I’ve always been curious about Bali Belly as locals are obviously more immune and don’t get sick but if a drop of the wrong water gets in tourists mouths they can get really sick and their holiday is ruined. Let’s say over the next 5 years I plan to go to Bali a minimum of once a year. If each time I’m there, on the last day of my holiday before heading to the airport I take a big gulp of tap water and deal with being sick at home will I build up immunity enough to where there is no chance of me accidentally getting Bali belly mid holiday another time?
Looking for someone in Bali to post me a couple packets of sampoerna A mild smokes. Can’t get them in Aus anywhere.
I lost mine and want a replacement for my next journey
Where can I do an authentic purification ceremony in Ubud?
Just giving people the heads up to probably try another one as this hardly works and if it does it is super slow
We got a voucher from karma group at pandava beach, out of curiosity we visited the resort and they convinced us to join,is this a scam . please help?
Hi, do you guys have recommendation for Sunrise Hike around Bali?
I usually go camping by a lake or river, but I’ve never tried camping up on a mountain or hilltop. I’m really itching to try it now. The main reason I haven’t hiked before is that I’m not super athletic, and worry that hiking might wear me out too much, which could lead to injuries or even getting lost out there.
I heard Trunyan Hill is a good spot, but if you know of any beginner-friendly trails where I can catch the sunrise without too much effort, that’d be awesome!
I have a visitor visa for 30 days. I just realized that my 30-day visa expires on November 17, and my flight leaves at 1:30 a.m. on November 18.
When I attempt to extend the visa, this image pops up. Are there any workarounds? I have read that others have been able to extend their visa one week before expiration, and I am puzzled as to why I can't extend my visa. Did they change the policy so that you must extend your visa more than 14 days before expiration, or is there something going on with the system?
I have read that others just pay the fine, but when I read the official Indonesia website, I see these consequences are possible: If you overstay your visa, you might be asked to pay fines of IDR 1,000,000 per day, detained, deported, or banned future travel to Indonesia for a specific period. I really don't want to be banned from future travel, detained, etc.
Thanks for any suggestions or help!
Hello Can anyone provide recommendations for spa/massages in Ubud and Sanur?
Currently we have narrowed down to Kara spa in Ubud and the nest beachside spa in Sanur
Facial treatments are 1,000,000 + in the nest spa , is that worth the premium ? Karsa is a lot cheaper but we feel we would be missing out on a premium treatment experience
Hello everyone!
I arrived in on 7th of October, and had an e-VOA that got me through. I paid for the extension a week ago and got a receipt for the same. But, no email or confirmation from the Imigrasi website. I checked my account and it doesn't say anything about the extended visa.
What exactly do I show at the airport when going back to my country? My flight is on the 3rd of December, so still a month to go.
Im on my death bed at the moment (at least what it feels like), violent vomiting and diarrhea. Been going on all day. Will it resolve itself or should i actually try to get a dr? I’ve been throwing up and feeling better then it starts to build up again for a few hours. Third time on this cycle while i type this. It’s about 6 PM and we have a trip planned early tomorrow morning. Any tips to get better quick?
hi guys, i’m planning to get both my open and advanced water certification next year in april in bali. do you guys have any recommendations on any companies that offer both certifications at once? i’m hoping to find something more affordable and i hope to be able to complete it in 4-5 days
Have a relative heading to Bali later this year. I was wondering if any of the markets sell any of the following Aussie brands- Country Road Aje Oroton
I’ve seen a bit of Mimco but not much else. Does anyone know?
Also, do any of the market shops have websites or FB pages I could check out beforehand to make a shopping list?
I’m planning to stay at least a week in Gili Air or Gili Meno. While there I also plan to do a bit of work online. In Bali I can rely on my mobile internet (Telkomsel) when WiFi is not stable enough.
How is the internet connection in Gili? Do most hotels have stable internet? Does Telkomsel data or other local carrier work okay there?
Any inputs will be appreciated :)
Talked with an agent I’ve used before 6 years ago, for a 2 month visa. It would cost me 2.500.000 (IDR) - $240.45 AUD. I’m getting a bit lost in how much it should cost me, hoping to get an average of regular price and advice before I pay
Edit: I was considering studying in Bali, that’s why I contacted an agent. But first going for a holiday. I will go with the tourist visa and extend it. Thank you for the link and all your kind responses!
Hi everyone
I am going to Singapore (from Denmark) tomorrow, and from Singapore to Bali from the 7th to the 17th.
Trying to do the check-in, I realized my passport will expire in February (less than 6 months from now). I can get an emergency passport OR an extension at the police in the airport. And that will be fine for Singapore. But will they let me into Bali with an extension of my passport?
I know they won't allow an emergency/temporary passport, but I checked the immigration service website and it says extensions are allowed (an extension I assume is just a paper which supplements your passport, rather than a passport). I just want to know if anyone has gotten in on an extension?
Thank you!
I just got to Canguu and I somehow arrived without my daily walking shoes.
Any suggestions for a shop in town I can go to buy a pair of shoes?
I usually wear Vans. Or some Nikes would be okay
Anybody ever spent their time in Nusa Penida during New Year??
Not looking for anything crazy parties but atleast some good party vibe would be great.
Planning to be there for New Year, as Bali is too crazy for me during that time..
Also share any good backpacker hostels that you know..
Thanks.
Hello, yesterday i was out horse riding around 5 in the afternoon. I realized when i came back that my body was full of mosquito bites and i am really really scared of dengue. Are the chances really that high? I'm very anxious
I've been to the Gilis many times before, but never moved between the islands after 5pm! This time around ill be spreading my time between all 3 islands but staying on Gili T.
Question:
Can you get a local boat back from Air & Meno after the 5pm ferries finish pretty easily?
Recommendation Requests:
Hit me with all your favourite spots and things to do on Air & Meno!
Looking on Saily to get an esim for my bali trip but then noticed they sell regional sims. I am going to Thailand after so wondered if its better to get a regional one instead
I got a Wise card earlier on in the year and used it in the US and it was great. Never tried it on a less developed country though so does anyone have any experience? Obviously there is tap and go but what about getting cash out? Is there certain atms to use?
Re: accom booking, for hostels and the odd hotel for a trip start from start to mid december this year. Should I book ALL the accomodation NOW, or just book first few days and rest when we are there? I've been told booking once there is sweet but is this time of year quite busy?
any advice appreciated :)
Hello all! My boyfriend and I are visiting for a proper vacation for two weeks this month and I want to make sure we are prepared. All our hotels are paid in advanced, so I was wondering how much cash I should have on hand for things like food, tipping, etc. I'd like to use my card when possible but obviously smaller amounts would be easier with cash. Thanks all!
Hi guys, I am not quite sure whether it’s overpriced. The hotel in Ubud asks 500k for a ride for two persons to Kusamba Harbour. Is this price reasonable? I am considering using gojek, but I am concerned about the taxi mafia at the harbor area (if any)…
If I want to stay on Bali for 3-4 months, is that possible? Seems like I can only get a 30 day visa and 1 time extension, so 60 days in total.
I'm so new with this and need guidance, so I hope someone can help me out?
Hey there, as usual i'm bargaining over WA with some taxi guy to find my airport transfer at a decent price. As usual, prices start high then are lowering because I didn't acknowledge immediately. I remember it was the same circus on streets. Spending time to bargain ask several people to define what is the fair price and finally choose one random driver among the cheapest.
Is there some known prices that are acceptable for both parties somewhere ? I don't feel bad to bargain but I had a bad experience one time with an angry taxi driver because I went in the wrong car (the guy lure me pretending to be the Wayan). I got tons of insults over WA after that.
Sorry for mixing things together, but I want to pay the fair price while not bothering people.
So I’ve just gotten my e-visa approved, everything is correct BUT I noticed my title is Mrs instead of did Miss - will that be a problem? Thank you!
Hey folks. I'm looking to do some volunteer work at an orphanage. I went to one and it was a total miss in Renon. Very upscale? Im looking for something where I can have more impact. I have a little bit of background in orphan care ages 2 to 5.
Thank you.
