I’ve done, it takes up to 30 days to update my phone number on aadhar and it can ONLY be done in person.

Mystery of broken benches in the Sadaramangala Lake Park, Hudi ward #BrandBengaluru

DCM D K Shivakumar talks about #BrandBengaluru, but it only gets worse

Sadaramangala lake park has a very poor maintenance , and in some sections of the park , fencing is broken. During the past 1.5 years , 3 sitting benches have been broken . On 10th November , Saturday . I found another bench is also broken ,so in total 4 benches are broken

  • The benches are stone made , so there's no chance a single Individual can break it
  • Some surrounding area miscreants with ill intentions are doing these activities , maybe a group when no one's around or in the night time , they could've used tools like sledge hammer
  • The park's security personnel don't even care to investigate the cause , they're living chilled life

I made an honest attempt on BBMP portal , to bring an attention , I posted a complaint on 11th November and the status was marked as resolved on 12th November . I be like what in the world is happening?

Also posted on twitter , but I don't know whether it'll reach the concerned authorities

UFO? spotted over Bangalore

I noticed a strange thing recently, and I thought I’d share it here.

On October 6th, 2024, I went on a solo bike ride to Baradi Betta, around the Nelamangala area. It was around 6 PM, and I was recording a video of my bike with the city’s sunset in the background. At the time, I didn’t notice anything unusual, but when I reviewed the footage later, I spotted something hard to explain.

In the video, there’s this bright, circular light moving from left to right across the sky at an insane speed, almost like supersonic. At first, I thought it could be lens glare, but it didn’t behave that way. The light was followed by multiple smaller orbs trailing behind it, almost like a tail.

The main light slowed down im the middle part of the video before continuing on its path. It was such an unnatural motion, not something you’d expect from a typical aircraft or any reflection.

I was watching a podcast on YouTube about UFOs and remembered this video which I took that day and thought of sharing it here. If anyone has any insight into what this could be, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts! Here’s the video link so you can see it for yourself – let me know what you think.

Which localities have no power cuts?

I live in Sanjaynagar which is a fairly developed locality, close to new bel road and dollars colony which is a very posh area. Still there are power cuts almost daily in the afternoon.

This is disappointing as Bangalore is called the "silicon valley" of India yet struggles with stable electricity supply. I have lived in a suburb in Mumbai for 20 years and experience power cuts around just once or twice per YEAR.

Which areas in Bangalore have no power cuts or very very rare powercuts?

The waqf board claiming hundreds of acres of land in Karnataka is just a election gimmick

In the recent times, many news outlets and political organizations have been shouting that waqf is illegally claiming farmers and historical lands. This is just a election gimmick. The state's assembly re-elections is near and districts that are in elections, have made the most headlines regarding waqfI have a few questions :

  1. Why didn't it make headlines before 2 months ?
  2. Why is waqf claiming the lands all of a sudden ?
  3. Many historical lands have been in controversy from 2005 , like the famous Bidar fort, why is it making headlines after 2 decades ?
  4. Why is JDS and BJP, not taking the matter to court of law , when they are confident about it ?
  5. Will the controversy still be alive after the elections?
  6. What's the Home ministry doing about it ?
  7. Waqf claiming lands are making headlines in Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka, why doesn't it make headlines in BJP ruled states ?
  8. Why is BJP's diaper baby , with the help of fake news channel Republic TV, is spreading fake news in Twitter ?

At the end , the BJP will never stop waqf board's licence, if they wanted they could do in the last decade. Why are they still afraid of making actions ? They need a topic to speak and tell the country, Hindus are in Danger.

On the other hand, the Congress won't bring in laws to stop them , fearing losing their vote bank

I believe the whole controversy is Election gimmick and will die out after the assembly re-elections is done and will re-suffer sooner in the next elections.

If your internet is down for over 24 hours, contact your service provider for a compensation!

So, a few days ago my internet randomly stopped working, which I promptly complained to ACT Fibernet and because of some issues it wasn't resolved even after 24 hours. They resolved it after approx 30 hours.

I've been with ACT for over 10 years now and this was the first time in the past 5-6 years that it was down for more than a day. I was talking about this with my cousin and he informed me that as per TRAI guidelines companies are supposed to either wave the fee for the day or provide a compensation.

So, I sent a DM to ACT Fibernet customer care over X/Twitter asking for compensation as per TRAI guidelines and guess what - they waived the fee for the entire month.

So, would recommend everyone to do this going forward.

BBMP guy abusing , when posted a pic in ward group about a lot of smoke coming after garbage burning

I noticed lot of garbage being burnt by BBMP people near surroundings area by pourakarmika's , posted it in Mahadevapura ward group ,

Got a call from BBMP guy , asking name and where I live ,why did you complain about garbage being burnt in the group.

I told simply I put a pic about garbage being burnt openly , when lot of smoke is coming

He started hurling abuses , kept the phone in airplane mode , to avoid the conversation

BBMP guys are worse , with no proper plan to save Bengaluru , they either dump in landfill / burn the garbage in large amounts , so surrounding air get's polluted.

A Formula 1 track in Bangalore

Hello! I'm a fourth year architecture student. My thesis for the upcoming year will be focusing on designing a Formula 1 race track in Bangalore, exploring the feasibility, technical aspects, and urban integration of such a facility.

I have a couple of questions and I need advice!

1.How receptive do you think the local population would be to the introduction of a Formula 1 track and the sport in Bangalore, considering the challenges F1 has faced in India in the past, such as tax-related issues?

2.What potential economic and social impacts do you foresee for Bangalore as a result of hosting a Formula 1 race, in terms of local businesses, tourism, and the surrounding infrastructure?

3.Do you believe that an F1 track in Bangalore could have a similar transformative effect on the city as the recent developments surrounding the Las Vegas Grand Prix, in terms of global exposure and economic growth?

4.Are there any architects or experts who have experience or insights into designing major motorsport facilities who could provide valuable advice for my thesis on this topic?
