User sent me a chat to buy a DLC game I posted and when I asked him to comment on my post first (group rule to help block scammers) he got very defensive. Sent the messages to the group mods for review and they are monitoring him as well

Transferred agreed payment to /u/Open_Firefighter_682/ to purchase festival tickets.

User ghosted and blocked me without delivering any tickets.

Just an FYI to other subreddits. He has hit up probably 10+ users and is a known scammer. Per another user, JohnstonGarageGTS is listed on the universal scammer list, for faking a timestamp on r/WatchExchange.

That is where my screenshots begin. They claimed to have several copies of GTA V, and they said they would be willing to trade. We sorted out a two game for two game trade in PMs. I sent my two games to their address last week, and they have essentially ghosted me. They received my games on Monday. No packages coming my way according to USPS.

Account looked real (2 years old, plenty of relevant comments and posts). I should not have trusted them, of course. Luckily, the two games I sent have just been collecting dust and are not a huge loss. Still, feels bad man! This trade was not initiated via r/gametrade, but the scammer seems to use that sub. Watch Out!

He said its not available yet and takes time but its wrong because on my first trade I traded a delta gift card as well and the guy booked his flight in 30 minutes. Hello everyone! After having my heart broken for the 2nd time in 24 hours over losing $25 2 times in a row I thought I would make a post here to let you guys know the pieces of shit that actually did this. The first one is Larbuddha. I admit I should have checked the scam list better on him but I just didn't pay attention enough to it and ate the fucking dust. I gave this kid my $25 Google Play card I got from my Grandma from Christmas because I couldn't use it on my phone and wanted Borderlands 3 instead. I was an idiot and got scammed. Was sad about it but then went on my quest to somehow trade game keys for Borderlands 3 instead! All went to plan, I had my games list ready to go and everything. He scammed me. I was even nice enough to give him an Dota 2 announcer pack because I felt bad about trading him so late at night. I just wish people didn't have to act like that and just be so rude. I was as nice and polite as I could be the whole time (even giving him a free skin) and I still get scammed. I give up on trading with people. (I did check Mints rep, I couldn't find him having a bad trade or anything anywhere.)

He deleted his r/redditbay post but his comments are still on the post if you check his comment history. I also saved a selfie before he deleted it

I had posted to someone else's thread in r/SteamGameSwap, and got a pm from u/namichuan. I had read the forum rules, and the warnings, but he sent me a Steam invite from an account with an impeccable reputation (MurFuse). I'm guessing he hijacks Steam accounts, as he has used others in the past.

Turns out that u/namichuan has a bit of a reputation over at Universal Scammer List, being permanently banned from 67 different Reddit communities!

Warning to others - check the person's Reddit rep as well as their Steam rep, and follow the rules of the community (including no PMs) - they're there for a reason.

After u/RoxChrome initiated the trade I checked his history and his Rep profile now all it's content are deleted by mods (Use Removeddit). Although same account traded with him 3 times and another account did it twice (I cannot provide their username as I don't want to defame them) the account with 3 trades (with this scammer) has good REP and is older in age. So it seemed legit to me and we started our conversation in PM & then in DM. After I sent him LTC he deleted all his chat in DM and started to denying to pay me by saying we never traded, give me proof that we ever talked and stuff like that. But fortunately I took screenshots of our chat which I used as a proof against him and reported the mods. I am pretty sure he has many alternative accounts because he needs to sell his amazon balance (He is a mturker) and will keep scamming people with those accounts. So beware and never do any trade via Direct messages.

So I have seen various places about users being able to get an iOS or MacOS device out of activation lock. I just want to make clear that nobody has these capabilities and the users will often request a gift card (typically iTunes gift cards) to make an excuse to be able to “connect” with a certain server or complete a certain process. I would like to say that the only way you will be able to remove an activation lock from an Apple device is to have the previous owners Apple ID information or the original proof of purchase from an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Reseller/Retailer or a carrier. That being said, when purchasing Apple devices, ensure that the device is erased AND that the previous owner has signed out of the device before erasing. Hope this helps!
