So, I’ve got my hands on this family heirloom. It’s from 1864, so before the Compromise, and it is something to do with resignation from an infantry regiment.
Unfortunately I can’t speak german, nor I’m familiar with Habsburg era documents. Can someone help me deduce, what kind of document is this exactly?
we were from burgenland but he worked as a pastry chef at the sacher hotel - not sure why he was in the army or the police but more info as to what he was would be greatly appreciated
It's confirmed that the British royal family has some Croatian lineage, thanks to Francis of Teck (whose mom was from the lower Hungarian nobility). However, I haven't yet managed to find any Croatian ancestry in other European royal houses, including the Habsburgs. So if anyone has some insider knowledge, I'm all ears.
Hello all. I am working on my Great Grandfather's history and he was killed in action. Near Doberdo from his military records. He was a Czech and was originally in the 36th regiment, but when that was disbanded he was sent to the 82nd IR. From what I can discover, the 82nd fought on the Eastern Front. Is there a place where I could see the records of where different regiments fought. I would just like to me a little more sure about where he died. Any help is appreciated.
Hi all, I posted this on r/WW1 but I was told that posting here might help! I’m trying to find out if this uniform is authentic or a fake, it’s supposedly a Czech uniform from the time but it looks different from everything I’ve seen online! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Do we know how many soldiers the 102 Infantry regeiments of the KuK monrachy had during peace time?
maybe this has been posted before but Weihs' channel deserves more subscribers
In Kaiserposting for example they have a ton of unique post flair. I don't think we should make our own versions of the stuff they have, but we could definitley use a wider variety that has charm to it.
Maybe also user flair while you are at it.
Mods: Please, that would make this place better.
Others: Comment with ideas.
I'm in search of my great-grandparent's hometowns! I found this on what I believe is his WWI draft card. We know the family was Croatian/spoke Croatian. I can't read the town well, I think it may be Novska or Novačka? Want some insight into any other town possibilities!
Additionally, a few last names in our family have been altered and they are now spelled Frankovitch/Petrusich but what would be the Croatian version of these? Thanks!
