So I recently started to write songs and wanted to start recording and mixing them. I was looking at guitar center for hardware and found the Scarlett Solo, the guy told me it came with a free music software if i got it and that convinced me to.
So i bought it and started messing around with it; but i realized i was missing a bunch of features, specifically the Pedals and Amps.
So i start watching youtube videos to find them and thats when I realized I only got access to Ableton Live 12 “Lite” and not the actual version
Kinda sucks, I had thought I was getting the full access for buying the Scarlett but I guess not.
I was trying to record "The four horseman" from Metallica. I converted a backing track from a YouTube video and uploaded it to Ableton. It plays fine on a normal media player but on Ableton it weirdly lags for 1-2 min in the middle section. What can be the issue?
Am on Ableton 11 which I recently got for free. My Bluetooth headphones are actually my hearing aids and they are connected to my laptop absolutely fine but they do not show up as an available output device - see picture.
Any suggestions on how I can amend this? Thanks,,
Hey guys after last week tutorial on how to make Lost and Found by Chromeo, we dig deep into their catalog a go back to 2018 to one of our favorite songs "Juice" from their album "Head Over Heels", hope you enjoy this remake showing you all the sound design behind this amazing song.
I have a 5 channel surround sound set up I'd like to play around with. Does ableton include a way to mix for this (5 way panning?) or do I need some external plug in or additonal program?
Ty!
Hello
I recently upgraded to Ableton Live 12 and have noticed that Live will not register the signal from the individual inputs on my interface. I have a MacOS System and 2nd Generation Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, I have checked and my drivers are up to date and I have CoreAudio selected for my Driver Type.
Any help would be appreciatted I just wanna be able to play my basses again. :(
It was fine until I saved the set. When I came back to it this started happening
This is a support related thread on how I may be able to find drum and bass sample packs including the amen break to be set up on my drum pads in Ableton Live. The setup I am inspired by is SpinScott's 'Precision': https://youtu.be/DG5_gQZJPRg?si=cEmFKjd-tJtT_Zml (Jungle!)
Are there any packs online that would alow me to setup individual samples on my MIDI Pads? Thanks.
Hello does anyone have a Ableton standard/suite key laying around I could use? Thanks in advance :)
ALBETON MIC TROUBLE
I'm having trouble recording in Ableton with my mic through just my interface( focusrite). The way it's working right now is that It seems to pick up signal during the first few minutes of recording and later on it decreases volume and loses signal completely. And also I would record loud vocals and the wave forms look wayy too smaller than it should .Is there any solution to this? Is this because of bad mic cable? I'm using a focusrite Scarlett solo 3rd connected to my mac with the mic connected straight to the soundcard.
I mapped the envelope follower to the eq and the knob moves but I want it to actually show the frequency moving. I see it on everyone else’s ableton so I’m kinda confused on why mines isn’t moving
Hi I only bought Ableton 12 on Friday and I'm stuck on how to change the piano roll view so it displays 4 bars instead of the default of 1 bar. When I mess with the options, it just seems to change the beats per bar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm really enjoying all the new features in Live 12, but going through and tagging my entire sample library feels a bit like watching paint dry. It got me thinking: is there a way to update these tags from outside of Ableton, and if so, could you automate it?
As you can probably guess from the post title, the answer is yes :)
As a little weekend project, I made a tool called LiveTagger, which allows you to bulk update tags on multiple folders at once. I'm finding it really handy, and hopefully some people here will too!
Example
I bought NI Komplete last year, which comes with an absolute shedload of drum samples - however, they're spread across loads of deeply nested subfolders, alongside stuff like synth presets and Kontakt libraries, which makes tagging them all through Ableton a nightmare.
With LiveTagger, I can just do:
livetagger add "Drums|Kick" -i "C:/Native Instruments/*/Samples/Drums/**/Kick *.wav" --commit
And a couple of seconds later, all of my kicks are tagged!
Disclaimer
The obvious catch to this: this tool is not supported or endorsed by Ableton, and it relies on creating/modifying undocumented metadata files. There may be bugs, and future updates may completely break it. Use at your own risk!
I never used ableton before but i need to use it for university, can your recommend some youtube channels to start from 0? I only have experience with FL. Also if you have a link or page to download it TOTALLY legal...
Hey everyone! We're big fans of Chromeo, and when they released their latest album "Adult Contemporary," we were immediately inspired to make a tutorial of one of their new tracks, "Lost and Found." We've recreated all the synths in this song from scratch, Hope you like it.

Anyone with problems with tagging in Live 12? I also cannot add devices to collections. Or refresh and install packs from within the browser! So many bugs.
Hello! I have a 11 Suite license I am looking to sell. I am mainly recording directly to a mixer these days.
$500 OBO. Thanks.
Hi everyone, here's my problem: I make live music with several machines all connected via USB to my Mac to synchronize them with each other. I take sound using a sound card, I would like to be able to record all my machines track by track. However I have to press the space bar every time a machine goes out of sync if I want to stop my sequencer and when I restart the sequencer the machine does not sync on its own I am then forced to stop everything and restart ...And so I stop the record at the same time...
How to do ? THANKS
