Looking for experienced roleplayers to do a 4-6 session campaign to test the systems in my original ttrpg that I plan to publish in the future. The game takes place in a hard sci-fi 19th century alternate America, and aims to satirize the time period and subvert the tropes of western media myths. This is a mature southern gothic setting, not a rootin' tootin' playground. The sci-fi aspects of the universe amplify the lessons and themes we can glean from real history. You can expect for your character to be concerned with survival over adventure, and real world social and political issues taken from American history will fill out the world as the players complete their mysterious mission from an unknown puppetmaster.
If you're interested in playing and are available in person or online on thursday or friday evenings, reply here or DM me, and i can send you the PDF rulebook. Thanks for considering!

HOSTED BY JEFF, HANNAH, NATHANIEL AND THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE OF BUZZMILL
BIG THANK YOU TO OUR DMS AND PLAYERS
Hi,
Continuing the community corralling and discussion for players and DMs interested in the weekday evenings playing 5th edition D&D.
This is "built" entirely by the efforts of the interested. So lets start the discussion here and see if more playing is in the dice !!
Currently Dragons Lair is the location for playing, and Tuesday night is the night.
You don't have to be a worker to be involved, it is more about a schedule for people who are looking to play during the Mon - Thurs evening time frame.
Hi all! I'm (31M) a longtime GM of many different TTRPGs, and I'm new to the Austin area. I play a lot online, but I haven't had a solid in-person gaming group since before the pandemic. I'd love to get a crew together to play some regular tabletop RPGs or board games!
I'm located in Central Austin, and I'm more than happy to host (I have a new table that I'm excited to try out). The most ideal days to play would be Friday or Saturday. I mostly prefer to GM, but I'm always open to other people running games, too!
This group would 100% be LGBTQ+ friendly, left-leaning, and an open, inviting space. I'll probably want to chat online to get to know each other before scheduling anything, so if you're alright with all that, give me a shout!
Dungeons & Drafts is an open rpg night that welcomes new and experienced players, DMs, and the rpg-curious to come out and play. There are standing tables of d&d 5/5.5e and there have been sessions of Heart, Mörk Borg, Star Wars, Shadowdark, Ten Candles, and Delta Green in the past. We meet at the tables by the JNL BBQ food truck at Buzz Mill (1505 Town Creek Dr.) - come out and roll some dice!
I run a welcoming one-shot table for those looking for a group. Join us to play Call of Cthulhu! New players are encouraged to join and pre-generated characters will be provided.
For those not familiar with Call of Cthulhu, it's a tabletop roleplaying game of secrets, mysteries, and horror. Playing the role of investigators, you travel to strange and dangerous places, uncover foul plots, and stand against the terrors of the Cthulhu Mythos. You encounter eldritch entities, unearthly monsters, and maniacal cultists. Within strange and forgotten tomes of lore your characters discover revelations that man was not meant to know, all in trying to solve the mystery, and hoping to make it out with their health, if not their sanity, intact.
I'll be running a starter adventure called Servants of the Lake:
The hunt for a missing person reveals ancient secrets in the wilds north of Kingsport and finds the investigators sequestered in a roadside motel where not all is as it seems...
Message me if you have any questions or want me to save you a seat at the table!
We are looking for DMs! Want to run your own table? If you are interested, message me.
I (30's M) am planning to run a module of the mech RPG Lancer, likely between 6-7 sessions depending how fast we move and the opportunity for more. This will be my first time GMing Lancer but I have been running a 5e D&D game for two years.
We currently have two other players (both 30's M) and we've all played or GM'd in multiple games together. Lancer is a crunchy, in-depth mech combat game but has a rich universe that is perfect for RPing characters. If you do not have the rules, then they can be provided before Session 0. I only ask that you read through the combat rules before then so you have an idea of what to expect. A laptop or similar device is very recommended to use the https://compcon.app/#/ site which will be used for building your character/mech and combat.

Please let me know if you are interested or have questions! 🏳️🌈 friendly, all are welcome!
Do you want to try out or play different tabletop systems but don't have the time to play in a bunch of games? Then this might be the game for you! I want to run a game where we test out different systems over the course of the campaign. It would be set in a world that was shattered at some point in the very distant past, with the laws of the world working differently on each shard (hence the changing game systems!). Which systems we try would be agreed on by the group.
Players must be LGBTQ+ friendly, and I'll want to chat with anyone interested to make sure we'll get along. Days/times will depend on player availability! If you're interested, let me know and we can chat!
THIS THURSDAY!!!

Well, okay, I do often play front-line fighters as well, but almost always stick to support or tanky roles. While I rarely brag, now seems like the time for it: I'm IRL one of the most Uncle Iroh people you will ever meet. Right down to the jasmine tea.
RP heavy games preferred over crunchy ones. LGBTQ+ positivity required. And I love interviewing if you'd like to chat with me first and get a feel for my personality. I can promise to give you some of the best one-liners in your game when it comes to dialogue while also not outshining other members of the group (unless you need a face). And I go out of my way to lift up the stories of other members of the group and contribute to their narrative. What can I say? I'm a support character IC, OOC, and meta C.
I'm not suitable for evil campaigns (tried and failed, but no judgement for those who like it). RP is my therapy and I'll just outright admit I need that right now, full disclosure and all.
Bonus: I had one of my DnD horror stories featured on Crispy's Tavern. Looking for the link to share, but let me know if you are curious.
Hi there! I recently (~3 months ago) began playing a remote game with a colleague’s established group and am really enjoying it. I would like to join an in-person game on the north side of town. I live in Hutto and am happy to travel to north Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Taylor, Georgetown, etc. My current game is on Tuesday nights, so I am unavailable to play then, but all other times are workable. If you have a group that wouldn’t mind having an inexperienced - but friendly and eager to learn - player jump in, please let me know.
Thank you for reading!

Hey all! Patrick (33m) here! Looking for 1-2 players for a long-term Greyhawk campaign Sundays at 1pm.
Me and one of the other players starting playing together 5 years ago in the backroom of a comedy club, so the tone can be very silly/chaotic. But I love good story arcs and intense combat.
If you’d be interested please message me here, or over on Discord at Magooby, with your name, DnD experience and what you enjoy most from a table!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Patrick
Hey yall, looking for a group for a long term campaign in the south Austin area. I’m in Kyle/ Buda, but I can travel a bit if needed. Been playing for about a year but took to it very quickly. Super chill and friendly with everyone, just looking to get connected with a group who want to go on some awesome adventures. I have characters built for every class so I can run whatever is needed.

But wait...What the heck is Wizard City? Aren't we playing DND?
We can answer that and YES!!!
What is Wizard City?
A magical world and creative project born from our passion for storytelling, music, and art. We are a collective of artists, musicians, and dreamers bringing Wizard City to life across multiple mediums—including animated music videos, a live puppet show, and a fully developed tabletop RPG. But Wizard City is more than a project; it’s our vision of a world where creativity is celebrated and where artists, in all their weird and wonderful forms, can thrive. Brainstormed from over 20 years of Dungeons and Dragons and hundreds of games...
Inspired by the vibrant yet ever-changing spirit of Austin, Texas, Wizard City is a satirical parody of modern life. It’s a place where wizards, magical creatures, and performers explore their identities, fight for their dreams, and discover what it truly means to sing their “authentic song”—even when tangled in bureaucracy, self-doubt, and the gritty obstacles of a city on the edge of change. With comedic, often exaggerated nods to pop culture and society, Wizard City brings a humorous yet heartfelt look at the struggles and joys of the creative journey.
Our mission goes beyond creating art. We’re here to support and celebrate the local Austin scene—those musicians, artists, and makers who pour their souls into their craft, year after year. We understand the grind, and we’re here to amplify the voices of this community, helping each other along the way. Whether you’re a part of Wizard City as a fan, collaborator, or fellow creative, we invite you to join us in building a world where artists can spend their lives doing what they love. Here, the multiverse needs you—just as you are.
Our website has all the info. Unfortunately, Reddit has a stick up their but about us directly posting the link even though we are through google approved? LOL, big media censorship on the local guy...
www. wizardcityofficial (.com) just copy by removing the spaces, or type it in or search us
check out our reviews if you are unsure, we are a budding community of wonderful people growing daily!!!
The cost is $20 per seat, and payments can be made via Venmo, Cash App, or cash. (this is an experience please arrive a few minute prior, we encourage costumes, props and anything to immerse yourself within.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Best,
Nathaniel presumed Wizard
Hey all!
New to this rad place and excited to get a game going.
Where's the best place to meet fellow nerds? I'm located in north Austin and would love to have some drop in games. Any good ones around my area?
I'm open to pretty much any ttrpg's and would be open to hearing some peoples experience with drop in games around the area.
Thanks for the help all!
They host DnD games on Thursdays with not a lot of information on the site. Thinking of trying it out but wasn't sure.
Has anyone attended and be willing to share their experience?

I run a welcoming one-shot table for those looking for a group. Join us to play Ten Candles. New players are encouraged to join! Character creation is quick and we'll do it at the table.
In the spirit of Halloween week, Ten Candles is an rpg designed for one-shot sessions of tragic horror. It is played by the light of ten tealights which act as a countdown timer and mechanic for the game. It is a "tragic horror" game rather than survival horror for one main reason: in Ten Candles there are no survivors. In the final scene of the game, when only one candle remains, all of the characters will die. In this, Ten Candles is not a game about "winning" or beating the monsters. Instead, it is a game about what happens in the dark and trying to survive within it.
You were on holiday at a cabin in the mountains; there's a nice lake out back and plenty of walking trails. It was a pleasant getaway from the pressures of work and life. Until ten days ago. Ten days ago the sun did not rise, and a few hours later, the stars winked out.
Through the radio's crackling static, you get what little information you can. Nobody knows what's happening. Five days ago chatter started up about "They who have come" - something monstrous that hunts in the dark. Maybe you've noticed tracks in the dirt, a shadow moving past the window, a crack of a branch – or maybe your mind has started playing tricks. All you know is, if there is something out there, they don't like the light, and they're hunting people down.
Now, the generator is spluttering, gasping for fuel, and your candles have burned low. Running short on food and spirit, it's probably time to head back down the mountain. It's a long road to town, but maybe the sheriff will have a better idea of what's going on.
Message me if you have any questions or want me to save you a seat at the table!
We are looking for DMs! Want to run your own game? Do you to bribe your players with drink tokens? If you are interested in running your own table, message me.
Hello!
I (30/m) just relocated to Smithville, I grew up in Elgin/Manor but have lived across the country the last ten years.
I've got extensive experience with Pathfinder and D&D 3.5 and I'm picking up 5th edition though the 2024 update is kinda throwing me for a loop.
I sat down at a table in Bastrop the other night at The Gaming Bunker (highly reccomended, the owners are super great guys) and had a blast which made me realize how much I miss Tabletop Gaming. I'm also an avid BG3 player though I've mostly played solo.
I'd love to find some folks from the Manor/Elgin/Bastrop area that want to get together once a week or so.
I'm also open to just making some friends in general! I'm divorced, sober and childless so my options for meeting other adults outside the work setting are somewhat limited. I enjoy tinkering, motorcycle camping, old movies, cooking/restaurants and weightlifting.
Thanks, hope to meet some of y'all soon!
Hey gang!
I've been working on new a campaign setting and I think I'm ready to start getting players together. We will be playing in Pflugerville every other week ether on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons for about four hours a session depending on the groups schedules.
First session we will roll up characters together.
I will be running the game and a life long friend will be playing so I'm looking for two or three more people.
This is a mix of OSRIC AD&D 1st edition and house rules from the years I played back in the day.
You don't need anything but dice, pencil and paper everything else needed to play will be provided. No need for a laptop or computing device of any kind. We are shooting for a distraction free gaming experience.
If you have never played AD&D 1e before there are no feats, skills or abilities. Things like "optimal builds" really don't exist ether.
I don't do many dungeon crawls preferring overland and city adventuring.
There is risk, danger, and reward. Your choices matter. Your character could die.
Shoot me a DM with questions if you are interested!
***UPDATE***
We have a full group! If you want to play something that isn't currently popular don't let that stop you from putting out the call. You may find enough people who want to play.
I'm currently running a group through the 'Odyssey of yhe dragonlords' module, a non official ancient Greek campaign and one of our players to had quit.
We have three players but I like to keep it to 4 so we can keep reasonably playing if someone isn't there.
Right now the players are about level 5 and about a third of the eay through.
We're a pretty easygoing group, looking to have fun and arent strict RP'ers.
We usually play around Saturday at noon at Emerald Tavern off 183. Kind of weird hours I know but it works for us.
If you're interested send me message and wr can talk.
I am starting a Delta Green campaign Sunday. I'm Austin-based, but it's Theater of the Mind via Discord on alternate Sundays. at 6:30pm and usually runs to 9 or a little over.
I expect this to last 6-9 months, and am looking for 1-2 more players that can commit to that.
Hello! Like the title said I’m looking to join a dnd group for a long term campaign in the north Austin area!
My last campaign recently reached its final conclusion so I’m looking to get back on the saddle and ride again. I’ve tried the one shots at places like dragons lair but… they’re not for me. I miss playing in a big world with backstory and growth and all the jazz that comes with dnd and I’m hoping to find one again
With how my work schedule goes I’m looking to play on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday 6-7pm onwards! Hit me up in dms if your band of adventurers has space for me!
My son loves D&D. He has many of the books, creates his own campaigns, etc. The problem is he's having a hard time finding anyone to really play D&D with.
It's not a lack of friends, and he's even in his school's D&D club. But every time the club meets, it's about 90% kids goofing around and 10% actually playing. And even then his friends just say things like "I kill that guy" every time it's their turn. It's fine for having a good time hanging out with friends, but he really wants to play the game the way it's meant to be played.
Does anyone have advice for how to maybe branch outside of his school and find other kids roughly his age who'd want to play? I know this sub is more geared to adults, but I'm hoping someone here might know of something like that. We're in SW Austin but I wouldn't mind driving him a bit further out on a weekend if needed.
Neither he nor I want him playing with people outside his age group right now, so we're not looking for anything like that, even though I have no doubt there are plenty of nice people here who'd otherwise be willing to welcome him to their groups.
Afternoon all, my DND Campaign fell apart last night due to two players withdrawing from the long term campaign. I live in Georgetown but do not mind commuting to North Austin for games. Please PM me or reply here if you know of a game in need of players or are looking to start a campaign. Looking for something more long term so overall player mesh is important to me.
2nd UPDATE: oct 18 Thanks to everyone who showed interest. We've got a full group for now.
UPDATE: we've had way more people inquire about this than what I can realistically invite into the group. No invites have been sent out yet, as we're talking to many people to see who would be a good fit. Just wanted to avoid disappointing anyone who came later.
Yep, you read that right. The title said players, not group.
Here's the deal, a few of us North Austin people have decided to start a group so we're looking for a few more people. The plan is to play Pathfinder 2E, Abomination Vaults campaign.
When: Weekly, Wednesdays at 7:30pm. Sessions will last about 2 hours.
Where: Parmer/metric area primarily. If we end up rotating locations some, one of our alternatives in in Hutto.
I'm relatively inexperienced since the majority of my DM experience was with AD&D back in the 90s, and I have only really gotten back into TTRPGs within the past 2 years. But if your willing to put up with an inexperienced GM, and play pathfinder 2e, we may have a spot for you in the group.
And if you've never played pathfinder 2e before... also cool. The other players so far range from no experience to not much so we'll learn and make some mistakes together.
Hello all!!
I am a role player with 3+ years playing in 2e Pathfinder, 5e D&D, and various d6/d4/d100 systems. In addition to that, I have professional experience working in production design, creative writing, marketing, and sales. Currently, I am playing with a group that I love in South Austin, I was very lucky to have found them via this subreddit, and love playing with them :-)
However, they have no interest in playing in a more public, tailored, and produced capacity. While I don't have enough experience as a DM to feel confident doing so in a public capacity - I could definitely handle the pre and post-production of the podcast. I think a fun way to corner this market, and one that is starting to become more popular in other actual plays, is to do systems that aren't 2e or 5e.
If you are interested to see where this idea could go, especially if you are a DM who wants to break into professional DMing, please respond or message me directly!!!
Thank you for reading :-)
Howdy y'all! I'm looking for a group to play either D&D 5E or Pathfinder 2E. I've played 5E extensively, but havent played PF before, though I've wanted to try it as of late. I need a queer friendly group (I am trans and a lesbian), meeting in Round Rock/Cedar Park/Georgetown/Pflugerville/North Austin. If there are any groups looking for players, please don't hesitate to reach out!
