Just cause you saw it on Youtube doesn't mean its the right way to do it.

A scratch turned into peeing paint after I waited too long to fix it. Could I just prime it and then paint with clear coat? How would you guys go about doing this job, thanks
He said that a car hit it while it was parked, but to me it looks like something that only could have happened while driving. Any thoughts?
3m tape from my spoiler is separating from trunk decklid. I would really rather avoid doing anything that involves removing the spoiler to try and fix it (have bought 2 different aftermarket spoilers before this that had the same problem). Just really tired and frustrated at this point. What are my options here?
So I know they're not the highest quality supposedly. But c'mon, it's just plastic, nobody's gonna be banging on them, they're just gonna be sitting there.
And they're franction of the cost even if you buy from a junk yard.
Do you think this small dent at the bottom of my tail gate can be removed ?
Obviously have insurance and planning on going to the shop. 2018 f-150
Just wondering you guy’s opinions
Just had my new bumper painted and the shop filled the parking sensor holes for me (I had sensors there as placeholders but they weren’t actually functional because my model doesn’t come with them). Today I noticed a little “lump” under the paint – sent a photo to the painter and he said maybe the plastic has let go a bit (the plastic that filled the hole) and to drop it back next week. I’m hoping the whole bumper doesn’t have to be resprayed, but if that’s the best option to get a perfect finish then I’d rather he do that than just a localised repair.
Thoughts on what would need to be done?
Hi I bought this wing new, and when I pointed out the damage to the supplier they said that they would swap it, but then realised the other one they had had the same problem, so they offered me a refund and told me to keep it.
So lets say that my choices are to use it as is, or attempt to repair it then use it, is it worth a crack at repairing? The cloudy white is under the surface, as are the two yellowih spots. If I gradually sand it all back down to the issue or to the carbon, then re-clear it, is it likely to end well? Cheers.
they have some kind of oven to cure the paint and then they plan to apply 3M Ceramic Coating after 24 hours. I am sure this is okay but everything I read online suggests waiting 2-4 weeks+ after new paint. just wondering what other people think about this
2023 Audi Q5 - I was not at fault. A woman ran a red light and I hit her 3 days ago. It was towed to a body shop and I’m just waiting for insurance to get back to me. There are a ton of sensors and camera in the front, the wheel is damaged and the doors on that side won’t open. I know that Audi parts are ridiculously expensive. It’s driving me crazy waiting to hear something so I thought I would get some opinions. TIA
Hi all,
I'm new to reddit as I come from London UK. I need your help with my spray booth. I have built a small spray booth to use for small projects like my wing mirror cover, brake booster and few others.
Here is what my small spray booth looks like as I attached the picture.
I'm having a problem with spraying in outdoors because the temperature is 57 degrees as it is cold and damp. I will get the blushing on my wing mirror cover that went from black to grey when I sprayed base coats.
I'd like to buy heater but not sure what heater I need to get?
I want to get small heater to warm it up inside the booth up to 70 degrees so I can spray 2k base coats and clear coats. My overall spray booth size is: 49cm x 49cm x 49cm. I could upgrade it to make it little bit more bigger.
Do I also need ventilation?
If so what ventilation I need to get for small spray booth??
Concerned about this crack on the A pillar. It doesn’t go all the way through but eventually will. I have light welding experience with joining things together but not filling a crack. Im under the impression crack needs to be scored with a grinder then filled, but how do you know when you’ve ground out all of the “crack”. Any insight is appreciated
I had to remove that white center bar to replace the floorpan, It's also rusted through on the right side so I want to replace that too. I'm having a hard time sourcing it, not sure what it's called.
I am concerned with the recycled and aftermarket psrts. Of course this is a progressive review
Hey, y'all! To make a long story short-ish, I hit a deer in my 2015 Jeep Patriot in February. I went through insurance for like $9,000 in repairs done, paid with my insurance and got the car back in March. It was a long process, but no crazier than normal when dealing with auto body work and insurance and the car works fine now, so all was well. Cut to a few minutes ago and my insurance adjuster calls to say that the auto body shop actually just submitted a supplement for the repairs and are now requesting payment for an additional $2,000+ in work and parts, some seven months after I paid and got the car back. This addition makes the car technically a 99% loss, so I'm getting a new adjuster, but this all just seems suspicious and weird. Have y'all ever had something like this happen with your car or in your shops? Could this mean more money or anything from me? I own the car outright, in case that changes things at all.
I got into an accident last night. My fault. This is the damage. Would it be possible to bend it take out the dent ? Or am I looking at a new bumper. This is ‘07 Corolla so I’m sure there are bumpers I can buy but I’m worried about the labor and costs :(
I know the damage is rather minor, however I just got the car and love it. Plan to keep it for quite some time. My questions is should I insist the shop get a new bumper since this one was slightly cut into, and it does appear to be a bit misaligned now. Do have drivers information, insurance, and a video from a local business of him backing into my vehicle. Said he’d like to pay for it personally so I’m going to get several quotes next week to fix it. Any and all advice is EXTREMELY appreciated. Thank you for your time and responses. Please have a phenomenal weekend everyone!
Looking for something I can use a syringe on
Edit: This is a body shop project idea, not a business idea.
I'm setting up a garage body shop and looking for advice on what I should keep in mind. Specifically, I'm wondering about the impact of colder temperatures on processes like coating, painting, and drying. Are there precautions or adjustments I should make to ensure quality results?
My initial plan is to divide the garage into separate work and spray booth area. I’ll build the spray booth using a wooden frame covered with plastic sheeting, and I’ll install a filtered blower to ensure proper airflow in and out of the area.
What should I keep in mind? Any advice?
Recently I have been in a accident in my 2005 Camry, my friend was in the car and apparently he said i had a seizure and gassed it . I was unconscious during all of this and came too in the ambulance, confused demanding them too tell me if my friends ok. (He was , an officer dropped him off home thankfully) but anyways I was seeing if its good too buy it back and fix the front or just junk it , its at the auction rn because I couldn’t get it put the tow lot in time. And the car runs mint , minus the front end damage. And highest bid is 25$. Whats your guys thoughts? Is it a good investment?
My grandma was in an accident and the car suffered damage to the front passenger side. It's a Toyota Corolla, 2002, very gently used, and has 15k miles. The insurance company gave her $2200 and said the car is totaled but she still wants to keep it for emotional reasons.
The body shop refuses to fix the car and said they want her to sign the title over to them. Why would the body shop refuse to fix it, even if it costs a lot, if she is willing to pay?
Edit : apparently the insurance company wants the title signed over to them. I don’t think it’s the body shop that wants it .
Edit: I managed to get her to take a photo. https://i.imgur.com/OlX6tD3.jpeg
