Season 5 wasn't good? What show were you watching? S5 had some of the funniest and emotional moments of the show IMO. The writing and character development were spot on.
Jimmy changed, Gretchen didn't. Also which show were you watching? Jimmy learned to pay more attention to others, Gretchen needed to learn to pay more attention to herself. The show ended with her not only confronting her mother but coming clean to Jimmy and committing to raising a child.
How long was the time jump from Jimmy and Gretchen’s wedding to Paul and Lindsey’s wedding in the last episode? I don’t know how to judge kids’ ages, and Paul’s kid and little Shive-Overly would be a way to judge the time jump. It looked like they had a kid almost right away because Felicity seemed about the same age as Paul’s kid. Ha actually thought she was older than him
I know the kid actors’ ages might not be the exact ages that match the timeline, but I’m curious what you all think the estimate is
So I just finished the series last night and the ending...just doesnt sit well with me.
I get that they were both supposed to be horrible people that we are supposed to see as flawed but forgivable but I feel Gretchen just really...was the worst.
Her pill addiction doesn't seem to get resolved other than Edgar taking them away, what she said to Edgar, how she just landed in Lyndsey's house and took over (similar to what she did with Jimmy), her self sabotaging behavior and refusal to take accountability to it, not listening/abusing her therapist and, the top thing that bothers me is "I'm mentally ill/depressed", having access to help herself, having friends who support her and instead of utilizing any of it, sucking the energy out of others efforts and then just going about her life like she doesn't owe anyone anything. Her knocking the cup off the table and leaving it after saying "you'll forgive me for anything" pissed me off beyond belief. Her stepping on it later made me feel "oh wow. Maybe she will realize this behavior of doing things and leaving it for others to clean it up only hurts herself and she needs to start cleaning up her own messes"
Nope.
Maybe you can say Jimmy almost leaving was her revelation but no...
The only character other character that is that selfish and egotistical is Becca...
Which is another one Jimmy dated. Jimmy just has horrible taste in women. Yes, he is an asshole too, but an asshole where we saw growth.
Mental illness doesn't give you the right to be an asshole to people. I feel Jimmy begins to realize that. We see it with his relationship with Edgar. Gretchen..no
Flame me if you must but at the end, I could not STAND Gretchen
Both actors were great though.
I am seriously considering getting one and surprising my wife with it.
In his obituary, it says his place of birth was Chorlton-cum-Hardy. I know this show likes to joke with how some English names, terms, etc are silly, but do you think that is the actual (fictional) town he was born in or was it his daughters having fun with the obituary?
Edit: Oh my gosh. That’s an actual town in England. I should have googled it but I was sure that was a fake name 😆
I just finished You're the Worst, and just found this subreddit, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I've been watching this for a while, and I recently took a break between seasons 4 and 5 to watch the new season of Only Murders in the Building, and was pleasantly surprised to see Desmin Borges was in that as well! So the funny part is, for anyone who hasn't watched it, season 4 of Only Murders was all about adapting a murder podcast into a movie in New York. Now I finally watched the finale of You're the Worst, and what does Edgar say to Jimmy near the end? Yep, he moved to New York where he's been adapting a murder podcat into a movie!
I know it's only a weird coincidence, since the two shows are a few years apart, but I just thought it was funny.😀

Soooo are there any attendees that can share how this went and what happened? I'm soooo eager to hear about it!
I'll be honest, towards the end I just wanted it to be over with so I could see how Jimmy and Gretchen's love story ended, but I'll give it them for keeping me guessing which way it would go. Just as many times I was positive that they wouldn't end up together, the notion of the opposite seemed conceivable as well.
The one thing I was COMPLETELY thrown off by was the manipulation of the timeline in the final episode. I was legitimately confused for a minute or two until I realized what they had done.
Anyway I absolutely loved that part of the episode, and loved the way they ended the show. It was unexpected, different, and honestly...heart-warming.
Now I legit don't wanna talk to anyone who hasn't finished this show😅😭😭😭
I'm a Union Electrician and just got out of the apprenticeship last where they call us helpers. This one gets me all the time.
Anyone in the LA area interested in going to today’s reunion? I got my ticket but can’t make it to the event
S05E02 "The Pin in My Grenade"
They’re both war veterans. They both have a blonde girlfriend from their acting class. My point is…. Edgar could’ve become Barry lmaoo.
It’s on his patio. But still part of his house.
I’m begging you, Hulu!
TIA
I don't understand why the kid from Dayton went back to Dayton?
