Gifs for Anime
For all Animated Gifs that include Anime.
Rules for r/animegifs:
1. Anime Gifs Only: - Submissions must adhere to the distinctive Japanese animation style. Content with a different animation style is not permitted. Read here
2. Gif Format Standards: - Avoid submitting GIFs that are better suited as videos. Incredibly long GIFs or content much better suited to video formats (e.g., GIFS longer than 20s, Audio), will be removed. The duration must be twenty seconds or less.
3. Quality Over Quantity: - Each user is allowed a maximum of five posts within a 24-hour period. Ensure that submitted GIFs meet a standard of visual clarity and quality. Low-resolution or heavily compressed GIFs may be subject to removal. Aim for GIFs that maintain a clear and enjoyable viewing experience for the community.
4. Mark Spoilers: - When sharing content that includes significant plot details from anime, mark it as a spoiler. For ongoing anime, maintain a 1-week gap after the episode's release before sharing spoilers. Avoid including spoilers in post titles. Use spoiler tags to hide sensitive information and provide a warning. To mark spoilers in comments, use >! before and after the spoiler text without any spaces. For example: Spoiler Text. This ensures a spoiler-free experience for those not caught up.
5. No Watermarks: - Posts featuring GIFs with watermarks will be subject to removal. However, it's important to note that watermarks on artist or fan-made works are allowed and acceptable.
6. Source: - Provide the source or title of the anime in the post title, use post flair, or mention it in the comments when possible. If the GIF is fan-made, credit the artist by mentioning their name or providing a link to their work in the comments. If you're uncertain about the anime name, it's acceptable to indicate this in your post. However, making an effort to provide any available information is encouraged to enhance the community's experience.
7. NSFW: - NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content is restricted to the "Ecchi" category. Ensure explicit or suggestive material falls within Ecchi boundaries. Mark such posts as NSFW. In the context of "Ecchi," content with suggestive themes without explicit nudity is allowed.
8. Memes: - Meme GIFs are only allowed on weekends.

9. Reposts: - Avoid reposting content from the top 30 posts of all time or any post that has received 4,000 or more upvotes. Refrain from reposting content within a 2-month period. Duplicate submissions may be subject to removal.
10. Be Respectful: - Treat fellow community members with respect and courtesy. Avoid offensive language, personal attacks, or harassment. Disagreements are natural, but maintain a constructive tone in discussions.
11. No Meta Bait: - No meta baiting, including, but not limited to, karma begging, pandering to lurkers, and complaining about a post removal or ban.
12. Post Title Standards: - Avoid generic, uninformative, or otherwise uncreative post titles.
13. Spam and Excessive Advertising: - Spam, excessive advertising, or self-promotion is prohibited.
If you're the original creator of a GIF, linking to your original GIF on an external site is allowed.
14. No Politics: - Refrain from posting content, comments, or engaging in arguments about current politics.
15. Follow Reddit's TOS: - Adhere to Reddit's Terms of Service.
