Starting a file name with `=`

I have seen the developer of `kitty` use template files such as `=template.py` `https://github.com/kovidgoyal/rapydscript-ng/blob/master/%3Dtemplate.pyj

I cannot find anybody else doing this ; anyone having a guess ?

android dev looking {one year professional exp} to switch stack.

As from the title, I wana not do android anymore. Idk it seems kinda mundane after a while. I had fun with it at the start, it looked pretty neat but now I think I'll punch my screen if I have to wait for another 5-7 min grade Build time.

What else can I do so I don't lose the stream of nice money that I get from my job but also wana look at other options.

I had the idea for a Chrome extension that allows you to externally vote on YouTube videos, how would I start implementing this idea?

I only have slight knowledge in java/c#/python, but I learn quickly, I think this idea would really be helpful

Push Notification Authentication

New at reddit, please be nice haha

Does anyone know or can point me to a direction where I can do push notification authentication?

Like how I enter a site, awaits authentication, I get a notification on my phone and I allow it and I’m in the site.

Similar to how hotmail, you can login using the Authenticator app. I am aware of 2 factor authentication but I wanna make my own for my own server :)

Advice about how to build an application.

I'm trying to build a web site that will illustrate some math concepts, and one of the things I want it to do is randomly generate a math problem and show how to solve that problem. I very, very much don't want to have to write that in JavaScript and would rather attempt it in Python. However, that means I need some way for a user to click "Load a random problem", the Python script fires out a new one and generates a solution, and hands that off to the website somehow. I'm wondering what the best "somehow" is. Can a JavaScript file somehow call a Python file to execute? Note that I'm writing the HTML and JavaScript for the site from scratch so I'm not using any frameworks--I've played with them and most of them require a lot of work to make the web page do things I'm not interested in like responsive design and managing users. If Django or something like that is the best way to go, I'll live with it, but it'd be nice if there were a solution that requires less time studying something that I don't intrinsically care about.

Starting a video channel with multiple live streamers

I have this idea of having a 24hr live stream, in which I could queue videos in a play list 24/7, but then also allow live streamers to take over the stream now and then with OBS. This would all be music videos/art video. My thought was I would like to take submitted video files but also have playlists from youtube/vimeo. Ultimately I would like to do it without having to run my own server over my consumer internet service, and maybe have a VM on AWS or something similar.

I thought about twitch, which would be cool for the streaming aspect but maybe not as good for the playlist and control part of it.

Not sure if this is the right place for this - I have little experience with webdev besides some very basic python bottle stuff. Seeking the right tools/services to make something like this a reality. Any help would be appreciated!

How to create a personal foobar2000 web page indexed off my digital music collection

How would I go about getting the functionality of foobar2000 on a web interface? I have a digital music collection of over 2TB and use foobar2000 to index and play it at home and generate playlists for my radio show. How would I go about making it so that I could stream that kind of content, selecting from the index and playing back remotely?

Can a web site be given unrestricted access to my machine?

web apps are restricted on what they can do on the client machine for security reasons. e.g. web app can't directly print to the printer ,or use a scanner or for example communicate with embedded devices of various sorts..... etc but suppose i want to develop a web app for my company ( to be accessed from intranet only) because this is my company i have admin access on all client machines. can i allow my own web app high access to my machine (sort of things mentioned above) by installing /configuring certain technologies ? edit: what i have in my mind right now is that maybe i can use a browsed plugin to recognize something in the page and respond to it ?

Might as well be the first, New to CMS.

Hi, i'm pretty new to whole creating websites thing, however I've created a nice little website for my uncle but now i'm trying to find a way for him to easily be able to update it.

The catch is that I need repeatable regions in truth, for one page where he can easily add a article.

I've seen Perch etc, tried CushyCMS but you have to have a pro account to get repeatable regions for that :/

So my question is, is there a secret free CMS which everyone adores

Thanks, Dave

Edit: Pagelime seems to be sufficient, thanks guys!
