i'm thinking arrma granite 4x4 brushed. can/should i run it on 2s LiPO's? can i upgrade to brushless if im still in the hobby in a few months or so?

edit: i can get a gorgon with battery/charger for 240 CAD or a granite 4x4 brushed for 300 CAD, but I would have to purchase a battery and charger for it. if theres any canadian folks that can help me out here i would appriciate it!

Hey all, have a max 10 g2 (140a?...the 4s capable one) in my vorteks. Was running it tonight and it just quit. So I was thinking it was overheated no big deal. Waited 10 minutes and it didn't come back. Powered off, back on...nothing. just steering working, no startup beeps. Pulled the battery and tried another. Same thing, servo works but no startup beeps and no throttle. Noticed the esc fan wasn't spinning as well. Must have happened while on this run. Anyone ran into this before? Is my esc dead? Btw both motor and esc are sensored and it's plugged in.

Just bought myself my first rc today ( arrma granite grom) I'm having a blast drifting in the snow and was looking for fun for different tire this summer

Since I'm really all New to this , where do you guys buy your part ? Is there a site (preferably canada) that I can filter for my model to be sure it would be a direct fit ?

I don't want to mod it right now but I know once I'll start it will be hard to stop. But I just want see what there is on the market.

My kid got an Arrma Fury for Christmas and today, after many successful trips out, when he tries to turn it on nothing is functional. When I turn the car on, it blinks red followed by 3 quick blue lights on the ESC. Th controller stays solid red but nothing, including the steering or throttle is responsive. I believe the manual states it’s a low voltage protection setting and it cuts off the power. We haven’t made any changes to the power so I’m not sure what’s writ ?

The battery is a 3S 5000mAh G2 Lipo and used in a smart charger. The controller and car are fully charged.

Anything I can do to help get it going again?

I’m thinking of grabbing myself a 223S Vorteks and a Typhon but would likely want to swap out the ESC, pop in a receiver and maybe change the motor (might not be necessary).

I’d probably be looking to swap out the ESC for a Hobbywing Quicrun BL120 or Ezrun Max10. Receiver wise, I would probably go Flysky BS6.

I recognise the 223S platform is fairly new, but has anyone had a go at changing out the electronics? If so, what advice might you have?

I have a Typhon Grom BLX and my son has a Vorteks 2wd, both using the SLT2 controllers.

This morning I couldn’t get my Typhon controller to work with my car, we later discovered that my son’s controller is now linked to both cars somehow!

If we switch both cars on and his control, it will control both the Typhon and the Vorteks at the same time. And my controller doesn’t seem to be connected to anything!

Does anyone know how we can rectify this so we can get out with the cars together, it’s giving me a headache.

Title mostly. Went to look up the 6S exb and couldn’t find it with their search tool. Google search took me to the page where it now lists it as discontinued. Anyone else notice this? I’ve been saving up for one so I hope a new version is coming out and not that it’s being discontinued.

I have a few batteries on hand that would work great in these rigs but my entire fleet is xt60. I know I could just cut the ic2 connector off but would like to keep the warranty in line. Anyone have a lead on an adapter?

I have a Big Rock 3s .... and I think I killed it. Essentially on my birthday I went out bashing with a bunch of buddies. This included some puddles, didnt stay standing in water but certainly ran through it a few times. Car behaved normally afterwards and the rest of the next day. After the first day I blew out the entire car with compressed air and I thought it was dry and running well after day 2.

Cut to today where I hadnt taken it out in a few weeks and now Its behaving odd under throttle, and appearing to cut out. Take it apart in the workshop.

- All differentials spin freely as expected.

- Everything seems in good condition except the motor.

The motor is "chugging" under throttle and cuts out under heavy throttle.

I have disassembled and cleaned the motor and it still turns somewhat odd. I havent messed around with enough RC motors but it does not spin freely.

and now the ESC is behaving odd as well. I attempted a reset and the youtube tricks online for "hard resetting" however the ESC still doesnt seem to have the correct "beeps & lights" where it should according to the manual making me believe it could also possibly be the ESC.

So now my Questions ...

- Any thoughts on further troubleshooting? I have a new motor (same as stock) on its way

- If it is the ESC I am leaning BLX120 (vs the BLX100 stock) to add some more furture capability. Is this a stupid rookie choice? I would like to keep the original transmitter/receiver to help cut some of the cost down. but Id be open to change if going blx120 is stupid lol.

- What motors can I pair with the blx120 that would give me similar performance to the stock big rock on 3s? I was quite happy with the performance on 3s and would like to keep it running that way before moving to 4s eventually.

Got my Mojave Grom over Christmas and just took it for a spin, little bump and now the steering servo doesnt look as if it’s attached to the steering rack anymore.. please see attached photo (can’t add a video because the subreddit doesn’t allow it)

But the servo works when directed too, and the DSC works, but it’s just not linked to the front anymore, anyone know why or can suggest a fix? Il go through Arrma as it’s only a couple of uses old.

Aren’t all these cups supposed to have a lip for the o rings to sit in? I bought a set of RamJam diff cups a while back, finally did a rebuild with them. Noticed my diffs kept leaking around the o-rings. I noticed the RamJam cups have absolutely no lip on the shaft for where the o rings sit. Here’s a picture compared to M2C cups and both stock arrma cups.

Bought my son a Fury for Christmas. Had a blast, burned up the motor. I ordered a couple more $15 brushed 550s to use in the meantime but we're headed straight for a brushless upgrade in the near future. Will probably keep it to 2S for a while, though.

I'm trying to decide between the Hobbywing 3660 motor + ESC combo versus the Spektrum Firma 85a Smart ESC + 4000kv motor combo.

Any other better options?

I was just wondering if arrma is going to release a new gorgon as on their website they have lots for the gorgon in different colours, such as orange, purple, and also other versions of green and red. Does this mean they will release new gorgon colours? Or is a brushless version on the way?
