As someone who has been drawing and designing characters for as long as I can remember (my entire life), this topic bothers me a lot. Supposedly people hate only sexualized anthropomorphic animals, but I've seen a lot of people hate ANY anthropomorphic drawing or depiction for the simple fact that it is anthropomorphic. If you search for a tutorial on how to draw anthropomorphic animals in the comments you'll see people disappointed because "my favorite artist is drawing furries, I lost an idol." The video is simply teaching you how to draw certain animal-based character designs, nothing more, it's not telling you to draw porn or anything. It's just drawing a fox standing on two legs with thumbs and nothing else. Are people that sick that they see sex where there isn't any? That kind of attitude makes my blood boil and has kept me from wanting to make a comic based on that concept for years out of fear of what people will say.
It really pisses me off that people associate the concept of anthropomorphism with porn. I grew up watching 80s and 90s cartoons with anthropomorphic animals and reading fables and children's stories with illustrations of anthropomorphic animals. To me, giving an animal human characteristics is like giving eyes and a mouth to an inanimate object or drawing a fictional creature like mermaids, centaurs, dragons and aliens. It's called creativity, something that many people lack.
If drawing animals with human anatomy is "sexualizing" them, then by that logic, drawing child characters in their adult version is "sexualizing" them just by giving them adult anatomy. Seriously, people are crazy.
Latest drawing I did. Just a bear guy enjoying some underwear. Tagging nsfw, just to be on the safe side. I have a saucy version up on my FA.
