damn them live performances from the over-nite sensation era are missing them funky soulsista sounds which are so important to the album itself.
I was just listening to Larks Tongues getting amped to hear the live versions Steve and Adrian and the boys are going to put out here soon and I realized I almost never hear about King Crimson on here? Aside from brief mentions of the time Frank said he had never heard of Robert Fripp and the tour I really can't think of any other times.
So what's the feeling? Are we just quiet about it or do Zappa fans not generally like KC?
ps: Robert Fripp's wife. Oh my lord. I just watched their youtube covers and she must be a fucking hoot to live with. Also boobies.

Jeff Beck and Frank Zappa, 1967
“I loved his political outbursts,” Beck said to Classic Rock. “From what I could read between the lines he probably could have made the best American president ever. He was very knowledgeable about world affairs and he had a deep cynical streak.” He continued: “Me and Ronnie Wood knew no fear when we were together in ’69. I knew where Frank lived and I drove up to Laurel Canyon in a rented Camaro and did a rubber burnout outside his house. He, of course, heard it, and came out and said: ‘You can cut out that shit,’ and invited us in. He took a shine to me and Ronnie big time.”

guys,
Who has heard of the "Zappa Galaxy" project?
A film (AI) on the theme of Joe's Garage.

The line is included in the lyrics in “He’s so gay”. What does it mean? Was “putting your keys on the right” a way to signal you were gay during this period? I am confusion. America explain!
I’m in university and trying to appreciate zappa (my favorite artist) without feeling like a hypocrite is difficult. I’m invited to parties and hangouts where there’s obviously alcohol and weed and other drugs. I try to take it seriously when fz says that alcohol and drugs are bad and that it turns people into assholes. But at the same time it looks fun when everyone is around together smoking and drinking and I feel like a Debbie downer always abstaining and having to explain who Frank is and why he doesn’t support people using drugs or drinking. Not only that but my friends have even called me annoying for bringing it up constantly (even though it’s usually only on the weekends). They also say I’m a hypocrite for taking up smoking while advising them not to put things into their bodies, and it’s hard for me to argue why their wrong. They don’t seem convinced by my rebuttals and frankly I don’t convince myself much either.
Has anyone else felt alienated by their appreciation for zappa? Are there any arguments I can use to convince my friends of where I’m coming from and perhaps get them to take what zappa says a little more seriously? Or am I fighting a losing battle and should just listen to someone else?
I recall hearing somewhere that Frank wasn't one for music videos and saw them as an advertisement for music. He said his favorite music video was the one for Tom Tom Club's Genius Of Love. Got me thinking about what other videos I think he would've liked. Talking Heads' Once In A Lifetime and Fatboy Slim's Weapon Of Choice popped into my head. What do y'all think?
It’s a fact that music genres and intelligence are correlated. And Zappa’s music known for complexity. So, Do you consider yourself as a smart, average or dumb person? And assumptions about Zappa’s IQ?
Edit: Jesus Christ looks like me, guys you can search other papers related to topic. It is only an example.
