Help with changing FaceBook to a publisher

Facebook has me restricted from posting in groups with no explanation. I have always been mindful of what I put on here avoiding inflammatory or violent, graphic, etc posts and have always tried to be respectful of others opinions and they still shut me down. If it happened to me it can happen to you....What do you do when you are old & retired and want to participant in your animal groups? You make it your mission to have Congress remove their protections as an open platform and have them changed to a publisher. If they are deciding what they want or will allow that is fine but they should not be considered an open platform and should not be protected as such.

Being Censored on Halo Waypoint

I was recently banned for a day and silenced on the forums of General Discussion on HaloWaypoint for speaking out against removing the Police Sirens nameplate earned from exposing a corrupt cop in ODST's Campaign with a BLM nameplate instead bringing political/social movements to the table. I was to say the least very unhappy about this and want to expose how corrupt media is anymore.

Cyberstalking research project

Feel free to remove if not allowed

I'm currently looking for participants for my research project as a part of my masters degree in cyberpsychology, the study looks at the relationship between personality traits and cyberstalking perpetration and the different kinds of victims that could be involved.

The survey is completely anonymous and there will be no way that anyone participating could be identified by the answers given. The survey only takes 10 minutes to complete and would greatly help me in completing my studies.

Thanks for your time

Anyone want to give their opinion about social media and get money?

Right now I'm giving away a total of $50 on my website for free. All you have to do is enter your email and tell us how you feel about social media in a good comment (the rules are on the website). My goal is a social media platform where freedom of speech and authenticity are more valued than being fake and looking for clout. Hope to see y'all there ====> https://sympocia.com

Can I just point out how ironic it is that this subreddit exists, given that reddit is a social media app

Negative effects of social media and social media advertising - University Project

Hi everyone, I've created this collage for my University project about the negative effects of social media and social media advertising. Some of the negative effects I found while researching were quite daunting, like the suicide cases due to bullying. It's happening everywhere around the world and it is really scary. What do you guys think? Would appreciate some feedback. Thank you.

Feedback on "friendly" social media idea?

Hi all-

A month ago you guys gave me great feedback on how we could think about making a less competitive / more collaborative and fun cooperative type of social media. Thanks for the feedback.

We now have a first prototype of it and would love your thoughts on the web/mobile "social media" widget we've made where users can collaborate on building "GIF stories." Basically you write a couple sentences (max 500 char) with a GIF, post it, and then people can slowly build on your story (or you can just build on your own story). The hypothesis was people might like the fun adventure of telling stories with other people or even on their own and then sharing them. The point was to find a type of social media that could be less "competitive" and more "cooperative" where people do things WITH eachother vs. show themselves off all day

This is of course very barebones at this point but our top questions for you:

  1. Do you "get it"? What do you think could be the appeal?
  2. Which type of customer / use case do you think could be the best initial fit? (e.g., is it more for memers to make short stupid stories together, or is it more for storywriters to write long stories over many blocks by themselves)

Thanks for any thoughts!

Have 5 min. to give quick feedback on a social media concept?

Hi there-

Recently had a great discussion on this subreddit on social media concepts:, thanks again for those who participated: https://www.reddit.com/r/antisocialmedia/comments/ebihlk/what_would_you_make_in_a_new_social_network/

Was messing around with a friend and wanted to get your thoughts on "healthier" social interaction website idea we had. The idea is a social game that encourages collaboratively telling stories in a "multiplayer way." The point would be to reduce the burden on each individual to write a whole story -- and instead each person takes turns writing one sentence at a time. The hope is that it could be a space for some fun, creative socializing.

The website is: http://storychain.mike.gg/ and hopefully it's clear enough how it works (or else click "what is this" on the left to learn more).

Would love any feedback using the feedback form on the left of the website or else directly on here (e.g., feedback around whether this could be "healthier" socializing online). Thank you!

What would you make in a new social network?

Hi guys-

I completely resonate with social media in its current form being a detriment. My biggest problem is the psychological impact it has on users (especially children).

But I don't believe that social interconnectivity through technology inherently is bad. What would you have to change for it to be viable system? I'm curious about designing a new social platform and would love any tips as I set out to imagine this.

An example change could be -- non-intrinsically competitive posting (e.g., no likes), no advertisements (and thus perverse incentives to use clickbait). Any other ideas?

FINALLY BROKE FREE!!!

So I have been saying I was going to do it for a while but was just putting it off for the longest, I deleted all my social media apps (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter) I just deleted them all at once (lol crazy sounds like I’m talking about a drug haha) but it’s a freeing feeling, I’ve replaced my time with reading anything and everything honestly. But could use some real world friends now lol I’m gonna start going out more and doing more social activities. Real stoked I could find this group and hope to connect with some good folk!

Confessions Of An Ex-Insta Addict

I am an internet whore. What can I say? I love the internet. I am proud of that, now; it hasn’t always been something to be proud of. It can be dangerous to give your self to the internet when you haven’t taken inventory of what you have to give.

That is exactly what I did when I was younger. I gave and I gave, hoping to feel less empty by ‘connecting’ as we called it via facebook, instagram, twitter, eventually snapchat; we can even take it back to myspace days.

Twitter was the first to go. Long story short, in high school I tolled trolls. Although at the time we simply called it what it is, cyber bullying. This trolling, to be fair she was mean, left the big bad wolf crying. Having being bullied myself in middle school, I felt as if a mirror was shown of me becoming what I despised. Delete.

Facebook was the easiest. With over 4000 strangers to call friends, opening the site was an eye sore of information overload, to say the least. They also make it the hardest to delete and give the most options to avoid deleting, including making a downloadable version of your profile for only you and facebook to see. No thanks. Delete.

Instagram was the hardest to let go of. I stopped obsessively posting in 2015 but it would take another 3 years to delete the profile along with the app. I became disassociated with reality and linked my self-worth with my follower and like count; when in reality, I didn’t like myself, or the people in my picture perfect photographs. Delete.

Snapchat was the last to go. I didn’t use it socially so I convinced myself that there was no harm subscribing to a few newsletters like National Geographic and Pod Save America. The problem there is the easy endless scrolling that shows bigger than your subscriptions; full of click-bate dragging celebs through the mud. Then the “work” use came in and things got messy. Delete.

Post social media I feel like I have more time for me and my creativity. I spend my time on things that help me grow. I no longer fear the internet or growing an addiction to it. I’m an internet whore, I love the shit. I just watch where I get my doses.

VSCO allows me to take photos and transform them into the way my brain sees the world. It gives me a platform to share ideas, thoughts, opinions, without having to hear 10 others back in return. Keep.

Pinterest allows me to encourage habits by filing my stimuli with self care, self love, vegan food, art, and culture. It allows me to share positivity and watch it spread with each repin. Keep.

Apple Music is a new one for me. I had no clue they had profiles and great ways to share playlists. It gives me the chance to bare my soul beyond stereotypical selfies I was so known for back in the day. Music is my soul. To know my musical selections is to know me. That is if you’re still enough to feel, and not just listen. Keep.

Don’t get me wrong, deleting is no easy feat. I tried a few times through out history to relight my social media fame in order to hold onto friendships and stay in the loop. I eventually learned that a loop that requires a platform is not one I want to be apart of.

Keep things near and dear that make you grow. Take account of where you give your time and attention, then ask how is it benefiting you. If it doesn’t help you grow, it’s time to let it go and make room for new things.
