Alright so my girlfriend put in mini braids to protect her hair, with no extra hair added, but after a few weeks it’s starting to frizz up, so she’s worried that the frizz is “breakage”. I don’t know if it is, but she’s convinced that it is, does anyone know or have any advice/experience, I’m so confused on this man.
What is the best way to repair breakage and grow a healthy fro?
Hi, I'm doing a project with my engineering friends. We are building a braiding device!
Could you help us complete this form? This should take about 5 minutes or less!
Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

I'm mixed, and I have, what I would describe, as "afro-textured" hair, it puffs out when it gets long, but I have no curl or coil pattern. When I wash my hair, it curls up, but no matter what I do, it just straightens itself out once it gets dry. I kinda wanted to get braids in the next year OR get dreads at some point and was wondering, does hair type matter that much??
I’ve been growing my fro out for about 2 and a half years. I have a consistent routine of daily conditioning and moisturizing, weekly washing, trimming about every two months, and every now and then I will braid it in cornrows when I want to take a break from daily care. I feel like I may have reached a peak for the length it will be - it has been about this length for several months now. What else do others do to stimulate continued growth? Should I change something in my routine?
I have seen some videos about afro care and they say stuff like you should was your afro like once a week.then what am I supposed to do in those other days, literally not wash the hair?. I’m getting started with the afro so I apologize if my questions sounds dumb but I wanna know
Hi! Vous allez tous bien 😊...ca vous dirais de parler un peu de vos routines capillaires, des gestes que vous adoptez ?

I’ve been growing my fro out for about 7 months now and I have way more shed than when I started. My hair gets dry really easy but today I bought a spray bottle and leave in so we’re gonna see how it goes. When playing with my hair sometimes I can feel little knots and when you pull on it breaks a piece of hair off. Or when I pick my hair there is ALWAYS HAIR lol.
Any tips for detangling and stuff?
Just wanted to chime in and say, I'm so happy to have found this sub. I was subscribed to "natural hair," but everything on there that gets 100+ upvotes is all about CURLY hair. It's basically the "red-headed" step-child of the r/Curlyhair subreddit.
Curls are cool. But, afros are too! And, I basically unsubbed and searched for an UNAPOLOGETICLY afro-positive community. If this is it, I'm happy to be here.
If you all have recommendations, for more afro positive places on reddit, I'd love to hear them!
Thank you.
