Hello everyone, me and my partner are travelling through Europe and we will be spending two days in Marseille.
We would like to climb in La Bretagne and La Treille areas and we are looking for topology books/climbing guide books.
If anyone knows where we could get them or if anyone is willing to borrow us topo for a day or two, or send some photos, that would be great.
Thanks in advance ;) 🤙

Not sure if this is allowed to be posted or not...I spent 7 weeks in your city and ended up making a full album (90s style techno if you will) and the entire album came to life/was inspired by your amazing city, so much that I titled the album, Seulement à Marseille and all of the tracks on the albums were from places and events in your city.
Background: live and work in music in Berlin and upon meeting a tattoo artist from Marseille in the basement of a factory for an underground art event, he mentioned he was from Marseille and how he loved the city. Needing a bit of a change from Berlin I came to Marseille for what I thought was going to be a week or 2 and to explore your city's music scene....fast forward to 7 weeks later and entire full LP, Marseille is such an incredible city.
I had heard Marseille had a bit of a reputation and some crime related things, but I never experienced any of that in my entire time I was there. Never once did I feel unsafe or in any dangerous situations.
The thing that struck me the most about your city were the people. So many different types of people and a lot of them were so damn friendly. It was really great meeting people who were born in Marseille, or from other parts of France, or even Algeria and Morocco, and how it all melted together. I met some really fantastic people and made some amazing friendships. I also do not speak french, but during my time there I felt that I should try and learn a bit (how to order food, coffee, say how are you etc) and everyone was super encouraging and helpful.
Your music scene, although on the smaller side in terms of quantity, was really fantastic. I spent many nights at L'Intermédiaire which is such a great venue. I love that every night is a different style of music and the open mic nights for jazz had some of the best musicians I have ever seen.
Coming from Berlin, I was also impressed by one of your techno collectives, Metaphore. They put on some really great events and are doing a great job trying to create a scene in Marseille.
Most of the album I actually mixed and rewrote at Le Champ De Mars. I know this can be a bit of a touristy spot sometimes on the weekends, but in the mornings, the staff were so friendly especially the owner Solomon, hopefully I spelled that correctly. It was always fun having their cafe cat, Januz come over and say hi as well.
You all have some great spots for sunrises and sunsets. Spent several nights up on the hill at the church watching the sunset, and that pizza place La Bonne Mere was fantastic(actually your city has a ridiculously strong pizza game which I was not expecting at all). In the mornings I would grab a croissant and head to the area around Le Maregraphe and just look out at the ocean or listen to the previous night's recordings.
Your city is absolutely amazing and I fell in love with it. Cheers from Berlin
Track titles from the album from the city - Vieux Port, Quartier de createurs, Noailles to nowhere, Metaphore, Le Champ de Mars, L'Intermediarie, Le Style Marseille, Refelxions.
I ended up writing a letter which was placed in the vinyl record, since most people dont speak french here in Berlin, I thought I would post a picture of it as you all can understand it.
Marseille bebe!
Merci d'avance !
Greetings,
I will attend a 2-3 months long course in Hopital nord de Marseille and was looking into accomodation options. Did some research and general consensus is to stay away from the north districts due to security reasons. It seems bus line 97 and 97JET are the options to "city center", hence I thought staying in 5-6-7 with a short walk to bus station will be more logical both in terms of security and being close to the city.
Does it make sense to plan my stay this way, will be glad if you can enlighten me. Cheers.
Does anyone know where I can get a good Raclette on a Tuesday for lunch?
Bonjour !
Merci !!
Hey, what is the best way to get from Aix to Marseille by public transport? I already read that there a quite a few (direct) busses connecting the city centers. Can you buy the tickets online/app? If so, does one have to validate the tickets somehow?
Or would be the train a better option?
Thanks! :)
Hey! Is anyone looking for the concert ticket of Amine (Babylon) https://www.instagram.com/aminebabyloneofficial?igsh=MWkxZXQ2b3drbzJ3bg==

Nouveau podcast génial.
Apparently, Marseille has become the city à la mode.
Hey there! My boyfriend and i are on our last day here in Marseille and wanted to go to a restaurant.
Do you guys have any nice reccommendations where we could, or even SHOULD go?
Thanks alot in adfrance! (Sorry. HAHA)
salut everyone, I'm going to France with my fiancé mostly to improve/learn French and spend some time abroad. we are 27f and 29m and will be looking for part-time jobs. we are self-employed remote workers, but our coin is very weak compared to euros and so we will need to earn extra income. my French is around B2 level, but he is at the beginning and speaks very little (he does speak C1 English tho). I'm an EU citizen and we have a PACS, so he will apply for a "carte de séjour en tant que membre de famille d'un Européen" when we arrive. we are still planning and have many questions, so I thought I'd ask here:
- is it realistic to find employment in Marseille in our situation? it doesn't have to be formal (although it would be great), so we're thinking nanny, delivery, waitress/waiter at bars, pet sitters, etc.
- are there any opportunities to share apartments? or how much would rent be for a furnished apartment outside of the city center?
- is Marseille friendly to foreigners? we're Brazilian and I've been to Marseille before, but only spent a week, so I don't really know much about the city
- is January/February bad months to arrive because of the weather, or could we find some appropriate not too expensive clothing once we get there? is the city "less" alive during winter?
INFO: I have a friend there who is prepared to house us for the first month, and we'll take enough money to get settled in, so we wouldn't be desperate or anything. we are also considering Toulouse and Lille as cities to move to. I'd love to go to the theater festival in Avignon in July, so that's an option too.
any tips/opinions/insights are most welcomed! merci d'avance!
I came to Marseille with zero knowledge or expectations, only planned to do some things the day before I reached the city. Upon research apparently it has a bad reputation. Some said it's Frances Napels, and having been to Napels and seen someone shot up with Heroin into the neck in broad daylight in the streets, I was woried. I come here and it's just a normal city. Maybe I just haven't seen the wrong parts of town, but I live in Seattle and Marseille is far less sketchy. Took a boat tour to If island and just, the views are really amazing.
Only have the rest of today left here, so if folks have any recommendations on must do's for things to see or eat, let me know!
I am travelling to Marseille with my vegetarian partner and would like to try Bouillabaisse.
Do you know any restaurants that serve good bouillabese for one?
My Partner and I are currently visting Marseille. And you can certainly feel that a lot of groups are active here. Does anyone know any good leftist Cafés, Projects etc. in Marseille? Thanks to all and merci bien :)
