Hello, I found what I think is a gray tree frog inside (hitched a ride on my houseplants that I had outside the whole summer). I had a question about what I should do? Ideally, I'd love to set him free. I'm located in central Wisconsin, near Wausau, for reference. It's been cooler out but supposed to be 62 on Monday...could I set him free in a tree? Or is that a death sentence? Does he need to be kept inside until spring? I'd prefer to not interfer if he's capable. Thanks so much for any info you could provide!
The thing was..... huge.
I've done research about both and it seems like they live in pretty similar conditions, exept for 1 thing: chameleon gecko is nocturnal and dart frogs are diurnal. I haven't heard anything about these two spiecies together. What do you think? btw it's a 18x18x24(31gallons)
Just entertaining myself scrolling around and looking up images of the many creatures I am wanting to add to my family, I came across this little guy! At first I was wondering what shit on its head. 🤣 The more I looked at it, it started looking like a WTF version of Trump... in both versions of the acronym that I'm currently aware of. NOTE: I never make any public political stands, so this is not a slam on Trump or any other kind of statement. Just that the likeness, IMO, made me giggle, so I thought I'd share in case anyone else needs a mood lift.
My tiger has been an adult since around march and i have yet to see his brumation habits. I live in NJ so the temperature has dropped. I have my tiger set up in 36x18x12 bioactive natural tank with about 4 inches of diggable substrate mix, hides, and bark to hide underneath so he often likes to dig and hide himself for extended periods of time. The longest i would go without seeing him before was around a week and a half. I haven’t seen him since around the start of the month. the last time i saw him he looked healthy, was active, and ate a decent sized meal. Should i try to dig and look for him or should i not expect to see him until the season changes. Any insight would be appreciated.
Well, the nursery keeps getting bigger! Count is 38 so far, about another 20+/- tadpoles to go. I never imagined having such a large pool of tree frogs. It’ll b a busy spring out here.
What kind of frog is this? 😨 other than obvs just a lil guy
Shropshire, UK. House recently flooded and found this tiny guy in my kitchen this evening. For size reference this is a Gü ramekin he’s sat in.
Hi all. I have a bioactive tank for my salamander, and I’m considering making my frog tank bioactive as well. Their care is pretty similar, the only huge difference is the frogs humidity maintenance is much higher. My issue is that when I do my deep cleans every 1-2 months, even with drainage layers the bottom of the tank is a pool of water essentially. How can I maintain a bioactive setup while also making sure there isn’t a ton of water at the bottom? Can I take some of the soil from my salamander tank and put it in the frog tank to give the tank a cleanup crew, or is there concern for the soil getting the frogs sick?
I have 2 american green tree frogs 1 male 1 female my female is always a beautiful light green my male is usually brownish, is he tryna camouflage with the decor or is he stressed? My tank is a 12x12x24 paludarium with shrimp in the water section and the temperature is usually 25 degrees Celsius and humidity is 60 to 80 depending on time of day and season, any info would be greatly appreciated
Hey! I just found a blue spotted salamander stuck in my pool and want to keep him as a pet. I am planning him giving him a friend if another falls into my pool and am wondering the basic nessesities neeed for it. I think I can just use soil/substrate from outside my house as it is his native environment anyways. I am wondering what I need to feed him and what his habitat setup should look like. I am also wondering his age. He is currently 4.5 inches long. Thanks!
