Hey, What precautions do you take for your Abarths to protect it from the nasty road salt? I wash once a week and keep it indoors. Any other tricks you guys got up your sleeves?
and does all the airbags disable or just the airbags related to the seat? Is there a way to remove that light ?
I know it’s a guessing game but any ideas about likely residuals on the 500e turismo? I am hoping to get one through my limited company and have two options to consider.
Two year lease, 8000 miles pa, total lease cost over the two years after reclaiming half the VAT £8,700.
Buy new (pre-registered) from Fiat dealer £27k.
If I do option 2, I am wondering what the car would be worth after two years assuming I cover 16,000 miles. Do we think it’ll be worth more or less than £27,000 - £8,700 = £18,300.00?
The car has a list price of about £35k so I would guess it’ll lose over half that in 3 years so maybe after two years it’ll be worth £20k+?
Option 1 gives certainty and does not tie up so much cash. Any thoughts?
Hope you are well, guys! I have a quick question regarding automatic abarth. I bought 2015 abarth 500 for my wife with automatic gearbox and tbh she felt in love. However, recently she started complaining about the hp and I decided to remap on stage 1+.
Could you please advise what can I do for it?
Thank you guys!
So in my process to change up my car and slowly start to turn it into a track car continues. And today.. intercoolers.. I’ve done a bit of googling and looking around, most of the abarth specialists sell the Airtec FMIC, but if you eBay and have a look around, you can find some cheaper ones from other reputable name brands.
Has anyone got any thoughts on what to go with? Or has anyone had any problems with specific ones? I’m happy to go with the Airtec, just thought I’d check first.
Is it reasonable to buy parts for repair in Canada still? Or is it going to be insanely expensive to own a 2015ish Fiat 500 Abarth?
I am in love with the idea but concerned about long term ownership.
Good afternoon y'all, So I have an interesting problem. I have a 2015 FIAT 500 Abarth with 116,500 miles. I recently ran into an issue where the ESC Light came on along with Service Engine, Service Hill Holder, and it would lock me into Park. A shop tried to fix it by replacing a module or two, fixed a chafing wire, and swapped out a 5A fuse. 5 days later the fuse popped again with the car doing the exact same thing. Has anyone ran into this issue? Anyone have any ideas? I've heard of two ideas from friends, one being the ECU and the other being the Transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone explain fault code p0236 is that vacuum n75 or map sensor ?
Hi! I have a 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth. I got it brand new (12 miles!) and I have over 150,000 miles now after 10 years (I drive a lot for work). I love my little Abarth so much so when the dealership mechanic told me that I needed a new engine so I should start looking at other cars I was devastated.
I’m a woman and a little suspicious because I’m not that mechanically inclined so I wanted to get a second opinion. I guess my main question is would it be a good idea to get a second opinion or should I take the dealership at their word?
My other question, if you care to read this far, is: do the folks of this subreddit know what could be wrong? Here are some details (now that I've typed it out, I realize it's not much to go off of):
I appreciate any tips or advice! Thank you so much!

Hey guys, hoping some of you can pass along your Abarth wisdom. I bought my 2013 Cabrio about 6 months ago ( I'm a salesperson at a Mazda store, and it was a trade in). Always wanted one, and snatched it up immediately. For 11 years old and 125k miles, it was in decent shape. We put tires on it, oil change, front shocks, and I had a local 'European' specialty shop do the timing belt. It's been a really great running Abarth.
Last week I got the check engine light right before parking it for the winter (I'm about an hour NW of Philly) and I took it back to the European shop. It was showing codes P0299 and P0128. They did a smoke test yesterday, and final result is it needs a new turbo.
Their estimate is $4,100 (down from $4500 when balked). I'm not mechanically inclined, and all my techs are Mazda and Honda guys and this engine is out of their wheelhouse. Should I get a second opinion? I have a Chrysler dealer in the family (but it's a really awkward situation). I know from reading posts here and on the Abarth forums that $4100 is on the high side, so I just was hoping you guys might pass along some thoughts I may not have thought about. I love this little car, and I really want to keep it, but I don't have $4100 to put into it (and even if I did, I still think that's a lot). I'm also going to post on the Fiat forums so apologies if you guys see this twice.
Thank you in advance for all your help!
Morning chaps. I had an engine light come on - diagnosed as post catalytic converter sensor (not especially worried about that tbh). However, I’m sure I can now hear a knock and change in revs when idling. This isn’t constant knocking and doesn’t always happen and it quite discreet but I do notice it? Any ideas 😓
2013 5sp Abarth - has 70k miles but I'm thinking I should do the timing chain soon - anyone have a ballpark price on this?
I live in the Midwest.
(I've contacted 2 shops and they won't give an estimate over the phone)
