So I thought I saw a paint by numbers person on here who was local. You submit a photo and they get you a canvas/paint. Anybody remember that post?
Whats up with the police presence around the Millcreek park emternce off Shultz Rd around dusk? I know it closes at dawn but it was never closed off and watched like that, you used to be able to cut through.. Is it because of the glory hole?
My bf and I found an injured cat and have been trying to safely trap her ever since. The only issue is that I do not know where to take her once I get her. Her paw is injured, she holds it up and limps. She stops to lick it, so it's clearly bothering her. We're having trouble getting her close enough, but we may have a friend with safe traps we can borrow. Does anyone know where I can take her? Somewhere that can treat her and take good care of her? I would take her in myself, but I cannot because of my current housing situation :( People with knowledge of rescuing/trapping stray cats would be very helpful right now. I'm so worried about the poor thing, especially now that it's getting colder. She is also very very close to a highway exit, and is living off of a main road. Please help me help her :( Any advice is greatly appreciated
I'm fairly certain she does not belong to anyone, it looked like she was sleeping behind a random shed. Her lack of medical care also leads me to believe that she's a stray. I am also assuming her sex based on her size, though she could be a boy. I couldn't get close enough to properly tell.
edit: for clarification
What’s the easiest, hassle free way to watch the Cavs here? I used to stream it through those free sites, but what a pain in the ass those are! Hoping there’s something available to purchase, but disclaimer, I hope it works better than Bally. Also, if I get NBA League pass, are the games ever blacked out?
Tis the season!
I’m looking for a guy who can do some work around my house. Replacing a faucet, hanging shelves, replacing some floor trim, electrical work, etc. I’d prefer an independent contractor type, not a big company. It would be nice to have someone to call when we have things that need done.
Hey Everyone
I was hoping to get some help with finding some open mics in the mahoning / Trumbull county areas that provide the sound equipment at the venue.
I mess around with some looping stuff and have my own equipment, but no large PAs or anything.
If anyone knows any that may take place weekly or monthly please let me know - I would REALLYA appreciate it.
Thanks <3
I’m moving to Youngstown next year and I like me some flashy cars. Currently driving a bright blue Civic Type R, but am worried about car theft/break ins the neighborhood. Quick Google search showed multiple car break ins and this year and it might be on the rise.
Before I consider trading to a truck or jeep, wanted to see if you fine folks can share some insight on road conditions (pot holes and steep hills?) and general car crime in the area. Is it something to be worried about?
Hi! 27(F) looking to join an indoor soccer league this winter! Anyone know of one?
I don't really know many people in the area in early adulthood, but since I've moved back to Youngstown, I've realized that a lot of the stuff I experienced living in a large city during my 20s was stuff I wouldn't have experienced here. I keep thinking about the show "Friends" and how I never really thought it related to my young adult life, but my 20s were probably more like those characters' lives than the average Ytowner. But I could be wrong.
-I feel like here, pairing up young is more of a priority and less common than dating around, like in a larger city.
-It seems like prioritizing career over settling down/ starting a family is less common here. If anything, people tend to settle down because it's considered a way to become more financially stable and career-focused.
-I don't think I know anyone with roommates in Youngstown. In larger cities, it's not uncommon for people to have roommates into and past their 40s. I have yet to meet anyone with roommates since I've moved back. It seems most people live alone, with family or with their significant other.
-I had a variety of 3rd places when I was in my 20s in a big city. It might just be age blindness, but I haven't seen a lot of places that would be considered 3rd places for any age group since I've been back that don't revolve around church, school or sports.
I'm curious what life was or is like for 20-30 year old singles in the area.
I’m semi new to the area. I have been cleaning out my grandmas house. I have a lot bedding and clothing.
No good wills.
The mystop app said to take bus 27 from rulli brothers in Austintown at 10:06. Bus pulled up, never opens door. Waits 6 minutes and leaves. Was it full or something? I was literally right in front of the door staring at the driver. Unfamiliar with riding the bus and how it works.
I'm mailing a friend of mine a little gift package and was hoping to send some very "Youngstown" gifts, I have a couple shirts from Westside Bowl and a jar of Mount Carmel marinara and some locally canned peppers in oil, what else would YOU put it a small gift package to mail to a pal that catches the essence of the valley?
Best place to get wings in Youngstown area?
I hope everyone will support the library renewal levy.
The access to kindle/downloadable books and audiobooks alone is well worth the price if you only take a look.
For families with kids, there is no substitute. The average picture book costs $19! $19!! And to raise a book reading infant and child you need to expose them to at least 2 or 3 a week. You can't just keep showing a young child the same book over and over and over. Yes, some will be favorites (shout out to elephant and piggie!) but they need wide access to grow.
Have a commute? download audio books instead of listening to goofus podcasters. Retired? Trust me, you will enjoy ebooks on your ipad much more than doomscrolling angry posts!
Do I wish they had more programs in the suburbs instead of the downtown location. Yes, of course I do. But I know I can provide my child (now a teen) and myself and wife with those kind of experiences myself, and the people in ytown cannot.
You are benefitting from the library even if you don't use it yourself (although you should) because it makes your community better. Please support the levy.
I do not work for the youngstown public library in any way... although I do love the downloadable audiobooks. They are fantastic for when you're working in the yard, or kitchen, or taking a walk, or cleaning up around the house.
There's some talk that this is a new tax. It is not. It is a renewal. Nothing new.
Hopefully it’s a car wash 😍
For many years, Youngstown City Schools have been on academic watch or emergency, and in 2009, they were ranked "worst in state."
Also, I do not know why the parents and guardians continue 15 years later to send their child or children to schools here despite the scores and violence.
I also in recent years that parents and guardians send their child or children to other schools in districts such as Hubbard, Lowellville, Austintown, Struthers, Boardman, or anywhere else to get their children a better educational environment, and they have every right to do so.
About a year ago, one of my friends said that her friends were at East High School for a cheering competition, and they had to be escorted everywhere.
