All robot mowers welcome!
I have a Husqvarna Automower, thought it would be good to have a sub about these things.
I, for one, welcome out new robot lawn mowing overlords.
All lawn bots welome!

We’re in that hinterland where it’s warming up a bit and sunny (sometimes) and the grass is starting to grow, but it’s still cold overnight. What temperature are you happy to leave your mower out in?
Our mower has been offline for a while now, this is country NSW Australia. Anyone know if it's a Sim plan limitation, 3G switch off or something? It's quite a few years old now but not at the 10yr mark they said the Sim would last for. Also can't get it to connect over Bluetooth even though I see it in the Bluetooth menu
Hello,
On appearance, it looks quite simple. There is space for a 2nd battery pack and I can see an available port on the motherboard. But I'm wondering if it will be recognised with 430x firmware?
Has anyone added a 2nd battery? Did it go well?
Hi, what happens if I bought Gardena smart sileno for 750m2, but I extend boundary wire and use this for 1000 m2(square meters)?

Going to Kickstarter soon. Given the traditional blade, this model is interesting. I also believe there original Mowrator (which is remote controlled) are available now, so the company has some credibility.
I have a Luba 2 but just wish it did a better job of mulching any dropped leaves.
Was looking for a robot mower for my 3 acre yard. Most models today arent made for a yard that big. I was sooo close to ordering a Yarbo, people seem to really like them but it still has the small razor blades that dont do anything for leaves. I cant be raking or blowing leaves on a yard as big as mine. Plus its $5400 after considering shipping and taxes.
The Lymow unit uses regular blades, can mow 1.75acres a day, seems to tackle taller grass better, and costs $2050 all-in. Of course there is a risk, since they are in the startup phase and havent shipped anything, but they are very active on facebook and kickstarter and youtube providing updates about production status and everything else. I haven't seen a bad review on it yet from the beta testers. Maybe I lose my $2k, but if I get a unit that works 75% as well as advertised I'll be happy.
Projected shipping is May so I'll update when I get it (which will probably get delayed but I'm sort of expecting that)
Hi all, I have a 120m2 small yard, no trees, wide padding.
I had my mind set on the i108e
But with the new H500evf an almost the same price and now the Yuka mini almost at HALF!
should I go for the H? It's praised for many aspects over the I series. The price difference is negliable here now and the V series the vision based avoidance is also there.
lot of mixed around the mamotion devices, should I be afraid? I can live with hiccups, but I want proper warranty, service and not having the device gone for weeks.
any experience with Segway warranty?
As my area is designed for this, and quite small any of these could work but 1000Eur is still quite a money!
Thanks!

I put off buying one of these because the slope of my yard slightly exceeded the ratings, both on an interior section and along two of the four boundaries. After a full season of use, the mower only got stuck one time and it was my fault. I installed the boundary wire myself, and got the wire too close to a drop off into a flower bed of my terrace. I did install the all terrain wheels. I'm very happy with this purchase!
One thing to consider is related to grass height and health. The grass height comparison is more than just the height of the Automower to the height of your traditional mower. The Automower cuts the grass more frequently than what it otherwise would be cut. The more time between cuts, the longer the grass gets and the more water it can hold. Regardless of the Automower you choose, your grass won't get as long between cuts.
This may not be an issue for your lawn, but in my case I suspect that it may have been. I *think* the shorter grass height (on a daily average) contributed to my lawn not looking quite as nice as what it has in previous years. My Automower blades are at he highest setting and are exactly the same height as my push mower blades. That said, last summer was hotter than normal. The soil around here is bad enough that you have to treat your yard and water it to keep it looking good. I have a fescue lawn and live in middle TN.
All of that said, I am still very happy with the Automower and just plan on setting the schedule differently next summer, so that there is greater time between cuts. It was really nice to re-direct my time elsewhere. I have always liked mowing my yard, but didn't miss it as much as I thought I would.
Do robot mowers have a helpful cousin that can rake the lawn before they mow? I have had a robot mower for around 2 years and very satisfied with it. However, living in Sydney my lawn is subject to year round leaf fall, twigs of varying sizes, smaller branches and sheets of bark thanks to the established gum trees surrounding my back yard. Larger stuff aside that is cleared by hand, a petrol mower can generally mulch the majority of this debris into its grass collector. Robot mowers, on the other hand, are obviously not designed to mulch or collect debris. Whilst it is probably not a major issue, other than the occasional tangle, twigs cause quite the unpleasant grinding noise and I assume dull the blades prematurely. As a result, I now spend a fair amount of the time saved on mowing by raking and clearing my lawn beforehand! Anyone else have this issue and what is your solution?
What lawnmower robot do you guys suggest based on your experience?
Hi
Robomow RT700 vs. Worx Landroid WR165: Which Robotic Lawnmower Should I Choose?
I have 300sqm rectangular yard , without slopes
Thanks for the help
I am working on upgrading ecoflow blades. I am curious if any of you might have an idea of how to properly engineer wheel and tire designs.
Although I am working on the blade platform, I am sure this information could be useful on many other platforms as well, as many mowers seem to use a rear two wheel drive system with some semblance of a front wheel. On the blades we have the strange omni wheels, which are surprisingly reliable… on my landroids they use a terrible rotating caster.
As my Blades often find loose dirt or sand, loose traction and dig themselves in, I figured a possible solution would be to triple the wheel width. I havent found a reason why extending the wheel in toward the frame 50mm and outward 50mm might stop them from functioning.
However, Id guess when they go to rotate in place, the additional width would drag along the ground, maybe ripping up the grass?
I am 3d printing this test right now, but figured I would reach out to see if y’all had any other ideas.
There are so many options, do y’all think the studded design that seems ubiquitous across all of the robots is actually the best tread design? Maybe a paddle design to handle loose dirt and sand might be better under certain conditions? Maybe I should taper the tire so that only the original 50mm is in contact with the ground, unless it starts to dig its-self in?
Maybe some form of hybrid design with paddles and studs? Maybe set the paddles in like the tapered design so they only engage when the robots try to dig themselves in.
Maybe all of these approaches are awful, maybe a tracked design would be superior… or maybe that would just tear up the grass like my skid steer…
What do y’all think?
Gardena 1050 euro, Bosch 750 euro
Garden size is around 600 m2. Perimeter already installed (previous mower was Gardena). I like to have ease of mind and don’t worry to much (not getting stuck with other Words). I read good and bad reviews of both. What would be the best choice according to you and why?
I like that you can hose off the Gardena, which you cannot do with the Bosch. But maybe this plus is not as relevant.
Thanks for your help!
I have 5 of the 550H Husqvarna Automowers remaining. (Read my original post for context)
I purchased 10 automowers (550H) (have access to 20 additional if there is interest). I've sold 5 this week to fellow r/automowers members, and have 5 remaining. Price is $900 + $100 for UPS shipping. Brand new in box, comes with PIN. I've attached my purchasing invoice for those that would like to confirm. Chat me if interested. Thanks!
Hi All,
Complete newbie - overwhelmed by youtube videos - and no idea what to do. Have a new property in Spain, with a pool - and about 100 sq m of grass.
Been looking at the Segway Navimow (no boundary wire). Have zero experience and want to learn from all your experience.
Considerations:
The final question....
- Should I just consider a conventional mower, given all the risks?
hope to hear, thank you
You can see all the grass here. Not very large. Circa. 100m²
This looks interesting from the dreame sub brand
Apologies if this is a lazy post and I'm just supposed to "do my own research." I have a 1-ish acre yard. It's quite uneven. I also have kids aged 4-9 and dogs. There are toys and poop almost all the time in my yard. But, I figure if I and the kids spend 20 minutes before a mow cleaning up it should be ok, and that is much less time than I typically spend mowing.
Here's the satellite of my yard:
There are a few gardens and several trees to avoid, and ideally I would like it to be able to mow outside the fence (highlighted yellow) as well as inside. There are also some rocks and roots which my riding mower blades will hit if I don't avoid them.
I don't think I'm interested in laying a bunch of guide wires in the ground for no-go zones.
So, is this just too hard of a yard (kids plus dogs plus hilly plus gardens plus inside and outside the gate etc etc)?
Or is the technology come far enough that this might be possible? I do like tech and fidgeting with things, but I am mostly interested in saving time. So if I'm better off just buying another tractor from a time perspective, that is fine with me. Any insight or feedback on best models for this use case (or that the tech just isn't far enough along for this type of yard) would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Just noticed the new Mammotion products for 2025 have just dropped -
Luba Mini https://mammotion.com/pages/luba-mini-awd Yuka Mini https://mammotion.com/pages/yuka-mini
There also appears to be a cosmetic refresh / minor update to Luba 2 (I can notice any major spec differences, though only 3000 & 5000 models seem to be in the line up). https://mammotion.com/pages/luba-2-awd
4G (and a subscription service) has been introduced on all of these models.
Pre-orders are open, shipping ETA in April.
IMHO the Luba Mini looks fantastic for those with a smaller yard who don't need the leaf sweeper of the Yuka. The Yuka Mini looks like a bit of a toy.
I've been looking at robot mowers, and I've been leaning towards the luba 2 more and more since I found it. I've also bought from aliexpress before, but cheap shit. My generic quadlock mount for my motorcycle is AWESOME, and was $11 instead of $120.
Has anyone else bought something this expensive from there? If it's legit, it'll be a HUGE saving over retail price.
Hello guys, im new here. I'm looking for automatic lawnmower for my garden. It's around 1000 square meters. My bugdet is around 2000$ and it needs to be wireless. I was looking at thing called Segway Navimow i110N and I really don't know if its good or no. Can you guide me which are worth of buying?
Hi I’m looking for a auto mower (preferably in the 1000 rollers euros price range ) for a over 2000 sqm yard (not lawn) that is uneven and has lots of trees.
Initially I wanted the landroid l2000 but figured the Ambrogio was better suited for uneven terrain.
But I am willing to look at more options. Thanks for replies, this is my first post here so sorry if this was asked before.
Hi i am planning on getting a automower for a 2000 sqm garden (not lawn), mostly not completely flat with a lot of trees. I was lookiing at the Landroid l200 but figured that the ambrogio is better suited for uneven terrain. But if there are others (preferably in the 1000 dollars/euros price range ) i would like to know. This is my first post here so sorry if i ddint use the right f
Based on the silhouette it sure looks similar.
I am going to be shipping my automower soon. I have the original box. Is that what Husqvarna ships the device in? Or do they put it inside of a more protective box?
