I have a high relationship points with her but i still can't trade with her. Why is that?
From what I can tell they have quiet good exchange rate for worker-tier consumables (1:9 for sausages and soap). So far I've been focusing on exporting beer, however it has much lower ratios and require significant work force to keep enough overproduction to sustain both population and export contracts. Windows on the other hand are just kept being produced endlessly and apart from few construction projects here and there they are just sitting there with no purpose and accumulate over time. Considering the fact that window chain doesn't lower attractiveness (and apparently also generate no pollution), it makes them fat more appealing than for example steel bars.
Hi!! So recently (6 months or so) ive had trouble playing anno 1800, each time it lafs so so much thats its difficult to play, normally id blame it on my graphics card but i have 140 hours on this game, it shouldnt matter, so im confused
My question is how do i fix it?
Attempting to use quays as a sort of ocean wall (placed them by putting a harbor masters office, building, then destroying the harbor)
Would this actually stop enemy ships from coming in?
Also, the gap in there since Anno wont let you cover complete access to a beach
Hey! I'm not a new player, I have around 100h played, but I still haven't figured it out, how I sometimes look at my items in storage, and find, for example, 67 of champagne, or 34 of tobacco. Like I never bought these items, and I didn't produce them. Is it like gifts from AI?

I love city builders since I started this year but never played an Anno game before. I want to buy anno 1800 but determined I should feel bad if I don’t get the year 5 gold edition cause then it will be way pricier buying getting the monstrous amount of DLC later. My biggest concern though is I don’t know how it works.
All these DLCs will bring in new stuff for my first campaign play through? Is that a good thing I should have since I’m new and don’t even know what’s from the DLC? Or maybe there will be too much stuff cause of the DLC?
Are all the DLC separate where I gotta start a new game for each on a new map or only found on sandbox mode?
Idk this dlc shit Is confusing cause there’s a lot. Appreciate an answer to even only one of my questions or maybe I should buy the original edition and oh well it
I play Anno 1404 on easy difficulty, as if it were a city-building simulator. And I have a question: how do you usually organize the delivery of resources for construction (stone, wood, tools, mosaic, glass)? I have three islands for the extraction of these resources, then these resources are brought to the main islands of Oriental and Occidental, where the population is located. From the main islands, I launch two large ships that go around all the other islands in turn and drop materials if necessary. In general, I am happy with how it works, but sometimes I get the feeling that I am using resources as inefficiently as possible. With large volumes of construction on different islands, the main island quickly runs out of materials. How do you manage the delivery of building materials?
Almost every single event I get during expeditions (be it New World, Enbesa and so on), I get events involving skills which weren't included in the preparation screen, which obviously leads to failure since my crew is unprepared for it and I lose a lot of potential rewards this way. What's up with that?
Hi everyone!
A group of around 8 friends and I are about to dive into a new Anno 1800 multiplayer world together, and we’re aiming for an unforgettable experience! We’re still deciding on the best DLCs and mods to use, and I wanted to see if the community has any recommendations for making this as fun and dynamic as possible.
For DLCs: We’re looking to make the gameplay deep and immersive but also want to keep things balanced in multiplayer. Which DLCs have you found the most exciting or essential for group play? I’ve heard that some DLCs really change the game flow, so we’d love to know which ones add the most to the multiplayer experience without overwhelming us!
For Mods: We’re open to trying out mods to enhance gameplay, add new features, or improve quality of life. Are there specific mods that work especially well in multiplayer? Stability and compatibility are important, so any advice on that front would also be super helpful.
If anyone has experience with a similar setup or just some general tips for managing a larger multiplayer group in Anno 1800, I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks in advance for any advice, and we can’t wait to get started!
When I first bought Anno 1800 on steam I created a new Ubisoft account and bound the game key to it. After having fun with the game I decided to get the season passes while they were on sale. Without me knowing, ubisoft connect had automatically swapped my logged in account to one I had connected to my steam account from older games.
When I launched the game I bound the dlc to the other account without knowing which somehow locked both accounts out of playing the game, as one owns the base game with no dlc and the other one owns the season passes without owning the base game.
I've contacted support but haven't heard anything back yet. I was just wondering if anyone else had any success with getting the keys swapped over as I currently can't play the game at all despite owning the base game and all of it's dlc on steam.
Thanks for any help
Just got the game (Anno 1800) and started the campaign.
After the short intro I had a cut scene and then it brought me to this small island and now I just see this blue screen.
I can interact with the menus on the left but am not sure what we're supposed to do with this now? Am I looking at the ocean?
I've got around 110 hours in Anno 1800 (own all DLCs) and am currently on my third playthrough. I’ve reached Investors in the Old World, Artistas in the New World, nearly completed the Passage storyline, and finished Land of Lions. But, despite hearing about the power of Trade Unions, I just can’t find the motivation to use them.
For me, it feels easier to build without them—all factories near power plants, farms near fuel for tractors—which already gives high production output. With Investors, I finally have more influence, but before that, I preferred using it for trade, expansion, culture, and military rather than optimization. I didn’t feel like I was missing out without Trade Unions.
The constant search for specialists and items feels exhausting. Researching them is better but takes significant time, so my inventory usually just has random items, which make for mediocre Trade Unions (or Town Halls and Harbourmasters). Even if I managed to get legendary items, I’m not sure I’d want to change my optimized layout to fit them in.
I’m posting to see if anyone can help me find the motivation for Trade Unions. I know optimization buildings are powerful, but I feel like I’m missing something essential here. Any insights would be appreciated—thanks!
I posted this on r/anno1800 but decided I might get more hits here, sorry if help post aren't allowed :(
So I am *relatively* new to the game. Recently got my first engineers and powered my first power plant to build some oil tankers. Horray, yahoo, good times. There was no real disruptions aside from the rum occasionally running dry. All of a sudden, my income goes from +4,000, to -3,000. So I'm like "Oh shit! I bet I ran out of a good or something idk" and I check the needs of all my islands. All are filled and none are fully depleted. Hell, we even still had the rum. But this just confused me more! I didn't build any new buildings or ships. All my citizens are relatively happy. How do I fix this? Why are some of my usually profitable islands now in the red? I would love some help for all of this, if you need details just ask I guess.
I have all types and noticed that fringe residents are happy with just 1 store type near them.
I stumbled onto Anno 1800 and just started playing with my son. (About a week now).
What are your best tips for new players ? (I’m playing multiplayer CoOp with him on console).
I’ve somewhat worked out recently, super important not to let resident run out of need items — went from like +14k to -9k cash….
Also important to get new world running with old world or it hurts you later in the game.
What other are your best tips ?
Have they announced what the next cosmetic DLC will be?
Since ubisoft is currently plummeting into the ground, and the possibility it may go bankrupt soon being on the horizon, what is the future for anno? My dream is that the series will have its rights being taken over by a successor company to keep it going, but idk if that in the cards or not. 1800 is possibly my most treasured game outside of disco elysium and HOI4 so I hope it isn't shot in the head with ubisofts death.
Edit title: Will Anno be able to survive Ubisoft's fall?
Ive been using the in game mod browser for my mods however there are some mods that I want to use that are only found in nexus. Can I use both at the sametime? Thanks
