Out of sheer curiosity, when did your male yorkie stop peeing/marking in the house?

Wondering if anyone can drop some recommendations below for the best toothpaste you've used on your Yorkies. As we all know they have dental issues and I'd like to use something tried and true from fellow Yorkie owners. I'm currently using the Well & Good brand but I haven't been super happy with it.

My wife and I recently lost our 14 3/4yr old Yorkie , Luigi to CFH. Hit us like a bus and it was only 10 days from diagnosis did we have to say our final goodbyes.

Admittedly, was never a Yorkie guy, always thought they were cute and all but not for me. Wasn't until Luigi entered my families life through a cousin who couldn't keep him. The dog instantly took a liking to me bc he knew how much I enjoyed his antics bc he was a troublemaker and sort of a "mans man" as far as yorkies go. I feel like he picked up on that energy. He was my soul dog, brother, son, best friend all wrapped up into the coolest dog ever.

Long story short, I live in NY and although we aren't ready to put ourselves out there yet (also have a 6 month old yellow lab, that's another reddit group lol) I'd like to get another dog similar to Luigi. I know nothing will ever be exact or compare but as far as size (11lbs) and coat (silverback) what should I look for in the next puppy/breeder since those traits won't be indicative right off the bat? I tried tracing his bloodline but he was a store puppy when those were a thing and it's untraceable basically.
