This is an update, from last week, to my docker container that makes asm/basic development really easy since everything is set up for you.
Some of you might find it useful. PRs welcome!
I'm writing a game in BASIC for the ZX81 but all I have is ZEsarUX emulator. Does anyone know how to write to .tap file in that emulator? I'm assuming .tap file will be okay for people to download off the internet and play on their ZX81 setup.
Hi, ZX-81 lovers. I tried to find a game (or maybe it was a demo) about submarine escaping underwater mines. It was made in HiRes and you control sub to avoid mines. I need the title of this game. Thous who playing this game, can you remember the title?
You can run my "Aritm - mental calculation" online on https://mobluse.github.io/zx81js/zx81kb.html?track=Aritm.tzx.zip.
The site where it's linked from is on https://mobluse.github.io/zx81js/.
The forkable FOSS source code (GPLv2+) for the site is on https://github.com/mobluse/zx81js.
The FOSS ZX81 BASIC source code (GPLv3+) for Aritm is on https://github.com/mobluse/aritmjs/blob/master/aritm-zx81.bas
I hacked the original JavaScript code from https://www.zx81stuff.org.uk/zx81/jtyone.html so that it can be run in a subdirectory on GitHub, which has the advantage that others that wish to make their ZX81 software runnable online can use my github as a template or fork it on GitHub, then modify. My site uses zx81x2.rom v. C (AKA Big Bang), which means that BASIC programs run much faster (twice as fast).
Aritm is also runnable in BASIC online on other sites, but for other retro computers: https://cx16forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=26686#p26686

Aritm is also available for other computers and graphing calculators: https://aritm.orbin.se/ (In Swedish, but can be translated to any language, use e.g. Google Translate.)
Does anyone know if there is a site that has scans of the inserts (J-cards) for zx81 and/or ts1000 cassettes?
Hi,
I was looking for a ZX81 for Android, I found mentions of Zed EX (about 10 years ago).
Any other options ?
Thanks,
Luis.
I have a S1000 (same as ZX81). I got the composite output add-on but having trouble installing it (hands are not steady for soldering).
Anyone know someone in Brooklyn or Manhattan that can solder the board on and test? I'll show that the ZX81 works ahead of time. I am about to buy a B&W TV so it'll be easy to test as well.
No rush on this project, I just want to get a clean signal out of this machine.
UPDATE: GOT THIS DONE!!! POST INCOMING! Works great!
