I yelled at my TV back in '08, never so invested in any story until this show. Now in '24, I'm writing my own fanfic to write the wrong of the past.
If you're curious, my fanfic is called Book 4: Air, the Missing Element on AO3 and Wattpad.
Zutara month prompt 9: You're married!? Yikes >.< too much angst? This piece of art is mine and mine alone. I created it. Please make sure to credit if you share or repost! Original post is on my Instagram! ??
Dangly buns? Low pig tails? Or is it a cultural hairstyle that I don't know of?
Is Aang The only one who can be considered a “Powerful” bender⁉️⁉️🤔

These will all be featured in my fanfic 😂 I just started shipping Haru x Azula today in my brainstorming. They are opposites but that's the whole theme of ALL of these ships! ☯️
I have made myself a playlist to remind me of the plot points I wish to hit in my fanfic. If you'd like, you can give it a listen and theorize what I got planned.
"I never thought (non-benders) essential. They're crude and unspeakably plain. But maybe they've a glimmer of potential if allied to my vision and brain... (Azula) And where do (I) feature? (Ozai) Just listen to teacher. I know it sounds sordid but you'll be rewarded when at last I am given my dues and in justice deliciously squared, be prepared!... So prepare for the coup of the century, be prepared for the murkiest scam. Meticulous planning, tenacity spanning, decades of denial is simply why I'll be king, undisputed, respected saluted and seen for the wonder I am! Yes my teeth and ambitions are bared, be prepared!"

"I am my mother's savage daughter... I will not cut my hair, I will not lower my voice... My mother's child dances in the darkness. She sings heathen songs by the light of the moon and watches the stars, and renames the planets, and dream she can reach them with a song and a broom."

I've been doing some heavy research for my Zutara fanfic and in my quest to find hints and clues for Book 4, I have found they are literally EVERYWHERE. Even in the most notoriously disliked episode, The Great Divide, has clues woven into the narrative.
How the hell Aunt Wu's predictions supposed to not mean exactly what they supposed to mean in the episode " The Fortune Teller", but Katara marrying a very powerful bender, aka "Aang" is supposed to be 100% true? And i do not mean that I need proof that it's true because it is canon, i mean that it's another thing to try to show throughout a whole episode, that sometimes things are not how you want them to be and that is okay, or that it is not fated to be as we want, or even that we all cna change our destiny, we're not puppets so just because an old lady says that we're going to end up alone and be miserable ( like with Sokka), it does not mean that will happen. In the whole episode we saw Katara showing him and showing to us the viewers, that she did not like Aang more than a friend. The same way Aang didn't like Meng more than a friend and that it was okay. Sometimes that happens too. That was supposed to be, with the help of the narrative, the lesson for the kids that were watching the show.
You have the parallels of rejections, between Meng and Aang (1) ( they even have similar names), you have Aunt Wu's predictions of Katara and Aang (2) and you have in the end the gaang saving the village and not Aunt Wu, (3) and realizing that Aunt Wu was wrong or that the things she said were not literally mean exactly what she was making them seem to mean, just like the man with the bear where the gaang found him at the start of the episode.
When Aang sees Katara in the first episode with her necklace
When Meng sees Aang for he first time
When Meng flirts with Aang:
When Aang flirts with Katara:
When Meng confess to Aang:
When Aang confess to Katara:
Aunt Wu's prediction to Katara's future husband:
(Keep in mind that she was not guessing 100% exactly right their fates)
When Aunt Wu tried to see Aang's future: What happened? The whole room almost burned because of the power the fire had and she didn't even see any romance in his future. That is the powerful bender? Aunt Wu didn't even see that much power of this bender in Katara's future. If this was about Aang, if he was the "powerful bender", the same thing that happened with the fire in Aang's turn it would happen with Katara too.
Besides, " powerful bender" does not mean " the most powerful bender", Zuko is also a very powerful bender. Like...the dude managed to absorb and expel with his own body a lightning bolt ( + he run faster than the lighting bolt).
Only for the writers to take a 360, to destroy the whole point of the episode, by making Sokka saying that Aang is a very powerful bender and Katara to be in shock by his words and that implies that her fate is 100% the fate Aunt Wu predicted it would be. So...anyone can change their destiny, even Aang who is not supposed to be with Katara or anyone by that point. but Katara CANNOT because Aunt Wu said it.
Keep in mind, that throughout s2 Aang's " love" for Katara was considered attachment and Aang was told that he HAD to let it go, because HE WAS NOT SUPPOSED to hold on to that. He was the Avatar, he HAD A JOB TO DO. Aunt Wu did predict that. And she did predict that his whole fate was connected to the fate of the world. And there was NOT A GIRL. And what Aang did? He hold on to the "lie"of Aunt Wu that he would have the girl that his heart desires, even though everyone told him that he had to let go Katara, that he had to control the Avatar State, even in times that Katara was in danger, Aang could not let her go. By the end of s2 Aang hold on to Katara, when he was not supposed to, and he did let go of everyone else, his own people, Appa, his friends, but he couldn't let go of his crush? ( Personally i believe he was projecting his trauma upon her). So, I love him, i really do, but i have to acknowledge that when Aang said to Aunt Wu that " yeah, yeah i know all that stuff" and then he asked if she sees a girl, Aang prioritize thoughout the whole series Katara and puts her above the whole world, until Lok comes, and Aang suddenly prioritize the Air Nomads? I call that bad writing. Aang deserved to let go of Katara. Bc for me that whole attachment destroyed his arc and s2. And make Kataang hella toxic, that by the end, the whole fluffy thing between them ( i still am a Zutarian, do not worry) died. And i do believe that the powerful bender was Zuko, because in his case, we have a whole bunch of evidence from the narrative, and Oma and Shu and Tui and La, and not just Sokka saying that "Aang is powerful" , yeah tell us something we don't know.
i thought i uploaded it here, but i can't find it anywhere so here is another fan made video of mine of Zuko and Katara in the Live Action. Is it maybe because of the app? Do you have any problems with your posts? I did not have any notification that it was removed, maybe i was going to upload it but forgot? Maybe i did it and it was weeks ago? Idk. So, here it is again, if you watched already, you can just scroll =)
Zutara was never dead but it has definitely been revitalized!!

I've been developing a Zutara fanfic and my mind is filled with theories galore. I've never been this obsessed about something in my life before. Anyways, I've been sharing my theories on various Reddit communities, careful not to reveal that I'm a Zutarian. This sums up my experience so far. Though there are some occasions where I do find people willing to discuss the theories without attacking each other. Can anyone relate?
Have you even considered how f******g romantic it will look like if they actually make Katara and Zuko try to reach each other in the middle of the battle in the last episode? Like.... Zuko's hand after he is wounded, trying to reach for our girl, to make sure she is okay, and Katara's hand ready to heal him with her water...I
Just look at these 2 and tell me this won't seem romantic at all!!!
IM SCREAMING!
So I'm looking for a fanart that I saw a while back, I think it was a 3 or 4 panel comic. Description👇
Basically, Zuko is sleeping and Katara comes in and see his scar. She places her hand over it and realizes that it's shaped like a hand. She pulls back and clasps her other hand over her mouth in horror with tears in her eyes.
Its night in my country, im about to sleep and and i cannot stop but thinking about:
Lui (the moon) that is the white koi fish, the light side, that represents as many zutarians believe ( myself included) the yang, which is the active, masculine and positive side meaning the fire aka Zuko.
And La which is the black koi fish (the ocean) - the dark side that represents passivity, the feminine, the negative side, meaning the water aka Katara.
Two energies opposites, yet destined to be around each other, destined to exist together, and if one dies the other cannot live.
And here i am thinking that Tui the "male" energy died just like Shu died in the tale of the Two Lovers and Oma could not live without him. Two enemies, destined to be together, divided by the war.
Just like Zuko gave his life, again the male energy, the man, died to save the girl, Katara!!!!! Zuko being the light side, someone that even though at first he seemed like he was a bad person, in reality he was someone with a good heart, a side that was close to the light, and Katara someone that was above all a kind person that was carrying for other people but inside her, she had a dark side too because of her trauma, again, the dark side.
The two characters that are represented by yin and yang by the Tale Of Two Lovers by the narrative and the script itself, and yet Zutara happened accidentally and nothing was implied...Sure, sure. Because we all can write amazing romantic parallels by accident.
Posting here because this supports my idea that the love triangle in LOK was meant to be for ATLA for a Zutara ending.
From the very beginning, Korra already basically mastered 3 of the 4 elements. Aang accomplished mastering all 4 elements EXCEPT the spiritual component associated with the Air Nation. People think the book title is associated with strictly the one element the avatar is training in. However, people argue the title Air wouldn't make sense since he already has mastery tattoos. Those tats are mastery of the physical forms of airbending, not for spiritual enlightenment. So if Air is the element that deals with the spiritual side of this world, the book title makes sense. Writing wise, they had to make Korra OP from the get go in order to get to the plot points laid out for ATLA Book 4.
We then get a love triangle between Korra, Mako, and Bolin. We would've gotten this love triangle between Katara, Zuko and Aang. Mako and Bolin are brothers; Zuko and Aang become like brothers by the end of Book 3. The avatar ends up with someone that wasn't an original contender but became one through building a friendship. I think this dynamic is Korra & Asami to Aang & Toph.
If I continue ranting in this post, I'm going to end up giving away spoilers to my fanfic, Book 4: Air, the Missing Element. Ugh, this is so torturous to have so many writing ideas and unable to share my theories!
Could anybody recommend some book 2 au fanfics?
Looking for some recommendations based off of these preferences….
