Hey guys, I've included a TL;DR at the bottom and the title really says it all.

however I'm a rather verbose person and simply cannot write a shirt post, this one has been edited 3x lol, so sorry in advance for the long post...

So I I've been putting more thought into about the Zune "marketplace" than normally lately how much of a shame that it is that the marketplace is defunct..... just like Xbox live for the OG Xbox but they have Insignia now thanks to a ton of dedicated and very talented group of fellas and an IP address and DNS change.

With that in mind, I started thinking about the ability to self-host services, like the PS4 level exploit and how they depend on changing the DNS, which brought me to another thought, I'm sure you are following me here...

if the DNS can be changed on a Zune 30gb we could redirect marketplace requests to our own PC which would be running some kind of server software and can serve up whatever we have in our library and run a program on our PC.

With all this being said, I'm completely useless in this endeavor, I don't know if this is even possible since I currently don't even own one. Though I do plan on buying one in the very near future to mod and show some loving to... I just thought I'd throw this concept out there in case it hasn't been thought of and one of you guys may know enough about each of these topics to be able to bring all of these ideas together.

OK....so I am on the verge of buying a broken Zune 30gb and upgrade it to oblivion (Bluetooth, battery, wireless charging, storage and possibly a shell). I have a metric ton of music in 24/96 flac (I know I need to convert to lossless WMA) and am kinda ocd about keeping things organized, so I was thinking about how cool it would be to be able to swap SD cards and found THIS (ebay link)neat little device, does anybody have any experience with this or something similar? I know the Zune cant see anything past 120gb so I would be limited to 128gb SD cards. Also, I assume that Zune's OS resides on the HDD, so each SD card would need the Zune's OS installed on it, which means I could have different EQ settings for different music.

I just think it would be SOOOO freaking awesome to be able to swap out SD cards (like little albums, remember the SD card albums you could by in or around 2007, lol. Basically the same as premise a floppy disc emulator or BlueSCSI and using an SD card extension that leads to the charging port slot to insert the SD cards (or cutting a slot out on the side, which is something I really do not want to do but will if needed). My ultimate goal is to give a Zune 30gb a 2nd chance at life (specifically one with a bad charging port, if possible) that otherwise would've gotten thrown away.

I have two zune devices, and I would like to use them for different purposes. On my main zune I have all of my purchased music in the form of mp3s. I have a zune hd that I want to use for lossless music ripped from my cd collection exclusively. Is it possible to sort these two collections separately in the zune windows software?

FIX FOUND: Go under settings > device > sync options and scroll down and click "forget this player". Then reconnect the Zune and do sync options again (I picked manual), after that I was able to sync the rest of the music in batches. Not perfect but it's better than nothing!

I'm trying to sync all the songs from my dad's old zune for him, He has like 2000 songs and there were only around 600 left to go before I got the error code C00D124D. I already tried the Zune modding helper and restarting the zune, but nothing is working. What should try next?

Hello, I'm looking to add Bluetooth to my zunes. I've seen people add Bluetooth to zune 30s and 80s and I was wondering what chips they use? I want to order some online but I'm worried that they'll be too big. Thanks!

Just bought a Zune 30 and decided to get the software up and running. I already did the Windows 11 fix and my Zune HD connects just fine but the 30 just won't connect at all.

Just got this off ebay, and it wouldn't stay connected to my computer. I bought a new cord because I assumed that was the issue, apparently it's not. Does anyone know how to fix this?

ive had this zune for most of my life, bother handed it down to me when he got bored with it and ive kept it since, just recently got it working only to find the audio washed out with multiple headphones and could only get proper audio out in one ear with the cord partily plugged in, any ideas?

So. I checked battery voltage and it was 3.6v so soldered this one in. It did the normal dim charging icon.

Then it decided to light up like this, assuming this is good sign and means that it will be active very soon if I leave it on the charger?

My girlfriend has her old moms zune and her mom has passed away years ago and I wanted to fix it for her. I got a new battery and replaced that and then it gave me an error with a number 5 at the left corner and said contact support what should I do now ? I don’t want to lose any of her mom’s music she has in it I wished I could just turn it on and it worked like it did when her mom used it . So can I do now or should do now . Thank you !

Windows Update (which I try my very best to avoid) has borked my driver installation for the Zune. It has returned to doing what it did with NO drivers installed, which is making the device connect and then disconnect noise over and over, and not being recognized properly by anything. How do I fix this?

Please do not include any cables or charging apparatus - we have many different ways to charge and test your devices that are OEM. Please carefully bubble wrap your Zune devices, they will be returned in the same box and material in which they are shipped. We are not responsible for any damages occurred in shipping. Batteries:

The capacity of your battery is dependent on stock and availability. We generally prefer to use capacities close to or better than the stock OEM batteries. Some cases will require you to fully discharge and charge your Zune a few times to see accurate battery readings.

We use only the tried and true KingSpec or Yansen ZIF SSDs.

Music Backup:

Yes! We can backup and restore your Zunes music! If your Zune has hard drive issues and/or you are upgrading to an SSD, please provide a flash drive with your mp3 files and we will upload them for you free of charge. This is recommended for SSD customers. Changing out a battery will not wipe your music.

Standalone Music Upload:

Can't figure out Zune Software? We recommend following the steps in the r/Zune megathread. If that doesn't work for you, we can still upload music for you as a standalone service. Please send us your Zune and a flash drive loaded with your music in mp3 file format. We charge $20 for this service. If you are purchasing a mod, or repair then this optional service is included for free.

Hello, is it possible to bypass zune 120 battery board ? I kinda messed up the cell replacement and rip the GND pad off

3000mah battery and 128gb ssd installed! I was so scared I was going to do something wrong but it turned out successful!!! Super fun day project!
