I live in one of the dorms on west side. Fire alarm went off and during the HOUR that I had to be outside, there were apparently room inspections. I’ve heard that we’re going to receive emails about what violations we have in our rooms here shortly.

According to article 6 section 2A of our housing contract, we are supposed to be notified at least 48 hours in advance of any room inspections. What’s the deal with this? I feel like if there were inspections without telling us, it feels like a total invasion of privacy. How does everyone else feel about this?

Can anyone living at The Village of Meadowview comment on the internet? They say its force bundled in and they don't let you bring your own router, or run a wired connection, but part of me wonders if this was just misinformation. I was hoping someone living there could answer a few questions i had about the internet.

This has been a problem for a while but it hasn't really bothered me until today. I tried to log into ASUlearn on my laptop and it randomly decided to make me do the text passcode verification. Obviously I can't do that because I can't receive any texts here for some reason. It's really annoying because I have a lot of free time right now where I had intended to get some work done but now I can't because I can't get into ASUlearn because of the dumb text verification. Does anyone know if there's a fix for this?

Have a friend visiting from a different school, wondering if anyone knows if the hawksbill game room on the student union would let me bring them.

I came to App State with the intention of utilizing their study abroad program, specifically going to Japan as soon as I can. The ideal program I've chosen for myself lists these requirements.

I'm unsure if I have to pass or exceed in Japanese in order to go. Do I need to take a Japanese language class here? What can I expect to do before the 2026 spring term?

I’m working on my application to App State and they want to know which campus I plan on attending if I commit. What are the differences between the Boone and Hickory campuses?

Housing, dining, what’s around them, etc. I plan on majoring in marketing and minoring in Japanese. I also plan on doing marching band. Is one campus better than the other for these?

Hi! I’ve heard from some people that you can park at the lowe’s foods/movie theatre parking lot and not get towed overnight, does anyone know if this is true?

I am in the process of transferring to App State Online from another online university that wasn’t a good fit for me. It was more competency based and I came to realize a brick and mortar program with regular set semesters and number of classes and etc is a better fit for me. Having deadlines and assignments leading up to a final exam/paper at the end of the semester is more my speed and fitting for me instead of “here’s all the coursework for the class, learn it whenever you can and if you know it already, take the exam and if you pass… boom, you’re good. Onto the next class” haha.

I’ve tried to research how App State Online works and can’t really find anything informative. Are their like strict schedules? Like zoom classes and times we need to be online or is it more flexible and professors just pre-recording lectures or how is it? How is the online platform? I guess I just wanna know if this will be the right thing for me. App State is a good school, it’s local to me and now we have a campus in Hickory where I live so I could always go on campus for studying and etc whenever I’m not working (I have a full time job). Any fully online students or just students who’ve taken classes online offering insight would be so helpful! Thanks guys 🙂

Hey guys so i was looking at what classes to register for the spring semester and two of the classes i want to take are only offered either fully online or hybrid. I have an online class rn and i’m considering dropping it because i just hate the online structure, i don’t feel like im actually learning the content, the professor hasn’t graded anything for it, etc. Overall, I don’t learn well in a fully online class. I don’t want to wait until next year to take these classes so what are Hybrid classes like at app? are they online heavy? more in person than online? please let me know
