No spoilers obviously
I recently started YS a few days ago and now I'm at that part in S3 where Sheldon wanted to go to Dr Linkletter's lecture but Meemaw said no because the guy just wants to hit on her. So naturally, Sheldon had to prove her wrong and then ended up calling her and his parents selfish.
I have seen most of TBBT and have been pissed at Sheldon, but this is the first I felt truly irritated at him as a child. I get the frustration of other characters with him, especially his siblings. But this is the first that I personally felt irritated and just wanted to shut him up lmao
Every scene where Sheldon is in some sort of outside restroom he has to tell someone to wash their hands and without him they probably wouldn’t have done it. With Georgie when he was younger it was obvious that he was some dumb kid that didn’t care about his hygiene at all. But he definitely didn’t progress, because after changing Ceecees diaper he had to be told to wash his hands from Mandy at dinner. So without her he would’ve been eating his food with baby 💩 on his hands. And when Missy was “in charge” George lied to her about washing his hands after being using the toilet. And people seriously say Sheldon’s mittens are weird, it’d be more weird to hold hands that have baby feces and beer infested liquid diarrhoea on them.
For example:
10-Sheldon(he's the main character)
9-Georgie(also one of the main characters)
8-Sturgis(sometimes is super important and other times just disappears
7-Tam( Lost importance overtime)
6-Linkletter( Gained importance overtime)
5-Coach Wilkins( Important in almost every season)
4-Lundy( Appears randomly)
3-Neil Cavanaugh(Important for one episode)
2-"That guy"( Not really important, but just kinda appeared in an episode
1-Janitor Jim(Name was mentioned sometimes)
0-IDK, pewdiepie?(doesn't appear at all)
P.S Idk if someone has posted this in this sub.
Mary and George were arguing over who was going to Germany with Sheldon, and George ended up letting Mary go. At the airport, George and Missy say their goodbyes to Sheldon and Mary. On their way home, a tornado comes and since George had some knowledge on tornadoes he knew that they would have to leave the car if they saw a funnel because the car could get picked up. They ended up leaving the car, which eventually did get picked up by the tornado so they survived unharmed. But let’s say it was George that was going to Germany with Sheldon, it would be him on the plane and Mary taking Missy home with the tornado coming out. I don’t think Mary would’ve known the car could get picked up, I assume she would’ve started panicking, driving faster, praying or whatever which could have easily killed Missy and Mary. The Germany decision was basically 50/50, so there was half a chance this could have happened. And obviously, Mandy and CeeCee could’ve been at Connies house but that night she went to her parents with the baby.
Even despite dropping out and getting Mandy pregnant at 17, I think Georgie is one of the most responsible characters in the series. Yes I know that there are several moments in the series that show him being irresponsible, but considering his age and how he learns from his mistakes, I'd say he's still great. His growth responsibility actually starts around season 2 or 3 when he starts driving, has his friendship with Veronica and starts working for Dale and slowly develops over the course of the series, especially after Cee Cee is born. I loved seeing him mature and show his responsibility while also still showing his age. He has great character development, becoming a great father and well rounded individual, and I feel he deserves a lot more credit. He's my favorite character.
I was rewatching season 1 of Young Sheldon and became curious about what Tam's parents were saying to each other in their store during the Dungeons & Dragons episode. I couldn’t find a translation online.
I haven't watched big bang theory but have seen enough clips that I think I will like it. Anyways, I just started on Young Sheldon and I love the show so far. My question is should I watch TBBT before to catch the references or does it matter the order?
If this has already been covered in another post I apologize and would love for someone to give me the link to that discussion.
One of my favorite elements in YS is all the Easter eggs they gave us from Big Band dialog. They fed us so many member berries.
I want to make sure to say I feel they did an absolutely amazing job of making comments Sheldon said about his childhood truthful.
One of our favorite things to do as we watched YS was to catch the few things Sheldon said in Big Bang that didn’t match what we got in young Sheldon.
Here is one example:
Sheldon mentioned his dad’s driving whisky but we never see George with liquor.
What are some other examples of this have you all found?
I just started Young Sheldon and the theme song……awful….. does it get better or is it the same theme song the whole time xD I understand this is a small complaint and the intro can easily be skipped but it’s so wild that TBBT had a beautiful, fun, iconic theme song then YS has a generic sounding random pop rock song…
I've been binge watching YS and Im honestly disappointed with the season Im watching. I dont understand the need to show George being interested with the neighbour or even Mary being turned on with a pastor. Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? Is it worth continuing?
Young Sheldon is actually dumb because, while he knows all the smart stuff like numbers and science, he can’t even figure out how to microwave a Pop-Tart without causing a philosophical debate about breakfast foods. He thinks the world runs on logic, but he doesn’t understand that you can’t win at Monopoly by proving gravity exists. Plus, he’s so busy being right about everything that he forgets trees exist, which is why he trips over roots he claims shouldn’t be there. If smartness was measured by who can hug a cat without getting scratched, Sheldon’s at the bottom of the list when it comes to smart tv characters.
I haven’t liked a show that much in a long time .Binge it on Netflix , subscribe to Max for season 7. Now I feel empty . The whole cast was amazing everyone grew on me .
The life problems that the family faced ,so real. Great show.
What now ? :( lol
Just finished watching YS, It is one of the best comforting and heart warming series I'd watched till date,Any recommendations just like young sheldon
When the show was still on, I talked about Paige and Sheldon, and was temporarily banned because of rule 5:
>The characters in this show, specifically Sheldon and Paige are minors. It is inappropriate to discuss any intimate relationship involving them. Any posts violating this rule may result in a ban.No objectifying underage characters.
Apparently, now we can talk about it, so mod please remove rule 5, which never should have existed.
I never watched BBT because I thought it was insulting to smart people, (except I watched the episodes with a Star Trek actor).
What did Sheldon win the Nobel Prize for? I asked Alexa and she just said "physics." What did he discover?
What were the episode numbers of the first few episodes in which Amy appears? People here say she was as nerdy and awkward as he was, but the one youtube clip I saw had her bossing him around because apparently they had a kid that he wasn't paying enough attention to.
Basically, I'm asking for episode numbers or better yet, YouTube clips, that show Amy's very first interactions with Sheldon.
I finally finished Young Sheldon last night, and I genuinely think it’s one of the best TV series I’ve watched in the past year. The final two episodes were absolutely heart-touching. Then, I found out they’ve started another spin-off series based on Young Sheldon called Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and decided to give it a try today.
Unfortunately, from the very first seconds of the first episode, it was a huge disappointment—it’s a laughing show. One of the things that made Young Sheldon so special was that it wasn’t a typical laughing sitcom, and they’ve completely ruined the vibe by forcing this new spin-off into that format. Just wanted to rant about it, but I’m still holding on to a sliver of hope that it might get better.
Binge watched young Sheldon in a go,it felt like Iain grew up infront of our eyes. From being a kid with squeaky cute lil voice to a teen with manly voice. And watched many of his interviews as a kid,he is very gentle and so matured and handled the crowd very neatly.
The way he protects his sister after all, and Montana is funny
Everything i know about this part of the episode is that for some reason (probably copright issues in some countries) there’s 2 versions of this same part, but with different songs, in one of them Someday We Will Be Together by Diana Ross & The Supremes is playing on the background with the montage of the young TBBT characters, but in THIS version (i captured the clip from a Warner Bros YT video) it’s a completely different song and honestly it’s so beautiful and it works way better with this scene than the other track they used Do anyone have any idea what is the name or who made this song?
And after this, before Mary comes with the brisket and barbeque, then Sheldon says ''Why would you think you know his mom?'' whats this about? George also had a weird look on his face
So my next rant goes to the "Missy" character. I think she's great and loveable and was written in an awesome way so we understand the character inside out and in depth. My rant is that future Missy has nothing going on (apparently). I mean, Georgie gets to become a tycoon (of sorts) and Sheldon, well, he fulfills his destiny.
But Missy, we know that she's a mother of more than one child and doesn't have a husband so she's a single mother of 2 or more kids and doesn't have a cool job or whatever. Sure, this is a real life situation that happens all the time but I got invested in the character ( I bet I'm not the only one) and knowing she has no future in spite of being smart and super well adapted to life it's just super sad. She deserved better IMO
I hate that a lot of YS fans couldn't care less about him, who is the main character of the show and the sole reason it exists. Sure, to each their own but you don't have to hate the character and pretend that he's not cool enough or something. I, for once, started watching the series because of him and was satisfied how in the end, it ended with him as well (I was afraid it wouldn't since a lot of fans of the show couldn't care less about him and even the show runners know this) hence they gave good story lines to the rest.
TL;DR: Sheldon should be more regarded and liked by the so-called fans of the show.
It took me years to watch Young Sheldon for some reason I thought it wouldn’t work. Boy, was I wrong. I prefer it 100% over TBBT. Kinda wish it wasn’t a spin-off of it. Because what I love the most is the family, and their interactions that not include Sheldon. I realised I prefer the scenes with George sr, Missy, Connie and Georgie. George Dad character is just so funny and interesting. I was happy to see that he didn’t actually cheated on Mary, that Sheldon misread the situation. It is sad that he had to die since it was already mentioned in TBBT. Another thing I noticed that I enjoy about the show in comparison with TBBT is that they do not add “audience laugh” to it. I’m trying to rewatch TBBT and realised that I the audience laughs bothers me deeply. So, I’m rewatching YS once again. Unfortunately can’t find a way to watch Georgie spin off because outside of the USA I can’t find a streamer. That’s it :)
